Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

What matters most in these cases is that SCOTUS has an opportunity to put up new guardrails against the hijacking of the federal courts for the purpose of lawfare — that is, for political dirty-fighting under color-of-law. The law is slow-moving, arcane, and incomprehensible to most non-lawyer citizens and that is why the Party of Chaos has misused it so liberally.

The schooling issue is not a too early start time. It is staying up too late the night before.
I would be up at 5am on school days, and would be running full throttle before 7. Most of the day’s work would be accomplished before 3pm. These were the traditional schedules of a productive, rural, America.
Once, there was a reason the Super Bowl and World Series used to be early afternoon events back in the day. Because the children still needed to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

For some reason, in the 1980s or so, we started collectively pretending that sleep was not a necessity for health.

I think that school start times revolve around the parents start times at work. Also think that teachers and administration chose to work the same hours as most of society.

America’s policy of principled realism means we will not be held hostage to old dogmas, discredited ideologies, and so-called experts who have been proven wrong over the years, time and time again. This is true not only in matters of peace, but in matters of prosperity.
We believe that trade must be fair and reciprocal. The United States will not be taken advantage of any longer.
For decades, the United States opened its economy — the largest, by far, on Earth — with few conditions. We allowed foreign goods from all over the world to flow freely across our borders.
Yet, other countries did not grant us fair and reciprocal access to their markets in return. Even worse, some countries abused their openness to dump their products, subsidize their goods, target our industries, and manipulate their currencies to gain unfair advantage over our country. As a result, our trade deficit ballooned to nearly $800 billion a year.
For this reason, we are systematically renegotiating broken and bad trade deals.
Last month, we announced a groundbreaking U.S.-Mexico trade agreement. And just yesterday, I stood with President Moon to announce the successful completion of the brand new U.S.-Korea trade deal. And this is just the beginning.
Many nations in this hall will agree that the world trading system is in dire need of change. For example, countries were admitted to the World Trade Organization that violate every single principle on which the organization is based. While the United States and many other nations play by the rules, these countries use government-run industrial planning and state-owned enterprises to rig the system in their favor. They engage in relentless product dumping, forced technology transfer, and the theft of intellectual property.
The United States lost over 3 million manufacturing jobs, nearly a quarter of all steel jobs, and 60,000 factories after China joined the WTO. And we have racked up $13 trillion in trade deficits over the last two decades.
But those days are over. We will no longer tolerate such abuse. We will not allow our workers to be victimized, our companies to be cheated, and our wealth to be plundered and transferred. America will never apologize for protecting its citizens.
The United States has just announced tariffs on another $200 billion in Chinese-made goods for a total, so far, of $250 billion. I have great respect and affection for my friend, President Xi, but I have made clear our trade imbalance is just not acceptable. China’s market distortions and the way they deal cannot be tolerated.
As my administration has demonstrated, America will always act in our national interest.

My spouse and I had to pay an additional $100 each for our medical insurance through work. The reasoning behind the increase was the cost of treating covid, even though we both already had it. We applied for a “religious” exemption but were denied. That money should be returned to us because it was total BS but we won’t ever see it.

I took a quick look at what happened to DC area real estate prices over the last four years, as well as the prices of houses on the upscale side of the market in Northern Virginia.
There is an obvious conclusion: billions of the dollars shoveled out to the Ukraine came right back in to the US, in the form of real estate purchases, to such a degree that the entire local market above a certain price point blew up like a big inflated balloon.
It is all stuck here now, just waiting for government seizure.

I’ve been dwelling on this, and the law enforcement personnel who knew about Eric Adams’ Turkish trips and sat on it until he crossed a red line, are guilty of election interference.
People in NYC voted for Adams because they thought a former cop was going to do something about the crime. If he had charges hanging over him they would perhaps have voted for someone else.
They didn’t know there was dirt on him that could be used to control him, and in fact was used to control him.

Donald Trump is a gossip aficionado. It’s one of the things that helps him with his foreign policy, IMO.
One time there was a yuge local issue that was a major source of contention. There was a newspaper reporter, a good one, covering the issue, and he was coming down fairly hard against the people on one side; people considered them NIMBYs.
I learned some gossip from a woman who lived in the affected area, she was one of the ‘NIMBYs’. Oh ho! That put things in a different light!
I called the reporter myself. “Did you know there was bad blood between (two of he major players in the story) and there has been personal animosity for a long time?”
His response- “I did not know that”.
After that, the tone of the reporting on the issue changed considerably. He was in possession of more knowledge.
My point here is, gossip is not necessarily a bad thing.

Most disturbing is how willingly they’ve surrendered their sovereignty. Watch them defer:

Robert Whitaker is an American journalist and author, writing primarily about medicine, science, and history. He is the author of five books, three of which cover the history or practice of modern psychiatry. He has won numerous awards for science writing, and in 1998 he was part of a team writing for the Boston Globe that was shortlisted for the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for a series of articles questioning the ethics of psychiatric research in which unsuspecting patients were given drugs expected to heighten their psychosis.
Whitaker was a medical writer at the Albany Times Union newspaper in Albany, New York from 1989 to 1994. In 1992, he was a Knight Science Journalism fellow at MIT. Following that, he became director of publications at Harvard Medical School. In 1994, he co-founded a publishing company, CenterWatch, that covered the pharmaceutical clinical trials industry.
In 2002, USA Today published Whitaker’s article “Mind drugs may hinder recovery” in its editorial/opinion section. In 2004, Whitaker published a paper in the non-peer-reviewed journal Medical Hypotheses, titled “The case against antipsychotic drugs: a 50-year record of doing more harm than good”. In 2005, he published his paper Anatomy of an Epidemic: Psychiatric Drugs and the Astonishing Rise of Mental Illness in America in the peer-reviewed journal Ethical Human Psychology and Psychiatry. In his book Anatomy of an Epidemic, published in 2010, Whitaker continued his work.
