IIRC it was John Roberts who wrote that this question couldn’t be asked, not because asking the question was illegal but because the court was unsure what motivated Trump’s administration to ask the question.

I know that the article is from Politico but it does address a serious issue that needs to be discussed. There are millions of low-income American Working Poor who have been forced on to Medicaid/food stamps, etc because the globalists have destroyed their economic opportunities. Many of them voted for President Trump and I do not want to see the baby thrown out with the bathwater!
Medicaid absolutely must be dismantled as it currently stands, but the House will lose the battle if they attempt to shut it down completely, IMHO!

I agree that it should NOT be shutdown completely. There are indeed a lot of people through no fault of their own whom are unable to afford the currently exorbitant cost of health insurance (said cost, predominately due to the mountains of regulations and obamacare related insanity and coverage, needs to be reduced post haste. It is most definitely an area that efficiency and common sense need to be applied to and an analysis by DOGE would be a good start.)
On the other hand there is a ton of fraud and abuse, as well as a large entitled class that believe they should be able to sit on their broad butts, watch soaps, and be taken care of. They should be removed – or required to work for their pay, be it cleaning, picking up trash, answering phones, SOMETHING. One also should get any increase in funding for more than 2 children. Keep your legs shut.
In regards to kicking non-citizens off – I think that anyone who is not a citizen should absolutely NOT be able to get a single penny in any form or fashion from the taxpayers – be it health care, food stamps, or other form of social welfare. Not a single one – full stop. They also should not be able to do so for a period of at least 5 years AFTER they have become a legal citizen AND worked continuously for the same 5 years.
