The company I worked for claimed to store our records there. I recall clients needing older records and we would tell them it will be a long process because they were stored at Iron Mountain.

Iron mountain has another repository in Scotts Valley, CA. It used to be a tunnel for the SF to Santa Cruz Suntan Special train.
They blew up the tunnels around WWII because they were afraid the Japanese could use the railroad.
The Scotts Valley tunnel became an Iron Mountain repository and supposedly stores old Hollywood films among other things.
Another tunnel was blocked and is used to supply water to a small community. The tunnels always had a problem with water seeping in.
They probably have these records repositories all over and we’re unaware of them. Pretty protected under a mountain or in an old mine and convenient at the time.
Why? Why the mine. Secret stuff going on? Why by hand and not digital? Better analyze the outcomes product and salaries of those Federal workers whose retirement “papers” are being processed.
How many millionaires are being created in that mine with our tax dollars?

It was Bove who excoriated the resigning S.D.N.Y. Attorney and placed other mutineers there on suspension yesterday, not Bondi. It was Bove who quarterbacked the Friday night mass firing at FBI the other week.
These early implanted sidecars, or wingmen, to the political appointees have the proven zeal and loyalty needed to exert the President’s will outside of the political CoC, and sidestepping the entrenched bureaucracy still there.
In at least two instances so far, they have projected the President’s will, as the Secretaries have stood silently by.

Most of the Board had been there for years because it was somewhat prestigious in the community but also they enjoyed the quite substantial monthly dinners and socializing with other business owners. All had positions on well-established committees for years, even decades….some rarely showed up for the monthly meetings because they often were merely pro forma. …meeting for the sake of meeting. In essence, the real work was done by a handful of staff with very little effort by “the Trustees.”
Eventually (after more than 50 years), it was decided to invite the first female into the previously all-male inner circle…me. Much to their dismay, I more or less put the majority of the established committees on hold and created monthly ad hoc, specific problem-solving, time-limited committees…assigning people (envoys!) who had specific skills. Resistance? Of course, because it wasn’t how it was done”, but eventually the 2+ hour monthly meetings with each standing Committee reporting their somewhat useless, inevitable results became a streamlined 60 minute, focused, productive evening.
As I read about Trump’s new management style it occurred to me that was more or less how I tried to run that Board. Kind of makes me feel good, I must admit! This was 50 years ago, BTW, and forgive me for indulging in personal recollections but as I often read here among regular posters who had business or even military experiences they look back upon with fresh eyes as events or information unfold, my eyes are seeing what I experienced at the time with new appreciation and understanding in this new Trump style.

That is great advice for a board and encouraging regarding Trump.
IMHO the Board is extremely important for NGO’s as we have recently seen in spades. Once there is a pot of money and influence, the organization is susceptible to being consumed by community organizing, Barack Obama style.
How many Main Street Boards have resulted in grants going to LGBTQ businesses as opposed to ones with great business plans? They worked their way all across America taking over boards of all kinds and tweaking the mission to promote progressive causes.
I knew one major donor who would only fund start ups. If they couldn’t float on their own after a reasonable time, then why starve out the funding to those who can?
I think there needs to be a rethink of how nonprofit boards are structured so that influential people, selected for all the right reasons cannot redirect the mission of the org.
I learned a long time ago in dealing with government and other entities that you need to look behind the curtain to see who is really pulling the strings.

Cases involving the US government could easily be dispersed to other the other districts.
In a case involving the United States, DC should have not be in a superior position than a court in an actual state. They aren’t even a state!!

Can the House refuse to fund the DC Courts?
Can DC judges be reassigned to another jurisdiction? If so, by whom.
The DC Courts and judges are lawless. No defendant in a DC court has any chance of a fair trial. Somehow, they must be dismantled and the earth around them buried in salt.

It is worrisome when I start seeing RFK Jr. talking about obesity being largely preventable and then going straight to “we could buy organic food”, because that’s just assuming we know all the causes already.
His original task within the first Trump administration was going to be “vaccine integrity”, I do think that should have at least gotten a brief mention in the EO.
There is a multitude of causes and issues in regards to the health of Americans, not just one. Should there be a priority order of attack – yes – but don’t be discouraged or think that all or at least most of them will be addressed simply because one is being discussed versus another.
That last is why I’ve started “counting spoons.” Medical center check-in in January had those useless paper masks by the reception desk. Sign essentially stated take one if it makes you feel more comfortable wearing one. I didn’t. Yesterday’s check-in sign stated in BOLD: Not mandatory, but STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.” I didn’t.
I fully expect the March sign to read “You MUST wear a mask beyond this point.” And what happens when I won’t?

Twenty years ago, the nursing schools in the Philippines were starting to close (according to some Philippine nurses I worked with). Those ladies all had two jobs, many with pensions. And when retiring, they all went back and built mansions. And they had huge homes here, too. I used to joke because it seemed it was the women who all worked very hard…not the men. I don’t know if they were citizens or not…or entitled to benefits, but worthy of a look see? Now we see at least where I am at…a lot of nurses from sub Saharan Africa.
We have many here who cannot get into nursing colleges but yet we are constantly bombarded with the idea of ‘nursing shortage’. To justify importing nurses. It is contrived by big business.

A man who works at an area hospital once observed that as soon as the foreign workers got here, they would purchase/lease a large SUV, and they would get fat.

In regards to Medicare – if they are retired and eligible for Medicare and pay their premiums, they do (and should) maintain their Medicare coverage. However, the amount paid to doctors should be based upon local rates, not U.S. rates or not on the rates that the medical establishment in an area think they can bilk the U.S. taxpayers out of.
In regards specifically to Medicaid – my view is if you are overseas you are NOT eligible. If you allow eligibility, then you get it through the last STATE that you were a legal resident of and the amount is based upon the lesser of the state you lived in OR the place you currently live. For example, in many places Americans go to retire overseas, 30K/year is living like a king money. You shouldn’t get extra assistance in such a case.

The VAST majority of the “problems” going on in this country could be easily fixed by simply requiring that EVERY level of the “voting” & “law making process” require nothing less than 85% to “pass”. You have to get 85% of the vote to be “elected”. A bill has to get 85% approval to “pass”, etc. NO constitutional amend required to do any of that. There is NOTHING magical or even sensible about having it be 50.1% In fact it’s asinine and assures massive DIVISION. Sure very few laws would be “passed”. GREAT. There would be basically UNIVERSAL agreement on everything the govt was doing. And THAT’s the way it should be. 50.1% is TYRANNY guys. SO easy to cheat that in. It would be almost impossible to “fake” 85% approval.

Georgia should simply say that they do not recognize the authority of the EU and withdraw from the EU. And throw that phony old president who lost in jail. I’m sure any sanctions they put in place can be counteracted by Russia.
As usual, the EU parlimentarians are wrong and full of it.
I very strongly suspect that the Georgian people don’t recognize their illegitimate authority and think they can go pound sand – and see the only way out as a complete departure from the corrupt, totalitarian EU.

They could have held her in criminal contempt, of course, until she produced the records and literally jailed her if she refused to comply — but didn’t. May I remind you that both sides of the aisle didn’t do that. So much for “Congressional oversight.”

Now we’re discovering that plenty of these very same people and their political entities were getting paid directly and indirectly with some of the indirect payments coming via campaign contributions from the very firms employees and similar that got the awards.
Gee, big shock that nobody on either side of the aisle wanted to throw the director in jail until the records were coughed up eh?

Acting Solicitor General has notified Congress that they are petitioning the Supreme Court to remove the protections on unconstitutional agencies such as Federal Trade Commission, National Labor Board, and Consumer Product Safety Commission.
They want the Supreme Court to reexamine Humphrey’s Executor which came out of the New Deal era that made these agencies independent of accountability to the people or the president.
Expect massive shock and pearl clutching with screams of dictator. Rechecking popcorn supplies.

My own hypothesis about a majority of the nose down crashes is the same one I’ve held for several years – vax induced sudden death of the pilots. I do hold out the possibility in this case that the pilot knew it was going down and intentional put the nose down so severely to put it in the water rather than into the populated city area.

I had a friend of mine in Hawaii who had to eject near the shore. A paddleboarder paddled over to him, loaded him on his paddleboard and paddled him to shore. Lol
