She would prescribe Paxlovid if I became ill, however. I did not bring up “off label” prescribing, because she is part of a large medical conglomerate that dictates what doctors can and cannot prescribe.
The treatment for the Wuhan is most effective when started at the first indication of illness – not waiting and then consulting a physician and then getting to a pharmacy, etc.

India has some of the highest tariffs on US goods in the world and has highly restrictive rules against foreign direct investment. Oh, and has monopolized HB1 visas. They would be very high on my target list.
Well, the new tariff rules that President just signed will take care of most if not all of the trade imbalance.
India is taking American office jobs like China takes factory jobs or Brazil takes farm jobs
Its time to Tariff India software and office offshoring AND also the internal company offshoring that happens
USA cities will never recover and grow when all office jobs end up in India
India also operates a lot of “boiler-room” type shops with English-speaking (sort of) Indians taking tech support calls, customer-service calls, etc.
A lot of work that is outsourced to Indian staffing firms in the US is in turn farmed out to jobbers in India making Indian wages.
That is an exported service taking advantage of India’s much lower wages. I wonder how that fits under the reciprocal tariff rules.

Yes; and although they’re the biggest source of abuse, any labor performed elsewhere where the labor itself is the product directly or indirectly (through contractors) provided to the US market needs to be tariffed to protect the US market and drive investment by our people in those skills.

I am watching this with more intensity than anything else DJT has done since being inaugurated. The H1B Visa situation has decimated the technology labor market in the US. It needs to be ended. Full stop. Our country is full of talented tech labor that have been languishing and unemployed for YEARS now.
I am in the tech sector for 30 years. Now, more than ever, H1B is not even needed to offshore / outsource anything. Mabye we get a big win for shutting it down for all involved, but it literally feels like an starklink connection and a zoom call and you can still have your H1 resource as before but they are on a sailboat in antarctica…..No change in US jobs.
My software engineer husband has been out of work for a year now…he has lost repeated jobs to H1B’s…most hiring managers now in tech world are Indian’s who always hire their own. I have seen it up close and personal in my own hiring world (I am a recruiter in the accounting/finance space)…Visa hires and offshoring…US Jobs are leaving the US at a rapid pace and truthfully, no one seems to care…
Hiring “their own” is not the same thing as H1B. Welcome to reality.

What I found out is that Modi agreed to the pipeline that has been envisioned between India, through Saudi Arabia and the UAE, then through Israel and on to Europe.
This pipeline is a slap in the face to China, and is a boon to all countries involved. India gets oil and gas, Saudi Arabia, UAE and possibly Israel get to sell gas/oil, and Europe is badly in need of oil or gas.
It’s quite an interesting plan.
