This is a good strategic move. Security Clearances are the credentialed currency of those who work in the DC administrative state. Specifically, a lawyer inside the DC machine is essentially of no value without a security clearance.
Additionally, the absence of a security clearance opens up both parties in DC to legal exposure from discussing or receiving information that is defined by the apparatus as NSI (national security information). And the cherry on the top of the proverbial cake is that Lawfare uses their definitions of NSI in an attempt to stop sunlight on their corrupt activity.

President Trump entered his first term without a good understanding of the power of the presidency or the way Washington DC works. He had duplicitous advisors and other enemies in the GOPe political apparatus gaslight him about what he could and could not do. For example, he was threatened with impeachment and conviction if he were to hold Lawfare operatives accountable for their illegal and unethical actions. He has no such fear, and he knows exactly what his power is now.
One thing I think he must do: no special council may be appointed without presidential approval. Had that little tweak been in place in 2017 it would’ve saved him and us all a lot of trouble.
And he’s not eligible for re-election so that takes a lot of the politics out of the equation especially after the midterms.

The rest of our grands are the same because their parents have followed through from the beginning.
Your beloved’s experience with Catholic schools I hope today is still in effect. We do generations which follow us no service by ignoring the teaching of this precious building block which makes us a civilized society. We feed our children, clothe them, watch for their safety…but too many parents ignore the one thing which makes them in their adulthood a joy to be around and their lives richer.

“Banning” can be problematic. If overbroad, generally they’re stuck down due to First Amendment issues. Those that ‘pass muster’ are generally narrowly tailored (e.g. a shoplifting defendant can have a probation term they may not enter the Macy’s location where the theft occurred, but a probation term denying access to all Macy’s stores may be suspect).
Las Vegas has a law for the strip where people convicted of certain are not allowed to be in certain parts of the city (tourist areas).
I haven’t heard any of the civil rights types complaining yet.

I once had one (don’t live in the area) and a program manager in DC I worked with told me that once you have a security clearance in DC you will never be without a job.
