I will never forget the images of dozens of SUVs loudly bearing down on a modest house situated on a country road surrounded by trees, in the predawn light. Similar properties line the road. Dozens of agents armed to the teeth waking up a family, small children huddling against their mother as the agents take away their father, for a f’ng misdemeanor…three years later. So many stories like this. So many families torn apart, lives upended, by agents of the American Gestapo ‘following orders’ instead of honoring their oath to uphold the Constitution of the USA.

If Lindsey and others in Congress think warrantless searches are so good for the American people then they each must choose whether they are among the American people or the unAmerican people–the holier than thou all-knowing do gooder keepers of the knowledge but tellers of what WE, THE PEOPLE should do, when we should do it and how we should do it!!
On a percentage basis, I would venture that the crimes committed by members of Congress (insider trading, grift from lobbyists, etc) would be far greater than crimes committed by the general public!
But is she the one that decides that, or are they wanting some high-level publicity saying it’s OK?
Under the new intelligence structure, how important is ODNI? Also, how much “influence” does ODNI have over the warrantless data collections and reporting systems?
Where does the “permitting” start? In part it starts with the law and with POTUS. She can say whatever she wants to the Senators. If Trump does or says something, that’s what it is.
Trump is the intelligence chair under the new structure. ODNI might be the delegate at different times but I can’t imagine Trump, as IC chair, would miss too many meetings.
