Senate Majority Leader John Thune is maintaining his pro-Trump agenda position into day #4 of the administration. Thune appears with the insufferable Sean Hannity to discuss his recent meetings with President Trump and Speaker Johnson, as well as the plans and forecast for legislative support of the American First agenda.

I must say, I’m shocked and very surprised at how well Thune and the senators have responded thus far. I’m cautiously optimistic.
Thune is at least putting up a great front. I first noticed it with the support Hegseth received during his hearing. It wouldn’t have happened without Thune giving a thumbs up. I’m also pleased that he’s forcing the senate to staying and working over the weekend to get picks confirmed.
I hope this continues. If democrats want to slow it down, make them stay and work 7 days a week for months. I know this also takes a toll on the republicans. I think the ultimate tool, if this delay tactic goes on for too long, is Thune to say, we have no choice BUT to go into recess and allow President Trump recess appointments.
That would be the ultimate show of support. We shall see. Time will tell. God Bless 47.

I have written before about how recess appointments are not currently been lawfully used as provided in the Constitution, so there’s that. Those that want to pervert the permitting clause have to ignore the words, “that may happen during…”

Well stated, and I hope that you are totally correct. I really like the fsact that Thune demands all Cabinet appointments before a Senate recess. I am still cautiously optimistic about Senator Thune, but really would like Senator Rand Paul in that position. We will see how Mike Johnson does. I write my Senators and “Rep” on a regulat basis. Senator Hagerty has been doing a good job.

Thune wants power and to keep his seat. If he’s smart, he knows that supporting MAGA is how he’ll do that. I don’t believe he actually cares or supports MAGA, but all I care about is how he votes to make sure it happens. He’s our useful idiot.

trustoptimism left that any politician in Washington DC actually means what they say and will do what they say.With the 800 pound gorilla in the room, the mandate given President Trump in the election…… I would not expect any swamp members to commit political suicide moving in opposition to the president’s agenda. No blatant nor obvious opposition will likely occur right now. What happens behind the scenes and their actions is another matter in DC.

Body language of Sen Thune was okay up to a point, the point of DOGE being discussed. I think he is prepared to support some big moves like education back to the states. The Congress should have very little say in how President Trump reorganizes, restructures and cuts the executive branch. Each GOP member of Congress will be cheerleaders for a time until a cut is proposed in their backyard.
We’ll see. Sen Thune said all the right things…….confirm the cabinet swiftly and that act would speak loudest.

Look at it like this…..a political 911 occurred with the President Trump rallies and the re-election back into office. If things in DC worked like they would have you believe they do…..the GOP would be curb stomping the Dims daily into oblivion. The Dims can’t help themselves in providing plenty of ammunition. The mid terms coming up should be a GOP landslide. The down ballot incongruity this past fall tells us not only is election fraud ongoing but that the balance supporting political theater will be preserved.
Since moving parts of the federal bureaucracy (the ones not eliminated) out of DC is a great idea, it might be a clever move that gives Thune incentive to say on-side for Trump to shift a whole department to North Dakota. Plus I love the idea of bureaucrats forced to live in North Dakota in the winter 😂. Many would quit, so win-win

This is actually a tactic that happened in the Obama administration. While most of the alphabet agencies have been corrupt for a long time, they weren’t as bad and as woke as they are now. Many agencies had a lot of decentralized management. Then his administration decided to centralize management in DC. He knew the effect. Many top level people in the decentralized agencies had family and were rooted in their communities. They weren’t going to uproot their families and children to move to DC. So, many retired or quit. This gave the opportunities to move far left loons into those positions. We’ve seen (and felt) those destructive consequences. Time to reverse this and decentralize again.

I watched Hannity interview PDJT, then Thune.
The interview with PDJT was a power struggle between the two of them, but PDJT was in control, still able to appear at ease, and project confidence that he knows the score, and it laser focused on the benefit of the American people, not revenge. Hannity trying to tell the American people how much of a friend he is to PDJT (when he has clearly opposed him in the past while pretending to be for him)
Thune and Hannity were relaxed with each other, working together to deliver an agreed on message. The Senate supports PDJT and what the American people have asked for [a lie], and we have this 60 vote majority that’s required, you see… and its gonna be hard. And some of our senators have to answer to their local voters and might be hard to persuade … but we’re gonna work hard to get what the American people need … but its gonna be hard … and we support the amazing President Trump… but its gonna be hard.
Thune sounded wonderful. Thune looked wonderful and sincere. He projects knowledge, confidence, and care. He’s good at what he does. He’s lying.
The RINOS are the most evil. Their carefully crafted images, stages, scripts, and pretend theaters. I rarely have the free time to watch whole interviews. While America is distracted with many other things, a 4 Trillion dollar a year medical industrial complex is silo-ing the crap out of our own health care converting doctors into signature slaves that generate millions of dollars a day to line others pockets in order get meager benefit for the patients who need the care. Nurses are being burned out. Patients and their diagnoses are being used as income generators rather than people who need medical care.
Health care should be a major topic in the news, the atrocities of our system exposed, the regression of effectiveness exposed. I can’t see RFKJr or Dr OZ having the ability to take down what exists and rebuild something good. They are just going to make a lot of drama exposing a small amount of what is not good. PDJT could. I digress…

The ability to keep these promises to PDJT and to the American people is now the first, biggest most consequential, hi-vis test of Thune’s leadership.
