I am very interested in this, in part due to what Suchir Balaji was working on, and in part due to what many people are now starting to recognize as the most valuable asset in the world of AI creation, MASS DATA COLLECTION.
Tucker Carlson sits down with Poornima Ramarao, the mother of Suchir Balaji, who was an AI engineer working with Sam Altman at OpenAI, and quite likely murdered for his concern about how the mass data was being captured.
The effectiveness of the AI construct is dependent on large scale mass data collection to frame the underlying information network the AI can review. The larger the data capture, the more accurate, effective and valuable the AI outcome is. More inputs equal more reviewable data, equal a more comprehensive outcome; that’s the value. Suchir Balaji became concerned that OpenAI was capturing “copyrighted” material as part of the input data flow. Suchir Balaji soon died under mysterious circumstances. [¹I’ll explain my concern after the video]

¹If you understand the competitive nature of this emerging tech business, specifically as it relates to the multi-billion dollars invested in the AI race to create the best product, then you frame the construct of what is most valuable within the industry.
The more comprehensive and massive the database is, the larger the mass data collection baseline is, the more valuable the AI product is when it is deployed. The AI here is essentially advanced search algorithms that allow the user to ask questions.
The AI does the search, the library that supports the outcome is what creates the value of the end product, the result to the question.
As a consequence, the library or database holding the previously assembled data, is worth hundreds-of-billions. The AI return result is more accurate with more data to review.
All of the thinking, analysis, mental labor and analysis on every subject in the world being fed into a massive data collection system, creates incredibly accurate AI results. However, much of that data is proprietary, copyrighted and exclusively owned by the person who created it, or institution that commissioned the work.
Suchir Balaji was in charge of scooping up data, enmeshing it in the OpenAI library and noticed that some of the captured information was proprietary, copyrighted. Balaji raised alarms and eventually became a whistleblower, because he saw OpenAI was now capturing the exclusive mental work product of others and then adding it to their AI system to create even more value.
I hope that context makes sense, because it’s the baseline for my concern with Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks and the tech bros who are also part of this advanced autonomous AI competition. There are trillions at stake.
Is DOGE really about government efficiency?… Or…
Is it possible that DOGE is just a false front while simultaneously carrying a larger, unspoken goal of accessing the largest data collection system in the world, the NSA database containing the full spectrum metadata of every American and every electronic communication intercept on earth.
AI is valued based on mass data collection to create the library for the software to access. Is there a larger data collection system than the United States Government? The answer is no.
AI running on the backbone of the full NSA-level data collection, would be the most valuable AI in the world.
Think about it.
What are the real motives and intentions of the Tech Bros here in MAGA world, and the billionaires behind them?

That’s a great question and analysis @sundance but what are we to do about it? It looks like warp speed ahead to HAL 9000 and 2001 Space Odyssey and beyond. The tech bros or tech bots are blindly leading us to oblivion and PDJT is not sophisticated enough to see this happening very quickly on his watch. Pandora’s box is open and all hell is breaking lose in AI. Do we hope that Tim Cook’s Apple will be able to protect us from AI and all of the privacy issues from the NSA computers? I think the only saving grace may be that once PDJT is in power more people’s eyes will be open to what the Tech Bros are implementing and maybe put a stop to them. During Trump’s first administration a lot of people around the world and in the U.S. became aware of what was happening in the world and and in the U.S. because Trump was President. Hopefully the eye opening happens again because Trump is in power again.
President Trump is not dumb. He knows. Trump is part of the tech AI Meta Data Inc. collection of Americans.
PauseAI is a good organization to reach out too.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us: be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
Amen
Surprise! The Cloud is just an NSA data farm in Provo Utah.
A massive server farm of mega Terabyte servers…all likely running on black technologies.
Amen. Can’t pray this prayer too many times every day.
Prayers aside, but we’re called by God to be active, not passively cowering waiting for someone to protect us. Yes, I pray each day for Divine protection but recognize it’s my responsibility to be awake and aware, ready to do what I can to thwart evil. Sundance’s concerns are precisely why I’ve been calling out Musk. Musk is currently collecting ALL data collected from posts, attachments, videos and memes and being fed into his Grok. He’s been silent about Grok but initially pledged to have the most inclusive AI. I believe that’s why he opened the gates, restoring all former Twitter accounts, offering spaces to entice greater conversation and alluring subscribers with unlimited data volumes. I’ve previously noted Musk’s close relationships with the CCP, his largest factory in the Shanghai Tesla facility, his praise for how China manages its people (social credit). I’ve brought attention to how ALL major social media platforms were DARPA projects placing whiz kids at the helm. I’ve drawn attention to Musk inserting himself into foreign and domestic issues all which I now believe to feed his beast and explains why he’s so willing to expose his core psyche. I’ve noted how Musk recommended a Dept of Efficiency to Trump orbit which was quickly accepted and formally instituted as DOGE which Musk named. Also I predict Musk will attempt to use his Grok AI to assist in a rapid review of govt agencies with logic to Trump it will jump start DOGE. Think about how dangerous Elon Musk really is. Musk lured Alex Jones onto X, offered tech assistance on holding spaces, open approval for livestream his InfoWars programming – all earning Jones >$25K/month in revenues. Jones reach is now easily in excess of 50million per day WITH comments for all livestreams as well as active chat. Jone’s is hooked and is nothing more than promoting Musk in nearly EVERY topic he reports on in many cases elevating Musk over Trump. NONE of Musk’s activities are because of his genius. I believe it’s the culmination of carefully designed strategy and planning of others with Musk being the whiz kid frontman. People need to wake up – it’s no longer about how to set the VCR clock. We’re already behind figuring out how to stop monsters like this guy?
I wonder if people felt similarly when the first public libraries were established? A building full of copyrighted and proprietary information that people could take home, read and copy for free.
Except in this case, you are not going to the library. You are sending someone else to read and interpret for you. Nor do you ever see the originating source material for the opinion they return with.
Keep in mind, this is only one small aspect. The gateway for surveillance is enmeshed within this AI library construct. The library is not giving you the library card, the federal government is.
What does not make sense to me is that the IC marxists don’t go after you, Sundance?
All of your research yet nothing. I don’t want anything to happen to you. Scary times and now I don’t trust anyone.
…. THEY DO GO AFTER HIM
It’s all about citing references and authorities.
Are we even 20 years away from Skynet being activated? Skynet went online on August 4th and 25 days later became self aware. We are living in a nightmare.
Self aware? It’s a man-made machine doing what it’s programmed to do.
It’s the greedy, power-hungry programmers to be worried about.
They are trapping us all in a system most do not recognize has different motives.
You will encounter unbelievable friction attempting to exit their data collection tyranny at different points: harassment, investigation, false accusations, fines, infringement of rights, …
Most dont want to deal with the nightmare, so…here we are.
Brings to mind the movie “Eagle Eye”, but there the AI attacked the government. If only…
And as noted in Tucker’s interview,, death can be part of the friction and nightmare you make note of!
It sounds like AI will completely overrun copyright law unless there is a movement to protect individual ownership of the written word. What form this can take is difficult to imagine.
AI is plagarism writ large, and plagarism is already hard to ferret out. However, the enormous data-management technology that makes AI possible should also be capable of identifying and encapsulating copyright text, and preventing it from from unauthorized corruption.
Have any software engineers turned their attention to this problem yet? How about the Congress, which will be responsible for updating the Copyright Codes?
Individuals and corporate needs will help to override copyright infringements.
How you ask? If AI can give a doctor answers on exactly how to cure your cancer or your wifes or mom etc etc. you will have no problems that AI used cancer cure copyrights to do so. It’s only this one time. Right?
That and the company that used AI to give up the cancer cure to the doctor for you or your loved ones made a lot of money to do so.
Know this may not be the best example, but it illustrates on a micro level that which we are dealing with. 😤 open your mind up to the possibilities.
Imagine the govt and our IC being able to:
The plagiarism already is rampant. I get so sick and tired of searching for the answer to a question, only to get mush-mouthed (anthropomorphism, I know) answers from AI robots that are exactly the same and often contradictory within their own essays. Someone, somewhere, originally wrote the information that’s being spewed back by unintelligent “artificial intelligence.” I’m not even sure that AI, as used by the powers that be, is intended to be intelligent but is, instead, simply an excuse to install mass surveillance. It’s useless, imo. I waste so much time trying to find a definitive, truthful answer to a simple question. Google worked far better when it was first instituted. It’s useless now. Am I the only person who thinks so?
AI is used to “understand” and to “rephrase” knowledge. What it outputs, in my experience is riddled with inaccuracies but I understand the reasons why.
AI is definitely not a catalog of copies of everything regurgitated at request in a prompt. It has the capability of referencing unprocessed data, but most of its resources are PROCESSED data. When you think of how a human mind works, we do not take in “everything.” We take in everything meaningful. This is how the compression happens and where imagination fills in the gaps without our noticing. AI does the same thing.
And can be manipulated and used against people. Social media is the modern day honey trap. It’ no longer cool to claim being ignorant of tech.
Libraries at least pay for the books they acquire. Our modern road to serfdom wants everything for free.
Libraries purchase copies of movies or TV shows to “loan” out online to card holders. I recently learned, however, that the libraries have to pay for the videos over and over again. My library is therefore limiting the number of “holds” people can put on a video and how many they can view in a month. Books, once purchased, can be loaned out as many times as people want.
Libraries don’t take jobs on a massive scale.
“What are the real motives and intentions of the Tech Bros here in MAGA world, and the billionaires behind them?”
Money. Power. Control. The trifecta for any evil entity.
They and their mindless followers actually fancy themselves characters out of sci-fi fantasy books. It’s creepy.
They want to replace and destroy God.
the followers are paid to do so, especially for online influence.
BINGO!!!

Have AI, Will Kill
Where’s Paladin when you need him?
Skynet is not fictional any more.
Skynet is a fictional artificial neural network-based conscious group mind and artificial general superintelligence system that serves as the main antagonist of the Terminator franchise.
Skynet in the fictional movie removed opposition.
Open AI removed opposition.
Skynet Fiction has become reality with open AI because it saw a threat to its existance.
Who is next?
I should have read down a bit before I posted.
Another analogy of AI to Skynet is the Borg … a self aware, meta-absorbing of all things StarTrek entity –
“Assimilation is inevitable, resistance is futile”.
As with the Terminator story, it is compelling because we know underneath the drama, this represents deep truths.
And those chips get a virus…….. The Borg haunts me.
Sundance always is looking ahead, it may work ok now. But when a bad actor takes over……Lawfare will look like child’s play.
.
Why and under what circumstances would the DOGE guys, who are not going to be paid employees of the U.S. government, or necessarily given security clearances, be given access to the NSA database?
Yes we can assume that they have their wants, the most obvious being given closest competitive access to Trump in furtherance of their government contracts, misc. corporate welfare, and business interests vis a vis laws and regulations.
But that’s not tantamount to giving them access to military intelligence, or confidential DOJ investigations, or DARPA projects, and the like — or authority to let non-vetted hirees in to scrape up data. They are strategy, and financial advisory only. I don’t understand this concern.
In the case of ostensible copyright violations, I’m not at all sure that I understand this concern either, except possibly from a techie code-writing AI-competing standpoint, were those trade secrets, underlying code on stuff that is publicly available or gettable, to be scooped up.
Ideas and information cannot be copyrighted. Only the way they are communicated (the precise words, or the creative art involved.) AI scrapings of what is available on the internet, however obscure, including buried metadata and background code, unless reproduced by AI in a way that plagiarizes someone else’s work, for the most part doesn’t do it.
So the only “copyright” problem I can see is maybe the opportunity to glean another techie’s code that somehow couldn’t be written otherwise to achieve the same ends (doubtful). And that’s a narrow PO’d tech industry nerd-type squabble that I just don’t see actually affecting much because of the taking of this by AI.
Now I have seen a couple of instances in which publishing company contracts have incorporated new provisions that their author’s works may not be used by AI for the purpose of AI learning, teaching and so forth, out of a concern (and I don’t know how realistic it is) that, e.g. the AI would be able to write the book and movie sequels. I’m not sure that I grasp either the risk in this, since any human being with access to something that has been published, from a Disney movie to a TV show to any book written, could write a sequel, and would be subject to copyright laws for what then is plagiarized outright.
.
The circumstances under which the DOGE team would promote AI for govt efficiency are not hard to figure out. AI can automate many of the functions of government, including citizen contact and auto-responses therein.
It’s true, and it’s a reality that AI can make government systems far more efficient just like computers did within the old paper system. However, once you open up the vast govt library to AI exploit, where does it stop?
Elon already played the prequel publicly, remember the 1,500 page bill. And MAGA fans loved it….and will beg for more.
“Where does it stop?” And that’s the question. A door has been opened to a black hole of devastating, destructive potentials. However, God is still on His throne … In Him alone I trust.
Citizen Contact…… I call that noncontact. One of my gripes with big companies too. You call and wait and wait some more. You receive a canned answer that truly does not help.
We have to reduce the size of the Federal Government, Reduce the Size of State Government, and Reduce the Size the These Large Corporations. Ma Bell gave birth to the Baby Bells and innovation was unleashed.
These Big Banks, Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Farm need to be exploded into bits.
Alas, it does not stop. It creeps like kudzu until it envelopes all the living things in its path.
.
Okay. I’ve never been comfortable in the first place with networking various agencies together. There’s efficiency and then there’s creating unnecessary exposure.
.
So there was no whistle for Suchir Balaji to be blowing?
.
I don’t know. I was talking with some “involved” a few months ago, and seemed to me that a lot of what’s going on is techies competing with each other and griping and so on. Money and backstabbing egos. (“My AI is better/safer than your AI”.)
I listened to the video and honestly I feel for this grieving mother but she didn’t seem to have much other than “My son was a whistleblower and now he’s dead.”
.
Oh you have missed quite a bit.
K12 education itself has become a AI data engine industry. The children are the product.
RE copyright, there are apps doing precisely that, taking without express permission. And schools are requiring it!
.
Taking what? I don’t understand your comment. Are you referring to that emotional learning crap that Garland’s son-in-law has been peddling? Or are you saying that AI is distributing copyrighted materials in violation of copyright law?
.
.
More thoughts…
This isn’t a copyright issue, but is this about which Big Tech firm might get a contract to run the NSA database? Assuming the database continues, and putting that issue aside for the moment, any “cloud-type” contract would of necessity have to maintain all the restrictions that would be needed currently, including inter alia, restrictions on access and sharing and deletions and so forth. That would include sharing with other AI systems for “learning”.
But it this is going to happen, and I’m not expressing any opinion on whether it’s a good idea or not, I still don’t see what it has to do directly with DOGE per se, “one” of the Big Tech companies still would get the contract, DOGE or Musk now uniquely sidling up to Trump, or no.
.
Sundance sees it. It is bad, but not too hard to evade for now. Kinna like clot shots.
Your concerns are starting to penetrate thick idealistic stances. Keep up the good work Sundance.
My interjection: what entities (governments, power systems) might have the wherewithal to affect the creation of an AI effort that could rival or at least play a role. While stating China as one and Team DOGE another. I’d say a concerning one from a nine eleven perspective would be middle east finances with ill intent.
2 Points worth considering (30,000 ft view)
1 A careful study of technological development (history of technology) has a well documented operation that looks something like this:
This is the REAL history of microsoft and individual computers, Palantir, Google, Facebook, NSA/Enigma, F-117 locked skunkworks, the overt story of Manhattan project and on and on. The commercial side is a roll-out with controlled winners and losers and a “house rake” built in.
Mark Andreeson interview w Rogan points to him “seeing and whistleblowing” on the process when being told that AI startups would be “non-players” and the “roll-out” (my words) was controlled. It must be noted that Andreeson shared that they were confident of their ability to get their way here in that they had removed (deleted/classified) whole areas of science (Quatum/AI, gravitics? and others) from public knowledge.
2 I expect the term “copyright” ought to be expanded to include patents
and
The data bases mined/exploited included both deliberate and inadvertent uploads of highly classified and extremely valuable material that was Rapidly connected to reality with AI
I have a working theory that these “links” through AI include extremely damaging links politically including for instance bona-fides of obama, activity of deepstaters like soros and schwab, funding flows for clinton foundation and similar, and potentially rapid assessment of trafficking networks.
Yes.
Prescient for Sure James. 💪🏼👍
YES, all of this. Do not underestimate the EdTech and MedTech platforms that all rely on the cloud (bigTech)
Dont forget about the data breaches, who can get access to breached data?
The amount of data being compiled on children via school apps and tech is mind blowing.
There are solutions. Refuse to use their apps and tech. Demand paper.
Appears Elon is concerned about this too, or at least isn’t ignoring the story. I’m still hopeful he’s one of the good guys in all this.

Elon Musk’s acquisition of the Twitter data base was worth how much? Was it worth 45 Billion dollars or maybe more?
Comment of the day,, so far! 👏
Sounds a bit like the movie “Antitrust”.
Sounds like a LOT of movies… Enemy of the State, 1984, 2001, Minority Report, Star Trek movies (& episodes) with the Borg, The Matrix, remake of Farenheit 451 was pretty chilling, 5th Element, * a couple of others I can’t remember the titles.
Great list. My personal fav was “They Live”.
That one was good too. Have you per chance seen “Equilibrium? That one weirded me out in a different way, every one is required to take these pills every day to repress ALL emotion. It gets pretty freaky & has Christian Bale in it as the lead.

We made airplanes. At first none had guns. Pilots threw things at other planes. Then they took small arms into the cockpit to shoot at each other. Then machine guns were mounted in observer seats. Then the synchronous propeller was developed so the machine guns could be operated by the pilot. Now we have beyond visual range missiles… Typically we develop ways to keep our own technology in check.
It’s “in check” is it?
Elon Musk broke away from Sam. Elon helped the mother spread awareness and tweeted to her.

There is a new feature on all iPhones and iPads, Apple products , hidden in settings, called “ learn from this app”. It’s apples new data collection method. It’s toggled on, in every single app on your device , after latest upgrade.
‘They’re recording, listening and taking every bit of data from your phone. Every phone call, email, note, podcast, text message, everything. For AI databases. you need to go to your settings and toggle off under every app.
FYI, I learned this on tik tok.
Go to settings on your phone
Go to apps
Go to phone
Go to Siri
Turn off “ learn from this app “
Repeat on all apps to disconnect Apple from collecting your data and conversations
They’re listening and recording everything through that update “ learn from this app “ on all Apple devices.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! Already did it as soon as I saw your post. Many thanks.
On mine it’s shown as “Siri and Search”. Thanks for this info. Just turned mine all off. I’m sure when there is an update, they will all be turned back on again.
Good advice.
For many years I’ve kept siri disabled too. After turning it off in the main settings, you still need to turn it off in each individual app as well.
Best to use as minimal apps as possible– b/c you are the product. All have backdoors too.
I’m not a tech savvy person- at all! While I have over the years muddled my way through building websites, setting up a wireless network (a nightmare before modems did it for you!), countless repairing of MS flaws- mostly I get lucky… b/c Idk wth I’m actually doing. 😁
As for locking down ph settings, I knew nothing about until someone showed me remotely. I’ve no clue who that someone was, but I figure it must make it a little harder for other outsiders to gain access. 🤷🏻♀️
*FWIW- I always turn off wifi & BT when my ph leaves the house. No idea if it serves any purpose… but I figure it’s best not to be connecting to every signal you encounter.
Never use public wifi either!
Thank you.
Wow! Thank you so much! Like another reply, I turned off Siri long ago and thought I was good to go. This is pervasive and insidious. I have a lot of work to do turning this off, which also opens my eyes to the reality that I have way too many apps on my phone!
Also, I just figured out if you go into siri first and THEN in to apps at the bottom of siri, it lists all the apps easily in one spot for quicker shutdown.
Yes, this is definitely the way to do it.
Does anyone know if this can be done on a regular iphone? I don’t have an Apple.
iphones come from Apple.
I have an iPhone 13. There is no “Learn from this app” under Siri.
You might not have latest Apple update. It’s new on latest update.
Great advice! Recently bought an iPhone 15 specifically because it does not support Apple intelligence (and will be supported until 2030). Also if you use 2FA SMS text messages you should consider immediately switching to using a hardware key (e.g., Yubikey) or authenticator app (e.g., Symantec VIP, Free OTP, etc.) on your financial accounts, emails, Amazon etc. As previously noted, low level employees, often working remotely, are selling now selling customer information on the dark web. Your user name, password available on the dark web combined with the ChiComs hacked nearly every major US telecom is a bad combination.
Smells like a red herring — “Sources say” that President Trump “… has encouraged Ramaswamy to accept the appointment if DeWine offers it.”
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/vivek-ramaswamy-emerges-surprise-prospect-vances-old-senate-seat-rcna187883
Possibly President Trump is having second thoughts about Ramaswamy at DOGE?
Maybe Elon wants it all for himself.
“AI running on the backbone of the full NSA-level data collection, would be the most valuable AI in the world.”
And thus, SkyNet was born.
Huge 800 pound gorilla in the room. We may have been outflanked by the tech cabal. But getting Mike Turner out of his house intel committee chairmanship position was a good move.
“…outflanked by the tech cabal…”
seems almost like a beast .
I’d rather take my chances with the Tech cabal than the Harris-Walz adminstration.
‘ Is it possible that DOGE is just a false front while simultaneously carrying a larger, unspoken goal of accessing the largest data collection system in the world, the NSA database containing the full spectrum metadata of every American and every electronic communication intercept on earth. ‘ ?
Or could this suggestion itself be a Limited Hangout?
That DOGE is, above all, a means to create more disruption, chaos, psyop anxiety ripple effects and harms, economic decimation, all by attacking the myriad dependencies upon government largesse at the root: Government and contractors.
Watch as things unfold. DOGE will bog down, already “F YOURSELF IN THE FACE” Elon is backpedaling, saying that $1T savings is more likely, not $2T as originally boasted. Soon it will be $500B, then $400B, … ultimately it will be maybe $100B or less. But the savings is the red herring pretext, not the main goal.
among other nefarious intents & purposes, it’s a way for FYINTF elon to monitor …and thus avoid various rules & regs …and the various investigations already underway and the lawsuits related to his violations of said rules & regs… mainly over safety issues…and then get rid of those pesky “bureaucrats”.
Jan 6th there was no insurrection how do I know. .In Co they tried to keep Trump off the ballot they said he committed and insurrection…The US supreme court comeback 8 to 0 you cant keep Trump off he committed no insurrection. Jack Smith was a BS Lawfare scam. off subject but important
I am not the brightest bulb in the fixture but I have Jesus to lead me thru the darkness dont be deceived test all the spirits this AI spirit stinks to High Heaven.
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.
5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.
6 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.
8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
10 At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.
11 Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.
13 But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. Perilous Times (Matthew 24:4, NASB)
I believe you are right on target here. One thing you didn’t mention was Elon fight with Sam, now we see this poor mother accusing Sam of murder.
After some thought:
Extremely!🤷🏻♂️
Very sad and my heart goes out to his mom–we live amongst monsters.
There have always been monsters.
George Webb has been ‘all over’ this story since about mid-December.

Their real motivation is wealth and power. That’s it. They are narcissists and power control freaks.
The concern, plain and simple, of regular folks like myself is, the 4th Amendment guarantees my security of my information (papers). Every marketing company that scoops it up via the Internet is in violation of that right regardless of their “privacy policy”. Every organization that stores my information (healthcare, banking, etc.), and shares it is in violation of the 4th Amendment. When I get those privacy notices they go in the circular file because it’s just so much BS.
The Patriot Act allowed the government to scoop up everything, anywhere they want, for no reason at all. Every text, phone call, email, post gets scooped up. Connected to FISA-702, it means that if you are an American and the Powers That Be decide they don’t like you because you are white, a Christian, pro-Trump, pro-Life, anti-Sin encoded in Law, or pick anything that’s not popular right now, they’ll come after you. They know where you sleep. Get the picture?
My information in the wrong hands guarantees my genocide. If we can take a note from the crazy Lefties who will burn down, kill, harrass, harangue, and make people’s lives miserbale for disagreeing with their ideology, that’s the standard of what we can expect.
It is a huge concern. FISA-702 and the tech bros need to be reigned in. I personally would like to FISA-702 destroyed and the tech companies under severe regulations in regards to personal information.
God already beat them to it. Wrote a lovely operating guide called the Bible that half of the world ignores. Relax.
“AI Facial Recognition Software Is Fueling A Rise In False Arrests”
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/ai-facial-recognition-software-fueling-rise-false-arrests
I find the matter of AI and copyright interesting in that so many “creative” software application utilize AI while at the same time people who use it want to claim copyright. This is a mess of sludge piling up waiting for a deluge of legal battles. I find it especially strange that “artists” are at all interested in AI as it is not a “technique” or a “tool.” It is nothing less than a shortcut.
In short, I think AI is a tremendous comedy which we will find is fueled by managers who want to reduce labor costs. Will it be defeated by the greedy copyright interests who paid for the DMCA to curse the world?
What will the “value” be of “creative work created by a machine algorithm based on the work of humans?” I guess we will soon see.
The human concept of “art” is the “look what I did” factor and the value of “art” is based on “who” did it. When there is no “I” who did it and no “who” to attribute? Where’s the value.
This is where human development stop. People stop learning and depend on machines for everything. Eat, sleep, maybe work, buy things. If the machines stop serving those people, they will ALL die.
THERE IS ALREADY AI IN THE NSA DATABASE
The tremendous amount of data requires it. At first is was simple AI able to ID people from voices and creating transcripts of all conversations. Many reports generated from the output of AI review they called “meta data.” You can’t have metadata without the data having been deeply reviewed. Metadata isn’t merely “who called who and when.” It’s who called who and what they talked about.
Instead of imagining if AI gets into the NSA database? Try to imagine such huge piles of data WITHOUT it!
What are you doing Hal? I can’t let you do that Hal. HAL 9000 for real this time.
The only way AI can be productive to humanity is through mass data collection. It’s the only way this works. Questions is, how comfortable are we with government collecting your information for the “good” of humanity? History tells us this is a BAD idea. We’re not there collectively from a consciousness level to handle such a sharp razor blade. We’re monkeys attempting to juggle the sharpest knives in the world. Good luck everyone!
Disappointed that treepers don’t seem to grasp just how dangerous AI is. Doesn’t matter if it never reaches human intelligence. All that matters is that someone with money is willing to wrongfully replace humans with it.
Navy Pelosi invested in it, remember.
Apologies to all, but this discussion, ongoing for months, seems largely disjoint, emotionally charged, and unstructured.
The AI train left the station in the 1950s. It is not going to be stopped.
AI evolution has traced a jagged path, sprint and drift, for decades until technology, money, understanding and capacity eventually caught up to requirements. At its heart, it symbolizes the eternal human quests to explore, acquire knowledge, solve problems, address boundless/restless/shere curiosity. The actual participation in this human process is much broader than tech bro characterizations: scientists, philosophers, medical professionals, ethicists, investors, beneficiaries, business efficiency managers, tech pro capitalists, government/private/academic R&D researchers, and dozens others.
Shadowing villains is fun sport, sometimes even warranted, but one has to account for the entire landscape. The high level Paul Revere warnings are legitimate, but they neglect the other side of the assessment: the benefits and the beneficiaries. I strayed into a medical forum the other day in which arcane AI approaches to solving complex medical challenges was the subject. Spent a lotta time simply running queries on terms I had not run into before: agentic generative AI? Task similarity bias? I did, however, reasonably grasp the problems these people were working to solve. My first reaction was not that these were fundamentally evil people. They were working for solutions that help real people, sometimes people staring in the face of death.
To reiterate: this aspect of the human journey will not be arrested any more than nuclear development has been stopped. There will be winners and losers. Society, mankind, has not, however, sat on its hands with no one controlling the tiller that moves the rudder. How has mankind responded to introduce some control, guardrails, ethical and moral bounds?
Governance.
It’s messy. It can be coopted. It has human agents at every level. It requires resources. It requires policies, rules, legal articulation, development frameworks, feedback loops, ethical assessment, societal inputs into what is fair, corporate/private/government accountability, visibility.
It is nevertheless where this will all head.
As a sidebar, the thought that more data simply equates to more powerful AI belies what is really happening under the hood. AI has many components. Data management is certainly critical. It is also a lot more complex than discussed thus far. At the very least, one must look at the E2E process for data management before engaging in the conversation of how to control the potentials for bad and good.
To be clear, the discussion here is not misplaced. It, however, focuses on very important matters that fall outside the technical realm. Think of it as a similar societal/ethical challenge to that presented when an ignominious postal clerk – not some nefarious tech archangel of death – in the pursuit of knowledge conceived theory and mathematical cosmological models that eventually led to a fairly simple equation, Energy = (Mass) x (Speed of Light Squared). From that point onward, destiny was preordained.
Many folks are not going to like this: but legislative, judicial and executive government actors will be major players in defining how AI evolves through governance structures. Very often, these organizations actually receive their lead from public fora – IT protocol standards and market innovations serving as a poignant example. This control aspect is largely a political problem. It’s not about technology elimination. That won’t happen.
Sundance has highlighted a critical concern vis mass surveillance creating the capability for reckless ideologues to leverage large data collection/analysis into fundamental assaults on rights – ultimately on our guaranteed liberties. It is possible that AI has been oversold and will fail on its own. If not, the solution is going to be through governance. That, in itself, seems a dubious relief given the already borderline criminal neglect of government responsibilities for existing policies, regulations, etc. But that is where we are at.
There are already studies showing adolescents who use AI bots are getting dumber. AI it seems will make the movie Idiocracy a reality.
for some reason, you’ve omitted one of the most obvious… and evil….motives behind this obsessive pursuit of AI…
and that is : transhumanism.
Agreed. Thank you, Sundance.
I understand the concern related to both our liberties and the possibility our government could use it against us. The other side of this is we know China likely is ahead of us in the AI race.
Which is the lesser of two evils? Our government winning the AI race by accessing this NSA database, or allowing our enemies to achieve the upper hand not only on America but also the implications worldwide?
I honestly do not care if Chinese citizens do not have liberty in Surveillance State China. They can have all the AI they want.
I care very much that we cannot have liberty in a Surveillance State America. Quantum Data management is ultimately what AI does. Data that the government has no business collecting in the first place, nor combining with our facial images in order to tell us what we can and cannot do.
Totally understandable, thank you and bless you SD.
Elon put himself at enormous(financial and political?) risk buying X and freeing it of the speech controllers. I don’t get the vibes that he is sneaky evil like a Bill Gates, but who knows. Perhaps most of these TechBros are looking for ways to simultaneously gather data and do it in a more transparent way, unlike the other slimey types; perhaps Altmann is the slimy type.
It might have something to do with Elon publicly and repeatedly lying about the security of Twitter/X user data while he was busy transmitting the entirety of user data, of the entirety of Donald Trump supporters, to the DOJ.
So there’s that.
Suchir was measuring data in with data out .5 is the standard 1.0 is data in is the same as data out and that is the best.
So then, if .5 is the standard does that mean that the data out is Propaganda? Which means they can manipulate how INACCURATE the data coming out is. Seems that is the whole point of what is going on. I already find that the more MAGA the topic the more useless the search output is.
Sundance is asking the right questions. Time will give us the answers. At some point last summer, the big money and big government knew Trump was way ahead. They tried to kill Trump July 13. Musk came out for Trump July 14.
They burned Lahaina and nothing in the downtown has come back. The list of coincidences is huge.
They burned Palisades and the list of coincidences is huge. Killing Suchir is just a little problem. After using the vaccines to kill a million of us.
President Trump needs to push for a complete investigation of the murder of Suchir.
Well if Elon has his ear he will. Elon probably only hates Sam because he’s completion. Elon is a transhumanist. The only way he’ll get people to accept becoming a cyborg is id AI advances at a breakneck pace and we can’t keep up. Elon will not want OpenAI to be the one to force that. Elon is working on his own AI. create the problem, and offer the solution.
The only way to fight this in our system is a massive class-action lawsuit. The reward of the court needs to be large enough to discourage anyone else from harming said class.
In private enterprise, a job is normally necessary for the company to prosper and it takes the full 8 hours. A company hires another person and the workload does not change, the action of hiring creates 8 hours for mischief to occur. And occur it will.
Government needs to get back to bare bones, as few people as possible. Doing the necessary jobs. If Trump can make that happen, there will not be people to ask for illegal FISA requests. There will not be people to do the illegal searches. Guys like Fauci won’t have time to figure out how to rip us off. There will not be time for meetings to talk about stopping Trump. When the phone rings at the IRS a live person will solve your problem. I cannot tell you the times I have called the IRS laid out my problem; they put you on hold and your back in the hour que. They identify themselves with a 240 digit ID number that you could not write down if you wanted to.
Where will they store all this data?

just came across this account.
I have pinged a friend who worked w The City daily for 5 years.
FTR, San Francisco – what we call The City – probably had a normal level of Big city corruption into the 70s and 80s. The City had a strong Irish Catholic base, along w a host of various European ethnic groups.
The last 10 – 15 years seems much different. My friend (above) saw waste everywhere, and shenanigans. There have been a number of criminal trials, some the typical planning inspector kickbacks / favors.
The City is SMALL – 7 miles x 7 miles, still well under a million people. The western portion is more low-rise family homes, moderate politically, and safe.
Tech / tech bros turned over the apple cart, bringing in their millions / billions. Their money allows them to pick winners and losers.
Example. When the Covid lockdowns hit, Zuckerberg gave $100,000 to six restaurants he favored in the quaint Noe Valley neighborhood for employee salaries or bills.
It seems one gunshot would send blood in some kind of a logical pattern.
I HOPE THE PARENTS TOOK FILM / VIDEO OF THE APARTMENT AND CONTENTS. THEY SHOULD HIRE SECURITY TO GUARD THE PREMISES.
Another Wish List item for President Trump – expanded Whistleblower protection.
Notice the similarity to the Boeing murders – when Billions are involved, watch out.
