Thanks Sundance for supplying us with links. Much appreciated.
Will anyone even ASK Mr. Bessent about his long history with the evil George Soros? I’d never vote for Mr. Bessent for anything including dog catcher.
One Dim Dem alluded to it in passing and moved quickly on. Can’t be seen to denegrate one of Biden’s recent “(p)residential medal of fweedom” recipients now, could we 😎
Thanks for your advice, did George Soros pay you to come here to spew?
No, George Soros didn’t pay me to come here and tell some home truths about Scott Bessent. I don’t see what is so terrible about being suspicious about a man who worked for George Soros for years and was at the side of George Soros when Soros broke the Bank of England and caused the pound to be devalued.
We all have cause to be cautious with Scott due to his past.
My view is that he is a hired gun – but he is now PDJT’s hired gun.
I admit that I loved his answer that “There is no reason for the U.S. to have a CBDC.” Also appreciated his statement, “We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.”
That said – words are cheap. Let’s see what he actually does.
Bernie Sanders questioned Bessent about oligarchs and Bessent turned it back at him by pointing out two people Biden just presented Pres Medals to were “oligarchs” by anyone’s definition. One of those oligarchs is of course is Soros.
His slap down of one of the top 5 worst Dim Senators was enjoyable too 😉
CFR – ugh, I forgot about that. But I think we need him at this time

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announces Ashley Moody will replace Marco Rubio in Senate
By Diana Glebova Published Jan. 16, 2025, 10:40 a.m. ET
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that state Attorney General Ashley Moody will be taking Marco Rubio’s place as the Sunshine State’s junior senator.
DeSantis announced his pick at a news conference in Orlando days before Rubio is set to resign to become President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of state.
Timing not coincidental…
He waited until Rubio received good reviews, and is most assuredly to be confirmed.
Trump Time
Republican Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is thought to be the frontrunner for Rubio’s Senate seat…

… Sanders is a riot! I find him entertaining… huffin’ and puffin’… purple faced… eyes bulging out of his skull…all show! … typical ”gauche caviar”! LOL … or, simply, a clown!
Build Back Riots
“In a veiled threat of violence, Bernie Sanders tonight on “Real Time with Bill Maher” signaled to his “millions” of Bernie Bros to go into “the streets” and confront Trump — “in one form or another” — if Trump refuses to concede the election and leave the White House.”

Make Bernie Clown Again
What an “effen” Charmin loser!
Speaking of “effing losers”, when do we see Karma bite Biden in the @$$?
… and then, there’s Whitehouse… LOL… is he for real?! Where do they find these guys?!
Seriously pathetic . Rhode Island, WTF? I did not even know who that Reed guy was before yesterday–he couldn’t even enunciate the words from his prepared script.
The Senate is looking really bad in these hearings. I can’t imagine working with those people. It must be horrible.
Thanks for this and for your posts/analysis on all the Senate Intel hearings.
The most trusted man in news was never Walter Cronkite. It’s clearly Sundance!
Imagine being a billionaire and going to a job interview with the janitorial staff asking the questions.
I’ve known janitors with more common sense and courtesy than this crew… seriously. Let’s appreciate janitorial staff
I’m glad they are implementing a flood the zone approach on these hearings as it makes it more challenging for dems and RINO’s.
The downside is I’m having a hard time watching all of them. It’s a price I’m willing to pay since I know all of these names and who they are. I used to watch hearings to learn more about nominees.
I watch them now to learn more about those opposed to MAGA.
Bernie Sanders brought up Biden’s talk about a coming American oligarchy. Asked Bessent if he thought they were dangerous. Love the calm take down.
WYDEN (who looks like he forgot to take off his “Day of the Dead” makeup) : “We are in an arms race on clean energy with China.”
BESSENT: “China will build 100 new coal plants this year. There is not a clean energy race. There is an energy race.”
Was a brilliant reply to the cadaver.
Bessent put Bernie in his place about George Soros!
One mention of anything about “carbon” is one comment too many. It’s sad to see people who would be our leaders who are completely ignorant of the science around carbon dioxide.
One thing that stands out is how good these nominees are in general and certainly by comparison to the mediocrities the Ds and Uniparty produce. But then again when you look at the questioners you see the caliber of people that somehow occupy that space and serve as gatekeepers. I’ve never seen the Senate look so bad.
I’m not as smart as everyone here, but I found the hearing to be fascinating. I think Mr. Bessent gave some strong answers, certainly matching conservative and capitalist thought, and I was impressed with his demeanor. I don’t like that he worked for Soros, that shows rotten judgment. But he was on the other side at the time so basically had little to no proper ability to think outside of the cult. He’s free now, and Trump trusts him. So far so good, but of course hearings are only the beginning and we’ve seen problems down the line with certain Cabinet picks. I’ll wait and see but as of right now, I like our chances with this guy.
I remember seeing this guy a year ago on Bannon’s Warroom.
He was uncomfortable on camera, inarticulate, awkward, total money nerd.
When I heard he was nominated for Sec of Treasury I thought “he’s perfect”.
