Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Evening, Treepers. I know… Christmas is over, but we are still in the Spirit. Sharing you a little nugget of gold from our Central Indiana home. This is Ted Yoder, a dulcimer player. He had a video go viral of a cover of the song “Everybody Wants to Rule The World” by Tears for Fears. So many views in fact… that Tears for Fears came to his house in rural Indiana to watch and sing with him. That went on to some traveling and playing at Busch Gardens in Florida. You can pick up some of his cd’s at tedyoder.com. Some of the most relaxing music ever. Highly recommend his Christmas cd’s.
We Three Kings – Ted Yoder
The video that made him “famous”:
And… with Tears for Fears… please forgive the first part of the audio is bad, but hang in there and it clears up at 00:14. He has a pet raccoon, and that’s his daughter next to Curt and that’s his family at the end.
Wow! Excellent. Thanks for sharing
Also… jwoo if you are in Pennsylvania, the Amish Tours in Lancaster are excellent. Lots of farms and information about Amish lifestyle.
https://www.amishvillage.com/
I will never be Amish but they have a lot of valuable ideas to teach the rest of us. One of the joys of the tour was interacting with children selling wares at their farm…the cutest little guy upselling carpentry items: “Would you like a charcuterie board?” The charcuterie board was beautiful and if I had room for one more item in my household I would have bought it in a heartbeat just because the farm kids were so darn excellent.
I did buy a pretzel at one stop… but the guide was very informative and there was lots to learn all along the way: how to share the road with horses, graveyards where all the monuments are plain and the same because God doesn’t care about our earthly status… phones used strictly for work… meeting houses in private spaces above barns because the Amish are used to political oppression and did not invest in churches that can be closed and shut down, as we saw during covid
Hi Wondering999,
So glad I checked back in tonight to see your post. We are currently in Central Indiana, but I have spoken with a company needing an Office Manager and Bookkeeper out of Chambersburg. I’ve visited PA only once and it was a quick stop for a business meeting and immediate flyout, so we didn’t even stay the night.
Know very little of the area, but the more I am learning, the more fascinating the opportunity becomes.
I’ve got a couple apprehensions about it. It will be decent money, much lower cost of living, very long hours and lots of work – which I am am used to – but being family-owned there is negligible PTO (5 holidays, no PTO first year, 1 day PTO 2nd year, 2 days PTO 3rd year) – and I just don’t want to be taken advantage of.
Our timelines are a bit off too and if they had their way, it’ll cost around $15K for me to relocate, but I have some firm timetables on my end of things that I must adhere to.
It’s going to be a GOD thing. He is going to have to be very clear with me what He wants me to do.
Divinely… this relocation would put us closer to some goals Savannah has (my soon to be 19 yo daughter with a learning disability)… so it would put us in close proximity (within 300 miles) to those goals and she, too, will have LOTS of work to do. The affirmations I am receiving for the area are quite inspiring and remarkable in their “coincidence”. (I don’t really believe in coincidences…)
We’ll see. Just trying to get some ground reports as to what living there is like under a Josh Shapiro regime – the real estate taxes are ridonkulous!!! But the houses are priced so low that one can handle the tax burden.
We are in the preliminary negotiation stages, so I am just researching to determine my “asks” and my “boundaries”.
I really enjoy the Amish and Mennonites, but if you have ever done business with them, they can be quite shrewd. They may attempt to lead a simple life, but they are no dummies and one must remain alert with their contractual and payment tactics. LOL They make some mighty fine things, though. Mighty fine!
It’s not as fancy and sophisticated as Garrison’s beautiful posts – but it is “down home” and good, clean, comfort music. Love it all… just listening brings me great joy.
✝️ Lord, thank You for the day. Amen.
