The notoriously political Judge Juan Merchan sentenced President-elect Donald Trump Friday morning for his ridiculous ‘hush money’ conviction in Manhattan. The Lawfare effort was entirely to position President Trump as the first convicted felon in the White House. That’s it. That’s the sum of motive and intent. To create a narrative.
That’s what lawfare is all about, creating public perceptions and using the judicial system to advance political goals. Few people care about the issues and the entire case is likely to be thrown out on a host of appeal reasonings.

In New York? You do realize who controls New York Bar! They disbarred Rudy Guiliani because he represented Donald Trump.
The state of New York has an “independent” commission to investigate complaints against judges.
It is known as the NYS Commission on Judicial Conduct.
They do remove judges, but generally they target town and village justices in conservative districts.
Of the eleven commissioners, all but two are appointed by Democrats.

The reason Merchan took the highly unusual step to announce his ‘no-sentence’ sentence was so the USSC wouldn’t have to take it up. If he’d been sentenced to community service…it would have ‘interfered’ with his presidential duties.
This little political exercise has checked all the boxes for the Dems. As Turley remarked on Fox: “This was a thrill kill.”
And SCOTUS’ order made it clear that it was denying the stay because Merchan had specifically said it would be unconditional discharge.
If Merchan had changed his mind at the last minute, Trump would have been back in SCOTUS, and Roberts and Barrett might have grown backbones.

You are absolutely right about the legislative and judicial branches …. as well as the foreign and even domestic civilian bad guys.
First, we start with the Executive Branch because that is the branch that President Trump has control over…. in fact, he IS THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH and can bring it into Constitutional compliance without asking any damn congressman, senator or jurist.
Although he doesn’t control the other branches, he can start impacting the other branches in 2025 by not associating with any of their activities, laws, acts, etc that are unconstitutional. His oath forbids him from being associated with unconstitutional activity.
The legislative branch is the next branch to work on …… bringing them into Constitutional compliance. It will take another mid-term election cycle to get rid of more democrats and RINOs in the house and senate to make the changes.
The judicial branch will be the last branch to bring into Constitutional compliance. It will require the appointment of more MAGA jurists to replace current democrat / RINO jurists.
The 2025 MAGA / America First improvements can succeed with just the Executive Branch being brought into Constitutional compliance because that is the branch that is the enforcement arm of the federal government. The other branches can’t make them do anything unconstitutional.
America needs all 3 branches to be brought into Constitutional compliance. The other two branches can be made Constitutional compliant by the end of President Trump’s term.

It is not hard to do; here are several ideas:
One, we could appoint judges for a term of years rather than for life. The term could be renewed, if the President and Senate think they have done a good job. We should not delude ourselves that life terms keep judges above the political fray. They have joined the fray and, like other politicians, must be held to some accountability.
Second, federal judges at the appellate and district court level could be made subject to voter recall and removal.
Third, Congress could use its power, granted in the Constitution, to restrict the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.
Fourth, we could do what Teddy Roosevelt recommended in his 1912 presidential campaign – have the nation decide at the next election whether to uphold, or reject, any Court decision creating a new “right” or overturning a state or federal law.
