Read an article earlier today speculating that a fair price for Greenland would be $300B. Obviously, one can debate whether Greenland could actually be purchased. However, the $300B estimate for Greenland seems like a much better investment of US taxpayer dollars than lining the pockets of the corrupt rulers of Ukraine (and presumably our politicians and MIC).
Greenland has a population of approximately 70,000 people of which 60,000 are native Inuit (Eskimos) and about 10,000 are White Danish Europeans.
Denmark is a member of NATO and the United States has virtually unlimited military access to Greenland going back to our mutual defence treaty of 1940 signed by the Prime Minister of Denmark in exile after the German invasion of his country. During World War II the United States Navy and Airforce operated out of Greenland on a massive scale.
I don’t see how our purchase of Greenland would change our military access in a meaningful way when we have everything needed already. Frankly, Iceland is far more strategic but the same facts would apply there as well.
Economic access certainly, and surely would negate any ambiguity about military, n’est-ce pas?
Personally, I’d rather colonize Greenland than Mars, though I do want to see humanity spread out, way risky all of us staying in the nest, especially when gaining serious space competency is the best way to create the means of protecting the earth.
Yucon and Northwest Territories are spacious.

I thought I read that Greenland has some very desirable natural resources that China is sniffing around. Maybe that’s why PTrump wants to take it in, along with strategic arrangements which it seems we already have access to.

As someone who spent years on Alaska’s North Slope, I would respectfully disagree. Our North Slope living quarters even had an Olympic size swimming pool. The expense was reportedly justified to management as a “fire water reserve tank.” We also had a university level basketball court/arena.
We could not take Greenland militarily and there is no reason to worry about China taking it.
Denmark has announced it is sending two more dogsled teams over there to protect it.

Thank you for this! It needs to be our mantra from here on. And not just for the solutions but also as President Trump leads us through the process as he works to solve various problems.
An example is the “Canada as the 51st state” issue President Trump has raised. In other comments some commenters were suggesting this was President Trump doing the globalists’ bidding in that he was promoting consolidation of countries.
In reality, by discussing consolidation, President Trump is highlighting a big problem. The problem is that Canada has been “propped up” by us and President Trump no longer wants to spend money we don’t have doing that. He wants to deal with our debt problem and use our resources to address the things we need to do in this country. He describes the Canada problem at some length in the press conference Sundance posted on 1/7/25.
The issue is withdrawing our resources leaves Canada in a pickle. They have problems if they don’t have support coming in from us. So the discussion needs to be how to keep Canada going if we pull our resources back for our use. That is the kernel of the problem President Trump wants to lead us to solve.
Additionally, Canada is being colonized by the Chinese and is woefully under-defended.
I would dearly love to see those lands to our north severed from the Crown.
We could build that railroad to Russia that prompted the creation of Canada to thwart it long ago, those that own the Crown have always hated Russia and feared our befriending her.

On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or he lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.

Regarding DJT pardoning the J6’ers, I doubt that there are more than a dozen who committed any sort of violence. Even fewer, when you take into account, the number of federal agents on hand to stir things up. I SAY, PARDON THEM ALL, BECAUSE THE LEFT IS GOING TO HATE HIM AND US, NO MATTER WHAT.
I say pardon them all violent or nonviolent considering there were trained instigators stirring them up. Exclusion should be only proven Antifa members as well as BLM. They were part of the instigators.

For the record, I’ve done foster care — not sure if every state operates this way, but here in NE Ohio, kids are afforded a lot of support and opportunities, even after they age out. They are eligible for grants or scholarships that pay for community college or trade school, and there is a BRIDGE program that they can sign up for anytime between ages 18-25, which will help with mentoring, housing, support, and schooling or training.
One of the big problems is that although these kids have all kinds of housing and support waiting for them, many walk away from it, wanting to be “independent” once they age out. They either want to live with a boyfriend, or go back to live with a destructive parent or friends.
Just saying, I’ve seen some kids who grab on to the opportunities, and go to college, get a job, and do well. Sadly, I’ve seen others who age out (often, they choose not to be adopted, even when they have had a good foster home and a willing family). One girl had a whole life set up for her, with a place to live near her foster mom (who offered her support whenever she needed it), a free ride at the community college, bus pass, etc. At the last minute, she walked away from it to live back in the city with her dad and drug friends. The problem often isn’t that kids are abandoned, but rather, they don’t take advantage of what is offered because of trauma backgrounds, addiction, mental illness, and bad choices. Sad…

Telegram reveals that the communications platform has fulfilled 900 U.S. government requests, sharing the phone number or IP address information of 2,253 users with law enforcement.
Previously, Telegram would only share users’ IP addresses and phone numbers in cases of terrorism and had only fulfilled 14 requests affecting 108 users until September 30, 2024.
Following the change in its privacy policy, Telegram will now share user data with law enforcement in other cases of crime, including cybercrime, the selling of illegal goods, and online fraud.
This change came in response to pressure from the authorities, culminating in the arrest of Telegram’s founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, in late August in France.

The Congressional Review Act (CRA): Frequently Asked Questions
Summary
The Congressional Review Act (CRA) is a tool that Congress may use to overturn rules issued by federal agencies. The CRA was included as part of the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act (SBREFA), which was signed into law on March 29, 1996. The CRA requires agencies to report on their rulemaking activities to Congress and provides Congress with a special set of procedures under which to consider legislation to overturn those rules.
Under the CRA, before a rule can take effect, an agency must submit a report to each house of Congress and the comptroller general containing a copy of the rule; a concise general statement describing the rule, including whether it is a major rule; and the proposed effective date of the rule. After receiving the report, Members of Congress have specified time periods during which they must submit and act on a joint resolution of disapproval to take advantage of the CRA’s special “fast track” procedures. If both houses pass the resolution, it is sent to the President for signature or veto. If the President were to veto the resolution, Congress could vote to override the veto.
If a joint resolution of disapproval is submitted within the CRA-specified deadline, passed by Congress, and signed by the President, the CRA states that the disapproved rule “shall not take effect (or continue).” The rule would be deemed not to have had any effect at any time, and even provisions that had become effective would be retroactively negated.
Furthermore, if a joint resolution of disapproval is enacted, the CRA provides that a rule may not be issued in “substantially the same form” as the disapproved rule unless it is specifically authorized by a subsequent law. The CRA does not define what would constitute a rule that is “substantially the same” as a nullified rule. Additionally, the statute prohibits judicial review of any “determination, finding, action, or omission under” the CRA.
Since its enactment, the CRA has been used to overturn a total of 20 rules: 1 in the 107th Congress (2001-2002), 16 in the 115th Congress (2017-2018), and 3 in the 117th Congress (2021-2022).
This report discusses the most frequently asked questions received by the Congressional Research Service about the CRA. It addresses questions relating to the applicability of the act, the requirements for submission of rules, the procedural requirements that must be met for Congress to file and act upon a CRA joint resolution of disapproval, and the effects of an enacted CRA joint resolution of disapproval. This report also discusses potential advantages and disadvantages of using the CRA to disapprove rules, as well as other options available to Congress to conduct oversight of agency rulemaking.
What I remember about the Jimmy Carter presidency…
Carter’s presidency played out against the constant tension of the Cold War and was jolted by the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.
A defining event of Carter’s presidency was the November 4, 1979, takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran by Iranian students, who seized 52 hostages.
Although he had promised not to take military action, Carter secretly ordered a rescue mission in April 1980. It ended with aircraft colliding and eight U.S. servicemen dying before reaching Iran, effectively dooming Carter’s chances of re-election in November that year. The hostages were released the day after his term ended on January 20, 1981.

Antony Cyril Sutton (February 14, 1925 – June 17, 2002) was a British-American writer, researcher, economist, and professor.
At the Hoover Institution, he wrote the study Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development (in three volumes), arguing that the West played a major role in developing the Soviet Union from its beginnings until the then-present year of 1970. Sutton argued that the Soviet Union’s technological and manufacturing base, which was then engaged in supplying North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, was built by United States corporations and largely funded by US taxpayers. Steel and iron plants, the GAZ automobile factory, a Ford subsidiary in eastern Russia, and many other Soviet industrial enterprises were built with the help or technical assistance of the United States government or US corporations. His conclusion from his research on the issue was that the conflicts of the Cold War were “not fought to restrain communism” but were organised in order “to generate multibillion-dollar armaments contracts”, since the United States, through financing the Soviet Union “directly or indirectly, armed both sides in at least Korea and Vietnam.
Sutton’s next three published books (Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, Wall Street and FDR and Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler) detailed Wall Street’s involvement in the Bolshevik Revolution to destroy Russia as an economic competitor and turn it into “a captive market and a technical colony to be exploited by a few high-powered American financiers and the corporations under their control” as well as its decisive contributions to the rise of Adolf Hitler and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, whose policies he assessed as being essentially the same “corporate socialism,” planned by the big corporations. Contrary to what most brokerage account holders believe, they only have the appearance of ownership. If their broker goes bust, the stocks and bonds they think they own will be used to satisfy the other more senior creditors of their broker.
Webb shows how, during the 2008 financial crisis, a small broker in Florida went bankrupt.
Instead of sending the clients’ securities to another broker, as had traditionally been the case, they were swept up by the bankruptcy receiver.
But it’s not just some isolated small broker.
The bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers set the case law precedent for secured creditors to take client assets in the case of insolvency.
The most senior secured creditors are the most powerful financial institutions closest to the central banks—JP Morgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, etc.

For everyone saying “Trudeau didn’t resign – he just announced his intention to resign”…
There is kind of an order to follow. You don’t just resign and leave Canadian government on the spot. Yes, he announced his resignation, to be replaced after Liberal leadership elections, and prorogued Parliament until that happens.
I guess to make his resignation more definitive, he could have called an immediate election. But then he would not have resigned either, because he would be the leader of the Liberals entering that federal election. Unless people are suggesting he should have resigned and called an election without his replacement to run for the Liberals. Or have a Kamala’esque coup hand-selected, undemocratic replacement, in which case the same criticism would still apply.
Trudeau is the scum of the earth and a snake, but there could not really have been anything more definitive and immediate of a resignation than what he did – saving shortening the delays for the leadership challenge – in which case, Liberals would have cried that he cut those delays too short for lesser-known candidates to fairly compete.
My opinion is that his resignation is irrelevant in any case. The damage is done. Liberals will lose the next election regardless of leadership, only by a question of by how much.
But I don’t think there is some secret play that Trudeau is going to invoke to stay in power.
The bigger risk is that Freeland or Carney – both WEF stooges – and in @cafreeland
