According to social media identification, the victim was 29-year-old Amelia Carter who fell asleep in a New York Subway car when an illegal alien from Guatemala took out a lighter and set her clothing on fire. The victim burned to death as NYPD officers arrived on scene.

[SOURCE] The NYPD said the killing happened at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island at about 7:30 a.m. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, during a press conference on Sunday evening, provided more insight into the heinous act.
“As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked up to the victim,” she said, explaining that the female victim was in a seated position. “The suspect used what we believe to be a lighter to ignite the victim’s clothing, which became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds.”
Officers were on patrol at the station when they smelled and saw smoke, prompting them to investigate the situation.

The accused firebug, who has not yet been charged, first entered the US illegally at the Arizona border in 2018, but was nabbed just days later and shipped back home.
He later crossed the border again, dodging federal agents and finding his way north to the five boroughs — although it is unclear how long he was in the city before the horrific F train attack Sunday, the sources said.

I question the validity of the only video of the heinous act that I’ve seen so far. The woman was standing while what appears to be her hair and head as well as her lower legs and feet were engulfed in flames, yet she appears to be calmly standing there. I would think someone would reflexively be trying everything possible to stop the burning such as flailing about if they didn’t think or know to stop, drop and roll.

She might have tried to get up after she woke up in flames and then went into bodily shock and just froze there.
What the body goes through when being set on fire is horrific. I don’t think that she was calmly standing there. I think that her body shut down and froze into that position as it was being consumed by fire.

I think they must not have been able to figure out what they were seeing. The officer in particular at most glanced into the train car, enough to be aware that something was burning. Unless he realized it was a person, he wouldn’t think of trying to get the burning thing out onto to platform to put the flames out.
Less excusable is the videographer who DID see that a woman was burning and just filmed it when he could have grabbed her out himself and shouted for people to help wrap her up.
Instead he did not even raise the alarm that it was a woman who was burning. He just talked at narration volume into his phone.
That same officer walked by the victim twice and refused to help her. He should be charged for dereliction of duty.

My now adult children asked me in the past why I didn’t do such and such or such and such when they were younger (my oldest was 3 months old when it happened).
All I could say was that hopefully they would never have to be able to understand the state of mind such a tragedy throws a person into for a very long time. I operated on automatic just to physically, not emotionally or mentally, get through each moment let alone the day. Just void of emotional and mental participation in life.

I don’t think I understand why there shouldn’t be a total investigation into what happened. When I read the woman didn’t appear to be moving while being burned the first thing I wondered was there a possibility she was un-conscious or even deceased. What if she’d been stabbed or otherwise disabled before being set on fire. It would be totally irresponsible not to have a full autopsy.
She died from anoxia from….airway edema and inability to breathe from inhalation injury and possibly circumferential third degree/full thickness burns to the upper body preventing her from being able to engage in respiration efforts, I would think…she needed to be intubated immediately. There is a very short time frame from injury to the effects of the facial burns affecting her respiratory system.
What was in that chemical she was doused with? No one is reporting on any odors associated with the event…such as gasoline or other odorous flammables…
Again, like in the Penny case…what took EMS so long to get there?

Through God’s Holy Spirit Who lives in us, we must cast him (it) out. In God’s Name, He’s given us the power to do it.
