In a post on her Twitter account, Lara Trump has announced she is removing her name from consideration for the open Florida Senate seat, potentially created by a confirmation of Senator Marco Rubio to be Secretary of State.

Due to his acceptable republican status, Marco Rubio is expected to be swiftly confirmed to his new post by his Senate colleagues. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis previously said Floridians are likely to know the name of their next senator by the beginning of January 2025.
Curious to know what her “big announcement” will be?
Pregnant? New music about to hit? Something more like those guesses than political I’d wager.

Dutch, I think that McConnell and the remaining “professionally Republican” manipulators have lost a significant amount of credibility they once enjoyed, thanks to the ubiquitous spread of truth by social media that’s dominated by conservatives over the past couple of years, not to mention the increasing influence that President Trump has exerted.
Lara Trump has earned some credibility by her running her father’s successful campaign. I think the old saying is “strike while the iron is hot.”

Good that she had a moment of clarity and stepped away from the spotlight. The content of this thread, with all its excellent contributors, leads me to one conclusion. We must repeal the 17th amendment. If Laura Trump, or anyone else for that matter, ever has a thought about holding a US Senate seat from any state, then they should be compelled to do one thing first. They should become a senator in that state, and work within that state’s legislature for a minimum of one full term. That anyone should think that they can jump from zero experience in any elected position directly to becoming a US Senator just because of a family name is the epitome of arrogance and entitlement. Laura Trump jumping into the Senate in Florida is every bit a slap in the face of the state’s electorate as Hillary Clinton claiming that Senate seat in New York. Again, this is a perfect example as to why we must overturn the 17th Amendment.

I believe she ran Women for Trump fighting for his 1st term and stolen 2nd term, which also advocated for women across America running for office, along with Elise Stafanik’s push.
I think she also had a lot to do with the planning of the 2020 online RNC convention. It was very good and very successful.
I am hoping that whatever she goes for next allows for a balance of family. She deserves it and so do her children.

What the Founding Fathers had in mind was that each state should have its senate select two of its members to represent their state’s interests and concerns at the federal level. When their respective 6 year term is up then they can return to their home state and be replaced by someone else. Where most of the state’s senators could have aspirations to hold the federal office, competition amongst them would be spirited. Not easy to bribe your way into a position when competing directly against others of similar stature and ambition.

My $.02. Conservatives go to Washington with moral and patriotic intentions of serving their country & constituents. They succumb to the millions of dollars that is thrown at them. Laura and her Co-chair did a phenomenal job turning the RNC from the Snake Pit that Romney’s niece had created, to a functioning entity. It still had it’s flaws such as donations going through Big Red which sold/gave away all donors information to other candidates, but their support for President Donald J. Trump was spot on.
I do not know Laura, nor her capabilities, but I am pleased that she has removed herself from the race as long as a strong Conservative is there to step into RINO Rubio’s shoes…
