Interesting discussion between Tucker Carlson and Jeffrey Sachs on the current state of geopolitical fluctuations and seemingly chaotic changes.
Mr. Sachs points to Israel and AIPAC as the originating control mechanism for U.S. foreign policy. Here I must insert my prior metaphor for the U.S State Dept and the CIA [The DC Restuarant]. According to Sachs much of the activity from within the State Dept is in alignment with the objectives of those who dine in the kitchen.
I do not necessarily disagree…. However, once you understand this dynamic; I mean really understand the complexity of the dynamic and how it represents a challenge to anyone who would seek to change policy direction; then you can find context for how President Donald Trump is organizing his foreign policy mission.
President Trump is circumventing the control mechanisms of the U.S. State Department –SEE HERE– And with that context, things take on an entire new perspective about the issues Sachs is describing.
While he accurately defines the problem, I’m not sure Sachs is seeing what President Trump is doing to cut the gordian knot {I’ll reexplain below}.

Only a small number of Americans understand the relationship between the U.S. State Dept (DoS) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). However, as more people understand how these two agencies operate, then people have a much more accurate context for how both agencies are viewed by the rest of the world.
Almost every deployed CIA operative has a cover profile within the State Dept. The foreign service missions of the DoS and CIA are so enmeshed there is literally no way to separate the functions of their agencies. [Go back to the Benghazi Attack for an operational reference] CIA/DoS have to be viewed through the prism of connection.
To better understand this concept, I use the following metaphor:
♦ The U.S State Dept and CIA operation is like a restaurant. The Dept of State is the front of the restaurant, with the Secretary as the Maitre D’. The CIA is the back of the restaurant, the kitchen. The Director is the Chef. The consulates are the wait staff. USAID are the food runners. The Dept of Defense are the bus boys.
The tables and chairs are assigned by the Maitre D’ according to their value. Countries viewed as more important get the best tables. The menus offered to each nation are completely different. Israel has a table in the kitchen. To get the best experience, tips (bribes) are required for everyone, from the parking valets outside, to the sommelier, to the server. Currently, Ukraine is the biggest tipper.
On the oversight aspect the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is the control mechanism to approve/install the Secretary of State. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence is the control mechanism to approve/install the CIA Director. Everything therein and thereafter is a system of pretending it is something else.
The Dept of State (DoS) is so large there’s no way of addressing the inherent institutional corruption. The Secretary of State can control a small portion of DoS operations, but that’s usually only the geopolitical stuff we see discussed on television, in print media or in press conferences. The business functions of the DoS take place within a network of carefully guarded silos.
Perhaps, the first step in advancing an American-First policy, is to just stop the various administrative offices within the Dept of State from doing anything, literally anything. The challenge within DoS is massive, complex and complicated. I’m genuinely not sure what the Executive Branch mechanism is to do it, but we need to close the restaurant for a few months and do a deep cleaning.
On the back of the operation is the kitchen, the CIA.
It is a popular DC sentiment to say the CIA Director is the most powerful person within the intelligence apparatus. As the viewpoint is shared, it is the established secrecy within the mandate of the institution that gives them power.
Essentially, the CIA was created to be a place where dark arts (lying, spying, manipulation, tradecraft) would be approved and used at the discretion of the institutional leadership. As a consequence, there is no check on the CIA operational agenda. They are permitted by function and mandate, to lie to everyone about what they are doing; this includes the Office of the President.
Because they are essentially an unchecked intelligence silo within a government that has allowed the institution to hold unilateral power and self-policing, the CIA has a power within the apparatus unlike any other member. Inside the business model of foreign policy as a restaurant, the CIA are in control of the kitchen.
Together the DoS/CIA operate a shadow government, looking out for their best interest while generating power through large multinational institutions (corporations), spy agencies (5-eyes), banks, non-governmental agencies (NGAs) and various influence operations.
♦ The activity of the CIA/DoS construct takes place regardless of who is president. Any hope of busting up this corrupt system is going to take a lot of strategic pounding while confronting the supportive element within the Senate at the same time. [Note this is why repealing the 17th amendment would make the work infinitely easier – and also why the 17th amendment was created by banking interests.]
When you stand back and look at the challenge of confronting the DoS and CIA, you can easily see why the Emissary was the first most important person I noted. If you are going to confront the domestic corruption within the DoS, you need the Emissary as a contact for specific foreign government leaders.
Under my sketch, the foreign policy of the USA shifts away from Foggy Bottom [Rubio] and directly back to the White House [Trump]. This provides space to destroy the system through domestic confrontation.
Marco Rubio as Secretary of State would normally to have to push intensely and forcefully to support the goals of President Trump while simultaneously trying to shift control away from the kitchen diners. Literally impossible in one four-year term; so, what is the optimal solution?
Enter President Trump, building the parallel system. A new foreign policy construct that does not need support from the State Dept., Trump works around the issue.
With Lt General Keith Kellogg special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, and with the appointment of Steven C. Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East, President Trump has essentially created a construct that works around the insufferable issues with a globalist State Department.
Rubio doesn’t have Ukraine/Russia in his portfolio, nor does he have diplomatic or policy control over the Middle East. President Trump has neutered the State Department, and the cherry on the proverbial cake is Ric Grenell.
The CIA is replaced with a Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board. The Dept of State is replaced as above. Both operate as parallel systems.
We should all give him major credit. President Trump is actually doing it.

In another scary escalation which will lead to unpredictable consequences, a top military general and head of the Russian military’s chemical weapons forces was killed in Moscow in a targeted blast which Ukraine quickly owned up to. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov has been confirmed killed in an assassination bombing, and is the most senior Russian official killed since the start of the Ukraine war in 2022.
According to emerging details confirmed in state TASS news agency, citing Russia’s emergency services, a bomb was hidden in an electric scooter parked outside Gen. Kirillov’s apartment. As he and his assistant walked by, the explosive was remotely detonated. The assistant was also immediately killed. Footage showed a large blast outside the residential building.
The price for peace continues to go up. The EU and Ukraine will pay it one way or another. Putin won’t let it pass and Trump damn sure won’t pay it.

MANY were condescending, Ivy school graduates whose only ability was to ride mommy and daddy’s name into Harvard, Yale, etc., and then into a cushy State Dept. Job. On the accusation made in the tweet, Sachs’ policies worked well in Poland and didn’t in the USSR. Sachs has explained this is why the reforms needed institutions like the World Bank and the IMF to play along with financial assistance and advice. They did it with Poland, which is why it worked there, but those two (US controlled) institutions refused to with the USSR. There was a Pax Romana, the Roman Peace. We had a Pax America enforced on this hemisphere during the WASP imperial period (1861-1970). Local provincial elites may not like being in someone else’s empire, but most make a cost-benefit analysis and when an empire brings peace, it brings order necessary for sustained profits. This is what the majority of local elites care about most, for better or worse.
The (post-WASP) Global American Empire (1970-present) is coming apart because the people who have been running it for the last generation have not only not sustained an imperial peace, but have actively sought exactly the opposite. They deliberately undermine and destroy social, political, and economic order all over the world. NOBODY WANTS THIS.
What do people want? Normal people all over the world want this sick twisted thing with its servile worship of crime and trannies, that wears America’s flayed skin like a camouflage suit, to frak off and go away. Local elites want a return to the old order, to the imperial peace with its stable currency, so they can go back to doing what all elites love to do, make money.
Let us be perfectly about the circumstances of Pres. Trump’s reelection. He was ALLOWED to win by the same people who unsuccessfully (they underestimated) tried to cheat him in 2016 and successfully cheated him and us in 2020. (Recall Lyndsey Graham’s [an operative of the Sea Island Group] assurance that Kemp’s “machine” would be behind Pres. Trump) They chose not to cheat this time, because Pres. Trump convinced them that his vision was more compatible with their interests than what the people who controlled Harris offered.
That doesn’t mean that they will willingly surrender their capacity to use fraud to say ‘no’ to the will of the American people in the future. They are still there. They still have control over much of the election system, and the federal police machinery which in a functioning society would be used to clean up state-level corruption.
What does this all mean? One important item to note is that the collection of imperial elites which have coalesced behind Pres. Trump have their own objectives, most of which are not long-term beneficial to Americans. They want reform (especially, most want a return to an imperial peace), but only in those areas of governance that affect their long-term profits and power. The cohesion and stability of our communities, affordable family formation for our people in our people’s civilization, is simply not a concern to most of them. Most especially, they do not want a return of institutional sovereignty, of the capacity of the American people to say “NO!” when our interests conflict with theirs.
The takehome-message is that when listening to people opine on what direction we should take, one should always keep in mind that they have their own interests. One should understand that there may be substantial overlap with Heritage American interests, or there may not be. It has to be assessed on a case by case basis, but one should NEVER assume that just because someone says they are aligned with Pres. Trump, that their interests and yours coincide. If your “instincts [are] rattled so strongly”, then you should listen to those instincts and take a closer look.
Most nations last somewhere between 240-260 years.

I strongly disagree with Mr. Sachs. The US has been supporting Iran going back to the time the CIA caused a regime change coup in order to protect British Petroleum because Mosaddegh wanted to nationalize the oil industry, this was in 1953. The US continued to support Iran even when the Mullahs came to power, despite knowing the Mullahs were going to have an extremely anti-American foreign policy.
The CIA has supported and tried to empower Iran for all this time. The purpose was to have a terrorist entity that could always be the source of conflict if not war against Israel.
In addition, George Bush Sr. created Hamas with King Abdullah of Jordan at the head.
The US government has lied about its support for Iran, and has pretended to support Israel. But in actual fact, all Presidents other than DJT have undermined Israel at crucial moments when Israel needed US help. While US gives “aid” to Israel, Israel purchases US made weapons and arms for the IDF and IAF. So Israel gives as much as it gets or even more, since Israel has provided a great deal of intelligence to the US.

I listened to the whole interview and what I came away with is that Sachs is an economist who knows stuff because high placed people told him. IMO, this mindset, a destructive mindset, has been prevalent for many years and has created the destructive wars of the last century.

I think Trump wants to step away from that approach. I think peace and reconciliation are more on his mind than sanctions and war.
At the same time, I think Trump knows sanctions and war are embedded in the minds of many politicians as necessary tools that need to be used aggressively. For his agenda, he needs those politicians so he has to create a workaround.
It’ll be interesting to watch how he does that.

I have a very old and beautifully made rocking chair with a fabric label so faded it could not be read. After taking numerous pictures of varying magnifications and lighting that failed to shed light on the mystery manufacturer, I found a particular flash and camera that revealed the name so clearly that it was like magic!
To use one of the metaphors Sundance is so fond of, he is the flash that allowed me to see into the DoS/CIA silos as I never have before. And this new insight gives me a level of understanding, both of the magnitude of the problem, and how President-elect Trump appears to be attempting to sap DoS/CIA of its power by using entirely new channels of global communication accessible only to him and his administration.
And that gives me hope that we, the people won’t be forever ruled by a shadow government this evil and unaccountable.

But….totally wrong on the second part–“enmeshed foreign service missions.”
The two entities have intersecting missions. That means that they may share an objective: ie, “Determine the plans and intentions of host government ruling party in the upcoming local elections.” But their actions to achieve that objective are completely different, and fundamentally at odds. Historically, DOS officers lack budgets for their operations, relying on the goodwill of their local contacts to share details with them, meeting overtly and having mutual discussions. On the other end of the spectrum, intel officers have a potentially unlimited budget, using human intelligence recruitment methods to gain cooperation from sources.
These differences lead to virtually NO cooperation between the two competing US government operations. Even though they are housed in the same building in a foreign country, the two have virtually no working level contacts. Management meets, as part of the “country team,” with the intel guys coordinating and deconflicting their operations, and providing a generic description to the Ambassador, to gain his approval, for any risky ops. However, even that requirement is observed in the breach.
To an outsider, it may appear that DOS/CIA are one entity, but the fact is very, very different. In order to corral these two powerful foreign affairs bureaucracies, MAGA must have a clear understanding of the workings of these bureaucracies.
They are parallel, but totally separate entities.
