In reaction to the pending arrival of President Trump, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is now saying the conflict with Russia is possible to end with diplomacy:
(Via CBS) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv would like to end the war with Russia next year through “diplomatic means” as both countries prepare for President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
In an interview with the Ukrainian media outlet Suspilne, Zelenskyy said he is certain that the war will end “sooner” than it otherwise would have once Mr. Trump becomes president. (read more)
It is important to remember that in this “new democracy” framed by the support of U.S-led NATO, Zelenskyy cancelled all elections within Ukraine in order to maintain his alignment with western influence.
Zelenskyy’s new position is a natural outcome of President Trump’s pending arrival.
President Trump really doesn’t have to do much; all he needs to do is withdraw U.S. support, wait a little while, demand Ukraine hold elections, and Zelenskyy will flee the nation because the political support he needs to retain the illusion of the fight is not present in the will of the Ukraine majority.
Calling for diplomacy is an outcome of Ukraine’s inherent weakness if even the slightest measure of U.S. support is withdrawn. Ukraine can only maintain the battle as long as the U.S. continues funneling money, weapons and direct targeting assistance into the battlefield.
This is not a difficult conflict to end. The problem for Washington DC is the simplicity of the solution. When President Trump ends the bloodshed, there is an entire military complex who will suddenly face the curious stares of the global western population. Washington DC is in a very precarious position.
In a rather ironic twist, the pretense of the DC proletariat is going to be the outcome. The future of Ukraine is going to be determined by the people inside Ukraine who have suffered under Zelenskyy’s regime.
The only question remaining is essentially, where will Volodymyr Zelenskyy end up? He’s not going to be in Ukraine.

If my memory serves, which of course is suspect, Russia started this with 3 goals in mind.
Ukraine needed to to quit attacking 2 regions since 2014(can’t remember what they are called at the moment) with Nazi filled battalions and honor its original agreement to allow those regions to vote on independence.

I’ve seen a lot of comments and articles about Zelinsky himself, or sitting down to discuss a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. But I have not seen very much written about the two regions getting a vote for independence or becoming part of Russia or remaining in Ukraine or whatever they decide.
I have seen many articles or thoughts about rebuilding, buying up land and resources of Ukraine, but none on reparations or rebuilding those 2 regions. Should they not also receive reparations from Ukraine and Western alliances for damages and to be rebuilt?
Seems to me those 2 regions should be at the table for the “peace negotiations” too.
All countries seem anxious to divvy up the resources and except large contracts to rebuild Ukraine, but not those 2 regions. Do all the countries that have been supporting Ukraine in this fiasco not also owe something to these 2 regions and possibly Russia?

DPR and LPR already voted to join Russia and Russia has already accepted them into Russia. They’re already constitutionally part of Russia by the Russian constitution. Crimea has been incorporated years ago. It’s assumed that Russia will also take the Odessa region along with Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. That would encompass all of the predominantly Russian regions.

The situation started properly started hotting up after Russia’s Nov 2021 proposals for a solid security agreement covering their western border, mainly Ukraine neutral, was rejected out of hand by US/NATO. Seeing the writing on the wall, more particularly the large increase in Ukrainian Army shelling of the two regions, Luhansk and Donetsk, Russia struck first.
The original agreements, Minsk 1 and 2, did not include those regions getting independence just a degree of self rule in Ukraine. That went by the board in the SMO and now they and two other regions, after voting, are now part of Russia.
Eastern Ukraine, after almost total destruction by a US/NATO backed army as per say Iraq, is not being left to fester like it was.
Russia is not expecting reparations etc as it regards the regions as now part of Russia and their responsibility and Russian Property Law is in place. So it is pumping resources into those areas as soon as it becomes safe to do so. The transformation of the destroyed city of Mariupol is stunning. These works are being done wherever possible by military related construction units. There is no profit oriented feeding trough visible.
As you say, the vultures are soaring around Ukraine but they are well aware that any pickings for them will only be in the areas outside Russian control. The legal changes have been made. Vast areas will be sold to foreigners (many landowners have died in the war) so Ukraine is heading back to the days of serfdom.
Russia is a proud and rich country. There is no way they would request or accept ‘charity’ from the West.

I see two things that had to happen before he could even begin to talk about peace negotiations.

He (Zelensky) could not rely on that before Donald Trump won the election, could he?
So, Donald Trump is now the president-elect. Other people are saying now that they can talk about things they couldn’t talk about before.
The second thing that happened is that Donald Trump started giving his team some heavy assignments, showing how much he means business. It is to me no coincidence that almost as soon as Matt Gaetz was named as Attorney General, Zelensky started tlking about swift peace negotiations.
He doesn’t have to fear someone like Lindsey or Boris putting the kibosh on any attempt he makes to end this.
He knows this has to end, and he believes that under President Trump he has a modicum of protection.
Look who the IC Deep State/NATO/Globalists etc teamed up with in the Balkans against the Orthodox Christian Serbs, Nazis,Crime cartels involved in horrific crimes, and Jihadists which included at least 2 of the 9/11 hijackers according to the ‘official’ 9/11 fairytale which was quite a gift to the Neocons & their allies in foreign nations………………….
