A reward for past Wolverine efforts.
President Trump has announced the nomination of former Republican Congressman Doug Collins for the position of Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Former House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Doug Collins was one of the key congressional representatives during the Trump-Russia madness who helped shine a light on all the nonsense. In his Judiciary Committee position, Collins released all of the transcripts of investigative testimony, taken by the committee.
Collins used his position to outwit Chairman Elijah Cummings and release the transcripts from the floor of the House, putting them into the public record. The transcripts were a key tool in tearing apart the lies fed to media in the effort to frame President Trump.
Collins then left the house to run for Georgia Senate where he was chewed up by the corrupt Georgia Republican establishment and undermined in the primary race. It’s nice to see Doug Collins remembered for his strong position in the fight against corruption.

A strong fighter in an important position!! Excellent choice! Can you imagine how much more MAGA Georgia could be if the “machine” was dismantled?!! (And the “machine” operates on BOTH sides of the aisle, for sure!!)
As a former Army Special Forces soldier, I love this pick!
Ditto. Right guy for the right reason.
He’s an excellent pick!
What Group?
Yes, we still have elections problems here in GA. Collins was my congressman, and this is an excellent choice!
Collins was my congressman, too. He is a great man. Great pick. I am over the moon.
How many of us from the GA 9th are in the treehouse?
Me
That’s up around Helen, right? My husband and I used to go up there on long weekends to decompress from living and working in metro Atlanta. To us, that’s God’s country.
We moved back to my home State of Indiana 20 years ago. You couldn’t work in Atlanta AND get away from the evil clouds that were forming over Atlanta. We knew we had to go.
If everything goes bad, we have put ourselves in a very safe place. If, on the other hand, we have managed to save ourselves last week, we will be heading back your way to retire in the most beautiful place on earth – the North Georgia Mountains.
We are homesick.
We should meet.
Didn’t President Trump say at one of his rallies that he would be coming after the people who committed election fraud? He said it didn’t matter who they were, he was going to prosecute. Well if he sticks to that all these people flat out cheating people out of their seats will soon have their comeuppance.
I am hoping that he will eventually be running for governor one day. Even though I live in another state, I do respect and wish him well!
It has proven to be as infested with RINOs as Texas and Arizona. VERY crooked states where some people think they can just do what they want because they want to.
I cannot believe al of these people who manage our voting/counting processes who thin it is OK too have their own PACs to go after people. It is beyond the pale.
And for the Texas legislators to say Paxton can’t go after election fraud. Crazy.
This is also something that must be fixed and I recommend Joe Hoft, among others, to set out TRUE AUDIT processes and procedures that must be followed by law. And we should be able to randomly select a few places within each state to audit every election season, just for grins.
I would recommend that President Trump tap Catherine Englebrecht of True the Vote to oversee a complete overhaul of Federal election systems, starting with the elimination of ANY electronic voting systems, and severely limiting the availability of absentee/mail-in voting.
The states could determine different procedures, if they choose to do so, for state and local elections, but most would probably just adapt their systems to meet the requirements for national elections, which would, in and of itself, eliminate a significant portion of the fraud!
Can the Federal government dictate by statute election procedures for Federal offices? (Pres + VP, Senate and House). Should be done ASAP, before 2026.
I think all federally races should be by separate ballot. Election Day only, paper ballots, no machiness and valid ID, citizens only.
You have to allow deployed military to votes as well, but otherwise I agree 100%
100%, but the way it is done now is beyond ludicrous.
There is nothing free, fair or secure about UOCAVA balloting. It’s as dumb as using black box machines with software from the 90s to “count” anything, or millions flash drives being used and carried and driven around the states.
This is 2024. Seriously? This is the best we can do??
Under civil rights statues the feds can bring in soldiers if they need to.
That’s why I am convinced a younger black head of the civil rights division could go around the local political and get real results in the grass roots of the urban centers.
It needs to be clear we don’t care who you vote for but your vote needs to count and not be diluted and dismissed by ballots of those who have chosen not to vote produced by people who think they more entitled and better then you.
That my friend is a winning and enforcible argument.
Congress can set “time place and manner” rules on Congressional elections. Presidential elections not so clear-cut with the use of electors, but Congress can set the “time” for choosing electors and the “day” on which they give their votes.
Supreme Ct has generally expanded the power of Congress in voting rules.
Under what specific constitutional provisions or congressional law would allow PDJT to change or revamp elections run by the States? Just curious.
I do not believe that he would have Constitutional authority to change laws in different states, EXCEPT where it pertained to FEDERAL elections…
But even then the Constitution says states will elect their representatives in the manner they decide. Maybe he could use fraud or election interference? Maybe RICO since the cheating appears to be organized and spread between multiple persons and organizations.
Maybe a couple of class action lawsuits will bring attention.
Fraud in ANY state affects voters in EVERY state, especially now that direct election of senators ensures that the winners are working for big money DC lobbyists and not their constituents back home
🎯👏
If they are violating the civil rights of citizens by denying them the right and weight of their vote the feds can walk in and take over.
<“But even then the Constitution says states will elect their representatives in the manner they decide”
Nope. What it actually says is (actually two provisions):
Art I/1:
“the electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature.” i.e., if states allow illegals to vote for their state reps illegals can also vote in federal elections.
Art I/4:
“The times, places and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations, except as to the places of choosing Senators.” [emphasis mine].
Subsequently Amendment XIV/2:
“But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such state, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.” [since amended to include women and lowering age to 18].
Civil rights statues see above
Thanks. But from prior cases, haven’t the courts, including SCOTUS, refused to recognize or entertain that point? I would include in those refusals the cases that were dismissed for “lack of standing.”
Or has it never been raised in prior cases?
And mandatory photo ID before accepting any ballot. Driver license or state issued ID.
All voting to occur on just one election day Tuesday.
If we use “state-issued” anything, don’t we run into the same problem where some states give out licenses/ID’s to essentially anyone? It seems we need other minimum requirements. And isn’t that essentially what the SAVE Act was trying to do? And wouldn’t that essentially be the same as implementing a national/federal ID which some opponents of the SAVE Act argued against?
Agree
A great responsibility given, to a very deserving person.
He will be excellent!
Same can be said for SC. The lengths they go to in order to maintain their control….
👍
Well done! Much deserved, one of the FEW standouts who showed integrity with his steadfast pursuit of Truth in the depths of the fear mongering swamp.
Trust & Loyalty is the overriding quality PT is going with this time around.
Happy for Collins.
What do you make of PT #2 picks for DOJ?
Donald J. Trump, a truly good man and a truly good leader; demands loyalty but also loyal to the core.
Excellent pick President Trump. Veterans deserve a strong MAGA VA Secretary.
What you said.
I too am very proud of the Doug Collins comeback. His race was STOLEN too! Glad to get him back on our team!
President Trump pays attention and remembers those who stand up for the Constitution.
Congratulations, Doug Collins.
Do right by our vets who have suffered at the hands of an administration which despises them.
They deserve no less and a whole lot more.
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
I am as sure of this as I have been ever of anything else…
When President Trump was looking at the list of potential nominees for this position, his memory of this man (and no doubt others like him) were front and centre in his mind and in his heart. I’m also sure he conveyed to Doug Collins he has a sacred duty to these who rely on the VA.
I am the proud mother of a Navy vet.
You have your orders Mr Collins.
This picture always catches my attention.
The man lost both arms.
President Trump recognized the importance of human touch, and put his hand on the man’s face.
Touch is important. No longer having arms and hands, you can see how much meeting President Trump meant to this man…..along with the touch to his face.
Trump is more, MUCH more, than a “politician”.
Can you imagine any Democrat doing this, Greg?? No, I can’t either.
Touch is everything. For President Trump, it’s instinct and empathy writ as large as one can, both which cannot be taught…or faked.
This just might be my favourite photo of him because it defines his soul.
How blessed are we to have him at this pivotal and existential moment?
Perfectly state, Betsy! This picture is full of love. Thanks for posting it!
I am so moved, Deborah, every time I see it.
Got something in my eyes Betsy. 🥹
It must be contagious, WorkforHim…same 💕
What a beautiful photo! Only our President Trump would touch this man’s face since he wouldn’t be able to feel a handshake! The joy on his face and those around them! I’m not crying…Love!
Me either…
Always brings tears!
President Trump’s innate kindness brings the devil-infested left to frenzy. See any recent headline/video/post for proof.
Surrounded by progs, I hope these brilliant selections continue.
Another great pick! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hard workers and loyal to President Trump. That is what we need to undermine the Deep State and carry on the job of government efficiently and effectively.
Yes, another great pick!
What is going on!!!???
Not a single one of America’s generals picked for anything this time around?
How will we survive?
Back to slamming on the military in this latest ‘iteration?’ 👀
Why would Trump pick from generals who only made it to general after Obama ran off the good ones and replaced them with ‘TV’ generals?
Pretty soon, these new ones are going to be out of work, and those 230+ former who just supported Trump will be advising, if not brought back to duty.
What would Volatile or Twain say? 😉
maybe……“Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a woke general; but I repeat myself” ?
Back to the “Recognizing Sarcasm” seminar, again.
So much for the Academy Boys.
Wonderful news. He is from my hometown, Gainesville, Georgia. Congratulations to Doug Collins. These are exciting times!
As a veteran, I am very happy to see this.
Ditto….
Doug is articulate in every way as well.
Awesome.
As a Chaplain, I so hope he sees how badly the VA has become infected with transgender nonsense, and puts an immediate end to it.
My husband and I were believing that President Trump would have a prominent place for Doug Collins; he’s the real deal and loved in Georgia.
His election was rigged beyond the pale.
Amen to all of your comment. We said the same about his election. Stolen in the shadows. PDJT seems to really appreciate his loyalty and love for our country. Excellent choice🙏🏻
Great choice! Congratulations Mr Collins!
Congratulations, Secretary Collins.
Good to see Doug’s loyalty returned. His political career was destroyed when Jeffrey Sprecher and his wife stepped in to attempt to buy a Georgia Senate seat from Brian Kemp.
Brian Kemp — ugh!
We LOVE Doug Collins! He’s one of the good guys. Incredibly happy for him. I only wish he would have been our Governor.
Well done Mr. President! He will make America proud 🙏🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
Payback’s a bitch!
Georgia is rotten.
I know Doug. He is a good guy. He was at Dobbins when I was there.
Doug is truly one of the finest people I have ever known. As a U.S. Marine, I can not think of a better person to serve in this role.
Congratulations, Doug.
Not fix the system.
“….corrupt Georgia Republican establishment.”
As Dutchman says, “I’ve been saying it, well, haven’t i?”
And they didn’t even have to get help from the Dems in Georgia. 👀
Yellow dogs, as we used to call them back in the day.
It’s all the same, only the names have changed.
Very happy for Doug Collins, great guy!
Ironically, the best MAGA Georgia ever produced before MAGA was a gleam in anyone’s eye was another Georgia congressman – LARRY MacDONALD! A Democrat if you can believe it.
Man was preaching it and walking the walk and everyone thinking he was crazy. And yet here we are talking about stuff that man was talking about 45-50 years ago.
Und Zell Miller
My grandfather always said, “Georgia has the best politicians money could buy”. The thing was you had to figure out who bought them. Kemp is owned by the Chinese and the companies that ship into our ports.
Vivek Ramaswamy wants to start DOGE cuts by eliminating funding for unauthorized programs – including veteran healthcareSocial media users were quick to point out some of the programs that received funding despite lacking current Congressional authorization. One is the Veterans’ Health Care Eligibility Reform Act of 1996, which helps provide funding for veterans’ medical care. The authorization expired in 1998, but still receives about $120 billion in funding.
That is literal cut and paste from a yahoo article I was just reading.
Nothing but a fear porn headline for liberal talking points to us veterans for a week.
Nothing but media poo poo. Disregard the veterans healthcare angle.
The Georgia peach that hammers.
Love this! loyalty rewarded!
Right on. I always like Doug. Outstanding choice.
Down the road
Governor of Georgia
Collins has a nice ring to it
.
Thank you, Sundance, for this reminder
Dang! I completely forgot about him. Excellent!
I like Doug Collins and wish him great success in his new position.
IMO, he is a good guy.
He is a very good choice. Sad that he “lost” his Senate race to someone who was and still is unqualified. This is what happens when there is chicanery in the vote tally.
Mark Meadows Speaks of Friendship with Elijah Cummings

Very nice!
Robert Wilke did a great job and will be missed here. Dang.
President Trump remembers the kindness of his allies. Doug Collins is certainly one of many.
Message to President Trump: carry on, Sir!
Collin’s may yet run again in Georgia once the corruption is weeded out.
