President Trump has announced the creation of a new department. The Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE (tongue in cheek head nod to the Dogecoin cryptocurrency created by Musk). Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will be tasked with reducing the size and scope of government and completing the agenda by July 4th, 2026.
These choices by President Trump most likely were made some time ago. I know he had a group of people over the past many months plotting different scenarios and how best to accomplish his objectives with the right people, not waiting until after Nov. 5 to figure out who to pick/nominate for all these positions.

I look at it through the politics prism, and what was best for each of them at the time they said those things. Many have said much much worse, and I think you know that. Its politics. Period.
But what The Lion has planned for these 2 guys, is not only wanted, it is needed. The American people are amped up, over this new Department. That I read will operate outside of the Government, which is something that isnt really clear to me, how it will work. Or if it is even legal. You know the rats in Dc are going to fight this to the death if need be. You know the criminals like Elias and the rest of the Marxist lawyers are not just going to roll over and play dead here. We are talking trillions at stake, as SD has said before.
As Elon said earlier, its either do it, or America goes bankrupt. That it just happens to be 1 or 2 guys that some dont care for, is not the problem.
The issue is…. it needs to be done, now, rather than later.
Personal animus aside, the idea is not only a cure for some of what ails America, it is simply a needed remedy for the continuation of The Republic.

I think we’re all missing the big picture for the next two years. As always: follow the money. The Musk initiative will “trump” virtually everything. Defense, Education, Homeland Security, Intelligence et al are on a chopping block bigger than we grasp. It will be massive because it has to be massive. That, or we face a future dictated by the mercy of financial restraint and a public that will become increasingly restless. In that sense some of Trump’s appointments are a public face. He’s not looking for strong people fighting for their turf. Look at it from that stand point and some of these appointments make more sense. Very interesting times ahead.

Musk and X are bitter sweet for me. I still don’t trust him. His cars are crap and X won’t let me make an account no matter what source email be it proton, gmail, anything else I’ve tried. Tried different user names, IP source and different browsers. Never had a twitter/X account before so I’ve never been banned or anything.
I’m not saying he won’t do what we need in this capacity, but I’m simply wondering if the quality of his product will worth it. If it’s spaceX level maybe, if it’s X/tesla/cybertruck quality I’m not holding my breath.

Have you ever been in a Tesla? I mean Im no big fan of electric cars, but I rode in a Model S or whatever it was, and that thing was pretty impressive. The power was ridiculous. It would give my 70 1/2 Camaro a run for its money. Seen a few at the drag strip, pulling off some pretty stout times too. A few of my friends have the base model, they seem to like them, although they both have big trucks and some nice cars too.
And oh dat big heavy battery that is just fine until it gets wet and all of a sudden goes boom boom.

I live in SoCal and pass through Irvine regularly. All I see are tesla’s and cyber trucks. (to be fair the CyberTrucks are almost all Pool guys.. go figure) at least 5-10 white tesla can be found around me at any given time.
My boss has the really fast one but he still drives his Z06 daily because the tesla handles like crap. He gave it to his wife I think. The number of times I see a tesla speed up to 90-100 to race something cuz they think they are cool only to see them losing control and then breaking heavily because they or their tesla can’t handle bumps or turns at speed is a regular occurrence.
I already have two modded sports cars that I swap between daily. They are both paid off, both have decent gas mileage. One has close to 300whp, both are reliable motors, both are very quick off the line. I deal with teslas all day and while I see them having to max out every time to pass me and then stay ahead of me. Pretty soon that battery starts groaning, meanwhile I’m right behind them and passing them every turn.. It’s not long before they have to choose between establishing their superiority and having enough charge to get where they are going.. meanwhile I and my cars can do this all day every day.
To be fair it only took 30 more tries. Won’t say how many times I tried before that.. but seems I’m on now.
Not quite sure what I’m going to do beyond troll libs like I already do on reddit. But maybe I won’t get banned as easily on X as I do on reddit.

I couldn’t figure out how to get back on either after years of being removed, but my son in law made me a new account with my same phone number and email last week. Elon is a good man and PT just loves him. He’s been basically living at MAL with his son, since the election helping with anything PT asks of him. He’s become part of the family.
I welcome this as all of us do, but if we thought the peeps working throughout the swamp at their desks tried to muck up Trump’s first term, how furious they will now throw sand in the machinery knowing the recommendations from DOGE is “Fire them!”
It’s hard to see Vivek happy to play second fiddle. But it’s refreshing that there are two such eminent personalities to whom cutting government waste is important. Maybe they can finally execute what Perot and Paul wanted to do.
