DEVELOPING STORY….
South Dakota voting system experienced technical issues Friday
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now/KTIV) – On Friday, Nov. 1, South Dakota’s voting system faced issues that affected in-person absentee voting.
The issue reportedly stemmed from South Dakota’s Total Vote system and prevented election officials from checking early voters in. The issue was first reported in the morning, around 11 a.m., but the system was back up and running a few hours later.
According to Dakota News Now, there were extremely long lines at several early-voting locations and this issue affected counties all across the state. In Sioux Falls, election officials had to use spreadsheets to check in voters, which slowed down the process but allowed people to vote.
Yankton and Clay Counties were also affected by the system issue, but election officials in those counties have told KTIV that residents were still able to vote. This is because they had backup lists they could use to sign in early voters. Because of these lists, officials say no voters in Yankton County or Clay County were turned away.
This is a developing story and we will provide more details as they become available.
I don’t think we have to worry about how SD is going to vote, despite the glitch. Trump won by 26% in 2020.

In PA, you could –
a) have already applied for and rec’d. an ‘absentee ballot’ mailed to your home to bring to your county’s voting center and drop it off (completed), or,
b) if you did not yet request your absentee ballot, you could go to the voting center, request it (as long as it was by the declared deadline date) complete it, and hand it in.
I did “b” about two weeks ago, in Lehigh County / Allentown, PA (where PDJT recently held a rally).
I did “a” three weeks ago, and glad I did. Bucks Co is experiencing 5 hr waits today. Are you feeling positive about Lehigh Co?

I can’t tell you how many times I walked down that very sidewalk, many, many decades ago. That old courthouse dates back to the late 1960s.
FWIW, the Board of Elections in most counties is the ‘accessories’ department of county government. It doesn’t do much work (only once a year is it busy), gets little funding, and is staffed by hacks.
In Bucks, the Board consists of 3 persons from “Lower Bucks”: two Democrats and an old RINO. If you read my primer the other day about Bucks County, then you know what this means.
This early voting train wreck is 50% intentional, and 50% sheer incompetence.
Either way, it is voter suppression and a violation of PA state elections law. And I would not be surprised if the Trump Campaign and the RNC is in there this evening with another emergency petition.

I need to make a statement.
This morning on CNN I referred to Trump’s “rifles” quote as him advocating a “firing squad” for Liz Cheney. I was reacting in haste to what were objectively appalling and irresponsible comments that had been framed in the set-up piece in the context of previous statements Trump made about shooting protestors and having generals “executed.” Still, I was wrong to say he was calling for a firing squad execution. After I said that, my co-panelist, Brad Todd made the case that I was wrong. Brad was right and, again, I was wrong. Trump was making – albeit in his customary fashion – a different argument about Cheney’s alleged foreign policy views and the use of force. I let my disgust at Trump’s comments get the better of me as this was the first time I’d heard them.
In fact, at the end of the program, having thought about it, I said as much (though I could have been clearer). A fact that has been left out in a lot of the criticism of me since this morning. In other words, I voluntarily conceded the point, unprompted, before any of this subsequent criticism came my way. (You can find it around the 2:20 mark in the video below).
I regret the initial comment because it was inaccurate and contributed to the kind of overheated environment Trump thrives on.
Trump’s words were bad enough.
But it’s worth noting that a lot of the criticism about my inaccuracy is itself somewhat inaccurate, or at least incomplete, given my correction.

On May 23, 2024, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that he intended to have the legislature vote on a bill to ban foreign spending on ballot initiatives. The same day, Sixteen Thirty sent $6 million to CNP. CNP then spent every penny it had before the law actually went into effect, with its July campaign finance report showing $0 cash on hand.
The law prohibiting foreign funding of ballot measures was also challenged in court by Democrat lawyer Marc Elias, who has previously served as Wyss’s lawyer. The suit challenging the Ohio law did not name Wyss as a plaintiff, with Elias instead saying he was representing others including a nonprofit advocating for nonbinary Asians.”
Marc Elias and Hansjorg Wyss should be given cement shoes and a boat ride.
I think unless absolutely sure what the proposal means, the safest vote on any of these is, no.
There was one in Georgia that seemed good (some tax reduction thing I think for business or something of a monetary link), but I began thinking how narrowly focused is this to just a handful of people/entities. I voted, no. It just seemed slipping thru slimey to me.

Yes, I think that these things are now extremely important to “our nation,” and that they will immediately confront our next “President, Senate, and House.” No matter who they turn out to be. The priorities of their very next “legislative session” are already set out – and they are not(!) pretty.

BREAKING: The Colorado Libertarian Party just sued to force the entire state to decommission all voting machines and move to a total hand count of the ballots after Jena Griswold LEAKED the passwords
They point out that machines were decommissioned in the past for the exact same nature of leaks, “On August 12, 2021, the Secretary issued Election Order 2021-02, which ordered the decommissioning of 41 voting system components in Mesa County affected by the exposure of the BIOS passwords, forcing the purchase of new equipment at the county’s expense.”

BREAKING: A federal judge in Ohio just issued a smackdown ruling against Democrats by rejecting their motion to block the Secretary of State’s rule requiring voters to show proof of citizenship if their status is unclear
The judge found that “Plaintiffs have not demonstrated an undue burden on their fundamental right to vote nor that they have suffered disparate treatment so as to warrant the exercise of the Court’s remedial powers on their behalf.”
