CBS has been caught producing, via editorial manipulation, two entirely different responses to the same question.
Everyone has been asking CBS to just simply release the full transcript. CBS has refused. The assumption is now about the manipulative content of the broadcast being so extreme that to release a transcript would be even worse than what is already known. The FCC complaint is simple and accurate, which is likely why CBS has never attempted to defend itself, until today.

60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. It is likely CBS will, eventually, release the full transcript. However, not until after the election. It is remarkable how CBS is willing to destroy any semblance of brand image that may have been left; but that position is merely just a reflection of our 2024 political situation.

I recently had dinner with a group of friends. One of the wives really believes the world will end if PDJT is re-elected.
In trying to discuss the matter with her, whenever I would offer factual evidence contrary to her beliefs, she would think about what I said and her response would be, “I don’t want to believe that.”
She didn’t say, “I don’t believe that.” Instead she said, “I don’t want to believe that.”
She can’t go against her belief system that has been engrained, and validated to her, by the MSM and politicians from her political party. So her default is she doesn’t WANT to believe in any other possibilities.

As to being unwilling to accept new information, I think it might be a form of a “fight or flight response”. For whatever reason (some you listed:fear, pride etc) they cannot or will not address the fact that what they believe might be wrong so instead of looking at it critically which would be difficult for them (fight), they chose the easy route and ignore anything that might upset their world view (flight).
I think you are absolutely correct and I hadn’t really thought about it in those terms but it does make sense. The third option in that scenario is another possibility which is “freeze”… how many people do we all know who are in highly dysfunctional situations but they absolutely refuse to make even the smallest change that might improve their life?
I have two dear friends, who are both strong Christians, but the number of bad choices they have made their entire lives continue to compound (unto the 3rd and 4th generations) while they simply throw their hands up in the air and say, “Well, I’m praying about it and I know God can fix it, so it’s up to Him to step in and do something if that’s His plan!”
Absolutely drives me crazy but sadly, there are many, many people, on both sides of the political aisle who basically have the same attitude, although one deflects responsibility to God and the other deflects responsibility to the government. There are 80 pages of my policies and plans, on the economy, etc”. I paraphrased this, but my thought was, who wants to read 80 pages of a candidate’s plans? Why can’t she summarize her plans? We just get disjointed bits and pieces, such as, first year only increased childcare credit, 25 grand to buy a home, tax the rich, follow newly enacted immigration laws. Never does Harris say what these reformed immigration laws should be. Most likely because they will be very unpopular with 50% of the country.

I liken the editorial edits to the voting edits (whether tabulating the same votes multiple times, software or algorithm/math programming to make a vote less or more than one, ballot harvesting, and other methods of fraud). It is these later edits we need immediate accountability – to detect them and if possible head off before they occur.
