In this interview Tucker Carlson talks with Mark Halprin, a well-connected journalist that Tucker Carlson cites as the epicenter of all political power and journalistic knowledge since the mid-1980’s. Accordingly, the magnanimous and enlightened Mark Halprin knows more about the institutions of electoral influence, political power structures, people and organizations of political influence than most journalists, so sayeth Carlson. And so, their discussion follows along.
If you are nostalgic for the time before you saw the strings on the political marionettes, and/or you like to remind yourself how you viewed politics in the era long before elections were decided by ballots instead of voters, you will enjoy this satiating conversation of how things used to be.
Both Halprin and Carlson pretend things are just like they were, while they apply 1998 political insight to the 2024 election year, and -for some reason- people discuss it.
However, if you have stopped pretending and you understand that modern political outcomes are determined by ballot systems, local ballot printing, fraudulent voter rolls to give the illusion of attribution to the locally printed ballots, and tabulation centers that conduct the necessary scanning of unattributed ballots to a number needed to generate the outcome, then this food-filled discussion about political sides between Halprin and Carlson ends up leaving you somewhat hungry.
Here’s an example. Within the interview Mark Halprin notes that Kamala Harris campaign has raised over a billion dollars, and that’s just the money from inside the campaign; there’s much more from “outside groups and interests.” With jaw-agape Carlson curiously asks where that money came from? Halprin replies, “I have no idea,” and they simply move along.
Yes, the conversation is about various subsets of voters, black men who don’t support Harris as much, and a multitude of other various popular narratives that surround the 2024 election as written in various media. Let me cut to the proverbial chase, none of that stuff matters.
Yes, along the same approach expressed by the Halprin’s and Carlson’s of the world, Barack Obama might be calling out the “brothers” who do not intend to vote for Kamala Harris. However, in the real world of 2024 a very non-pretending James Clyburn might just as well say, “yes they are, they just don’t know it.” Why, because Clyburn controls the ballots of “the brothers”; their voting intent is irrelevant.
Thus, we highlight once again the distinction between voters and ballots that seems intentionally lost amid a constructed interview between the very enlightened Halprin and the curiously incurious Carlson.
What exactly is the value of the conversation when the subject matter surrounding it is as useful to the 2024 election as vinyl records to modern rap music. You decide.
To answer the question about Kamala Harris’ extraordinary fundraising, let’s just revisit demonstrable history.
First, James Clyburn’s operation was constructed during the Obama era through the financing of something called the Pigford Settlement. Yes, Pigford-I was the payment mechanism behind taxpayer funds being shifted from govt to the very specifically black community. The Clyburn team, along with legal powerhouses like Morgan & Morgan, were part of the payment distribution architecture.
With the capital to start the mechanics of the AME ballot scanning operation now financed, along comes the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, set up by Elizabeth Warren, to funnel fines and pressure payments from the USA banking and finance sector to a host of progressive networks, ie community organizing groups.
There you go. That’s the ‘elevator speech’ answer behind the odd “I don’t know” retort of Mark Halprin.
What was the intent of this interview? I have no idea. However, what they discuss seems like a conversation that might have been pertinent to elections many cycles ago, but not now.
In the modern era facilitated by the rise of Teh One Lightbringer of all political truth, what many might remember as our promised “fundamental change,” voters are irrelevant to the outcome.
That said, there are very serious efforts underway to apply tactical civics in this new battleground. In that contest based on reality we destroy local ballot printing operations, block the use of fraudulent voter rolls and find industrious ways to stop the secret scanning operations within the AME network of 17 county tabulation centers.
If tactical civics are successful, and we are about to discover that “if” answer, then the conversation that Halprin and Carlson are currently having might reapply in the next election. However, until then, talking about what voters intend to happen while ignoring the irrelevance therein, seems to miss the proverbial point of where we are in the modern era of ‘ballot collection’ elections.

Mark Halperin (correct spelling of his last name) summarizes Kamala’s major shortcomings in first parts of Tucker interview:
1) She is indecisive on big decisions
2) She has no original ideas
3) She won’t call out and distance herself from extremists in Dem party
4) She won’t take risks or dump old ideas
5) She’s not good at delivering sound bites or distilling & communicating complex issues so people understand
6) She doesn’t run good operations
Vote Trump 2024 for President for someone proven excels at each of the above.
So….your saying!! A janitor is a better choice? Si!!!
Hopefully, majority of voters recognize Harris shortcomings in a few other blue states outside of Clyburn ballot counting operation and surprise elect Trump over Harris & overwhelm/neutralize swing state Dem ballot operations.
Harris like Biden and Obama are pawns for the 23 million government employees today and thier massive unions.
Thank you JFK! Maybe not as Conservative as Revisionists want us to believe?
This election is not about Harris. It is about the massive Big Government employee unions clinging to power.
Never heard of this guy
Not once
I spent a few years working in media and have been a lifelong news junkie and this guy has never hit my radar
There is surely a narrative network
What I call the “long hairs” (deep thinkers on political philosophy) would know him. Krauthammer, (progeny of William F. Buckley, and the previous NRO crowd, David French, etc. Meet the Depressed (as Rush Limbaugh called them.)
He’s an MSM political analyst, and well known IMO. If you haven’t run across him, I’m guessing you stick to the better media sources and never view network news channels.
He’s on w Megyn Kelly a lot. Quite a good commentator
Good? Not based on this!
Tucker putting Halperin on his show is like falling into insanity. There’s so much cr-p coming out of that guy’s mouth I want to slap him. One minute I like tucker and the next I hate him. T.C is doing some kind of a cop out here and for the life of me it looks like he is placating the Left like a wimpy suffocating coward.
Why was HAL-perin being interviewed AT ALL? HAL? Calling HAL! HAL, do yourself a favor , open the bay door and please jump out!!
The hubris in that guy with Tucker sucking up to him, is extremely ugly.
Trump will win!! The leftist brain dead parasitic minds deserve nothing less. Time for them to reap what they have sown BIGLY.
At his heart Tucker is a frat boy.
I voted for Trump/Vance yesterday!
Through tactical civics we can defend our constitution, crush the DS. It’s our long forgotten duty.
Thank you for pointing that out Sundance. Like you say, live your best life. MAKE A AMERICA GREAT EVERY DAY!
Thank you, Sundance, for the shortest and most precise overview ever, of the real war we are waging, against the current corrupted voting system.
I won’t waste my time with that interview.
Your most precious gift, my dear friend to us all, is giving us the insight, to not waste too many moments, wallowing in the manufactured chaos, being used to shield the abject lawlessness and criminal behavior of our elected and non elected officials, their partners and all the useful idiots they use to carry it out.
I pray for you daily.
Pray for yourself when you continue to support Big Government and their unions every April 15.
As Sundance stated here and numerous times before, it’s the Ballots counted not the Voters who voted.
With that in mind, United Sovereign Americans (USA) is actually focused on exposing Ballots vs Voters. They have found that in 20 states alone, 2-Million more BALLOTS were counted than VOTERS who voted.
USA has a multi-layered legal strategy that began with filing Mandamus lawsuits in 9 states. https://unite4freedom.com/progress/
This is followed by citizen action through reporting the misconduct with Election Complaints which are tied to lawsuits that have standing in the courts. These fraudulent elections are an abridgment of our civil rights. They have a portal to report your Election Complaints. https://unite4freedom.com/election-complaint/
There is hope. There are solutions. There is no reason to settle for all the propaganda.
Should one union, SEIU, represent virtually all county election office employees in this country?
When thise same election office employees and thier unions have a direct, immediate and existential interest in election outcomes?
.
TC is a goofball, he did a solid piece on J6 , then he interviews RFK who says Trump lost the 2020 election fair and square , Carlson starts laughing like a doofus nodding his head like an idiot ,
I suspect that anyone we now see in the public square, who is suddenly pulling for Donald Trump at this late date, has an agenda or ulterior motive up their sleeves. First of all, if they were truly on the side of MAGA, the ENEmedia would never, EVER amplify their voices. It’s just not done, EVER, unless it helps the communists.
So how do these latecomers to MAGA position themselves to succeed, if not by ingratiating themselves within the core MAGA faithful, so that they can come out on top in the event of a successful removal of Trump in 2024?
I see what they’re doing and they all make me sick!
BINGO!
Never ever trust anyone who worked for the Communist News Network (CNN) or spent his whole life in the DC apparatus.
People like TC like to criticize people and makes fun of people who don’t hold his high standards.
I don’t trust a Jesuit bow tie wearing self righteous pompous AH who believes he is better then most.
Arizona. Ballot mailed to me October 9 per Maricopa County.
Still haven’t received.
Live in location where the “voting machines were broken” in 2022. No open early voting sites either.
Which union represents your county election office employees, who pull off this failed work product?
The public employees union(forgot the acronym) but hardly anyone or any office in Arizona is unionized. I don’t think the county has many union employees. Public safety, sheriff’s office does but not the county itself.
Why on earth are you voting by mail in Maricopa County? Up here in Mohave County I’m voting today, in person. I have always voted in person on election day… not this year.
Voting by mail because in 2022 on Election Day we were turned away because “the machines were broken”.
Also early voting has begun but not here or within 30 or so miles. No open early voting here until October 25 and then there is one locale.
I bet there are a ton of sites in blue areas of Phoenix.
This is voter suppression in my humble opinion.
Also we are older and the ballot has many, many propositions, etc to vote on and by mail I can help hubby.
A strategy my town committee is using in blueMA is to apply for the mail-in ballot, but when it arrives, open and plan carefully what to vote for, as well as making a photocopy of what you voted for, so you have a record.
THEN, next week when I can early vote in-person, I’ll be bringing my ballot to the town offices and handing it to a human. No USPS involved!
However, I do understand that 30 miles (60 roundtrip) is a lot for a busy person…
Report this at unite4freedom.com and/or votealert.org.
Mark Groubert of “America’s Untold Stories” has laid out the political and deep state connections of the Halprins (and Tucker/Richard Carlson too, for that matter). So when Halprin claims “I don’t know” and Tucker credulously accepts it, Sundance is right and proper to hoist them on their own petard.
Tucker incredibly accepted it.. I say that because Tucker has previously explored and called out the deep state connections of many journalists. So again IMHO Tucker was being too gracious…was willing to accept Halperin’s feigned ignorance.
“What was the intent of this interview? I have no idea.”
Tucker’s intent is the same as that of RFK Jr.,, Elon Musk and Tulsi Gabard, to support Donald Trump, and make it more likely, not less likely, that he will again be President. They are all helping Donald Trump do God’s work.
Whose work do your tax dollars continue to support?
Clue: it is not God’s work yet you continue to pay them to at you alive.
Basically I think Sundance is saying it’s not about how folks will vote it’s about the fraud and if it can be stopped.
Want to stop voting fraud… sign up to be a poll watcher.
I think the big fraud is not where people can see it, it’s not at the polling station.
Correct!
Brenrod, I totally agree! I have been and will be a poll watcher again, but that’s not where the big cheating occurs imho. I inquired about being at the counting stations, but they (my county) will not even tell me where the tabulation center is located.
I am tempted to become a member of Tucker Carlson .com for the sole purpose of posting Sundance’s analysis on the TC network. Think they will refund my money when they block me?
I sprang for the $75 already, and TC has done some good work, but still requires a jaundiced eye regards all the content.
I was thinking about signing up but after the Halperin interview , suspicious cat is saying make wise choices!
TCN does not provide for comments on that website. If you wish to comment on a Tucker interview, you have to go to X, YouTube, or Rumble and find the interview video, and then comment under that as a logged in member of that video platform.
Aaaandd – this particular interview was not on Rumble.
I searched for it extensively there, before setting up to watch it on The Social Media Formerly Known as Twatter.
Actually Steph the interview is on Rumble:
https://rumble.com/v5itnca-mark-halperin-on-why-he-thinks-trump-will-win-and-the-lefts-mental-collapse.html
And one of the top 3 out of 615 comments (so far) underneath:
“This guest reels off a bunch of false assumptions : “Trump lies a lot; you know, January 6” We know WHAT about January 6?
Bingo!
Wow! When I looked for it last night it came up empty.
Thanks for this link. But now that I’ve watched it on X I don’t think I’ll be repeating the experience. I have some toilets to clean with a toothbrush.
No problem Steph. My experience with Rumble is – it’s a bit tricky when searching for specific videos.
I have found the best search results are when I’m logged into Rumble (it’s free to create a User name & password) and enter both Tucker’s and his guest’s first & last names in the Search block.
Even then, the sort order of the resulting list of videos isn’t always optimum… you have to scroll thru them.
As the ground beneath these two shifts ready to open up and swallow them, they continue to practice the slickest form of gas lighting.
The only thing missing is the British accent, hear hear old boy!
Go to hell the both of you DC sewer scum.
The Harris money comes from the same source of most Democrat fund-raising.
The current 23 million government employees, thier family members and friends who have an existential self-interest in winning elections.
23 million, taxpayer supported government employees and their unions keep the Big Government grift of our tax dollars going.
This fact stares us in the eye every April 15. Why do so many choose to not identify this new ownership of this country?
The 23 million government employees and their Big Government unions. Do the math.
“…the secret scanning operations within the AME network of 17 county tabulation centers.”
I would like to see more detailed exposure of this fraud than read about talking heads discussing puppet shows and fake races that are always “neck to neck”.
My jaw dropped when Halperin announced that either Kommie-La or PDJT would win all seven swing states (in his vaunted prediction)…
…but that “either way it would be close.”
Then he went on to blithely start listing situations in which Kommie-La would win a few and PDJT would win a few.
Something wrong with the logic there…
In 1962, JFK allowed government employees to form unions.
This set up the free fall we now see destroying this country from within.
With 23 million government employees and a single government employee union, SEIU, representing virtually all county election office employees in America, the seeds for the destruction of our nation have been planted and fertilized by our own tax dollars.
Follow the money, so don’t act surprised to learned it leads back to your own hand funding this massive Big Government 5th column you are forced to fund every April 15.
You understand the Kennedy executive order was about federal employees; has nothing to do with county election workers. In Hawaii, state/local workers are primarily represented by AFSCME-affiliated HGEA and UPW unions, and HSTA NEA-affiliated teacher’s union. There are a few small unions for university/community college professors, fire, police etc.
SEIU primary rival UNITE HERE does have private workers organized here.
Note that federal gov’t is “right to work” so being “represented” in a federal “bargaining unit” means nothing to you if you don’t join the union. You retain civil service rights via MSPB and EEOC regardless of any union affiliation/membership.
Just for context, about 25 percent of federal employees belong to the union. In the FAA engineering office I worked in, there were 5 or fewer out of 60 that belonged to the union.
The Book of Daniel in God’s Holy Bible is filled with wise teaching that directly applies to modern times. My favorite part is the account of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego and the fiery furnace in Daniel 3.
Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar had made a golden idol and commanded that all people within the kingdom would be required to worship that golden idol. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, being Jews who were faithful to the one true God, refused to bow down to a false god. Nebuchadnezzar threatened to throw them in a fiery furnace if they didn’t obey.
The words these young Hebrew boys spoke in reply to the king serve as a great lesson to us today:
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king,
‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.’”
God may or may not deliver us from the “fiery furnace” of a stolen election. It is God’s will either way. Regardless of what outcome God delivers, God’s promises to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior still stand. We will serve the Lord!
I dispute your assertion that whaterever happens, ‘It is God’s will, either way’.
I thought that God has given us all as individuals, ‘free will’ to do either the right or wrong thing. What is the point of a day of judgement on us, if God is deciding everything anyway?
God has given us free will. We can choose to accept His free gift of salvation through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, or we can choose to reject Jesus. That choice we make will determine where we spend eternity-heaven or hell.
God has perfect knowledge of everything past, present and future, so He already knows what choices we will make. He also has a plan for the entire history of His creation and His Kingdom and that plan will not be thwarted by man.
The Bible says that we should pray continually in all matters in the name of Jesus Christ. Because all of us are broken, sinful creations of God our prayers may not necessarily be consistent with God’s will. That’s why we are taught in the Bible to pray “Thy will be done.”
I don’t know if it is God’s will that Donald Trump be elected president. We will know soon enough. In the meantime I will continue to pray for President Trump’s victory and the defeat of his enemies IF it is God’s will.
Patrick Byrne is claiming recent revelations on the distinction between voters and ballots.
(26 minute summary)
https://rumble.com/v5ivyzx–election-fraud-.html
I am glad to see multiple groups/people (True the Vote, United Sovereign Americans, TCH, Patrick Byrne) I have been following for a long time, now focusing on aspects of the same issues. It gives me hope we have found the Achilles heel of our enemy.
Looks like Byrne will be posting some more interesting stuff soon: “Several hours ago, I put up an explosive video of me simply walking through a PowerPoint. I took it down minutes thereafter. It will be going back up in days.”
Losing faith in
Tucker Carlson. I should never have gotten my hopes up. He’s part of THEM
Most of us have been there. It’s the ongoing saga of Battered Conservative Syndrome. 😉
It would be so blessedly simple to do right by the American people.
Heaven help us, it’s usually one step forward and three back.
We have to drag almost all of our representatives kicking and screaming into basic fiscal sanity, governmental restraint and election integrity.
But I will not stop and I will fight them every step of the way to maintain our rights.
Not pretending ever again.
Every day our message gets stronger as more people see the strings. I love the mocking coming from dems on Harris. That is the first step, the next is that All of the media is like that. There is no right or left media, all of it is propaganda and to be treated as such.
We get to welcome them to The Great Awakening. There are a lot more of us than there are of them and so help me, waking up as many people to how our government is making us fund our demise is my personal mission.
In other words, Tucker and Mark party like it’s 1998.
I’m surprised they didn’t talk about the Y2K silliness.
Tucker Carlson and Mark Halperin are talking about politics like it’s a long time ago. But today, things are different because how we count votes has changed a lot. Some people think their talk doesn’t really help us understand what’s happening now with voting and elections.
The scam is out in the open. The media pretends that the scam is not a scam. They are paid to pretend so they do.
Kudos Sundance! Not only did you accurately articulate the details behind the problems with Halperin’s perspectives in that interview, your reactions have corroborated my initial reactions.
I watched this yesterday evening and thought exactly what Sundance has described: this guy Halperin is still living in a DC time warp bubble despite a ton of very clear evidence since 2016 that fills in all the blanks Mark professes to not know, or evidence that clearly disputes views he seems to still hold despite the historical record. Yes Halperin is accurate about much of what he said but in his zeal to avoid any appearance of bias, he has foolishly ignored some critical truths.
His repeated complaint about Trump’s language and PDJT’s less-than-genteel characterizations of his political enemies is either long gone from, or was never included in any MAGA Deplorable’s very short list of complaints about PDJT.
Personally, I dismissed Tucker’s agreements and his seeming restraint from disagreements – with Halperin’s glaringly uninformed observations of Trump – as simply Tucker Carlson being a gracious host to someone he has known for a long time and probably once revered. I was admittedly a bit surprised and disappointed in Tucker’s reticence to call out Halperin on those points but I think Tucker was somewhat enjoying the 3 hour flashback to those halcyon days in the ignorant blissful bubble of DC elitist journalism…
Several times in previous interviews and monologues Tucker has openly discussed Pres. Trump’s derogatory remarks about his political enemies and found it not only justified and MILD in comparison to the violent language the DemoCraps and the Media sycophants have used against Pres. Trump, BUT ALSO Tucker has more than once noted that unabashed language to be yet another reason that voters like, respect, and connect with Pres. Trump.
Yes!
Tucker was so different in this interview from other recent ones that I wondered whether someone slipped him a bunch of Valium.
Tucker was a student of the great Rush Limbaugh , his talent for letting people go ahead and out themselves was subtle but effective. If someone wants to make a fool of themselves, get out of their way. Smart people will see what is really happening.
Or a severed horse’s head?
The nationwide preparations of the Dems to neuter and/or manipulate the legitimacy of the election vote tabulation and certification via state politics and lawfare are increasingly open discussion topics supported enthusiastically by a multitude of DS operatives, Dem politicos, the msm, never-Trumpers, and elected state officials determined to influence the election outcome in favor of their preferred candidate.
In every swing state, “election integrity” is an oxymoron, given lessons learned in 2020 and the largely unchanged state leadership cabal that accomplished the steal.
If PDJT appears to win, I anticipate the final certification of the election result will be delayed a minimum of weeks and possibly overturned. The 2020 experience provided convincing, empirical evidence that no election steal is too outrageous to be successful. Don’t pretend to think otherwise.
Does anyone know where this appears in the interview: ” With jaw-agape Carlson curiously asks where that money came from? Halprin replies, “I have no idea,” and they simply move along.” I can’t go the whole 2 hours…thanks so much!
Yes. Tucker asks the question at 1 hr 23 minutes. Halperin does not say “I don’t know” but Halperin’s answer IS essentially (though not in these exact words), “I don’t know” or “I haven’t bothered to investigate it.” (What a mealy-mouthed DC Bubble brush-off reply…that was,IMHO)
Per the timeline / topic list on Rumble, start at about 1:19 (see links beliw) and listen for about 6 or 7 minutes.
They are discussing Harris vs Trump vote advantage or disadvantage on a state by state basis for certain swing states and critical states….
1:18:58 Who’s Winning the Swing States?
1:19:54 Who’s Winning Nevada?
1:21:40 Who’s Winning Arizona?
1:25:55 Who’s Winning Georgia?
Kamala Harris raised a billion? That was transferred from Joe Biden’s campaign account, I thought.
Just watch(YouTube) Mark Halperin on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on election night 2016. A very visibly upset Never-Trump liberal who’s turned into a media wh*re with his now “moderate” views. BS!
Entitled jerks.
And yes, this is a worse Halperin than the silver-tongue gaslighting devil talking to Tucker.
He’s warning about TDS extremists who will become unhinged, break from reality and become violent? Dems have been catering and coddling mentally unstable people as a voting block. They are propagandizing people who should be supervised by, or housed in mental facilities. I have seen people have meltdowns in public and nobody knows how to properly handle them. Having counselors and psychiatrists in every workplace or school to “help” someone who is seriously ill, is not feasible.
Psychotic people need trained doctors and nurses who can assess the degree of their illness/delusions and bring them back to reality over time, in a controlled setting. (Ah, so there’s your new Rx goldmine with medical interventions for the disturbed.) No more putting them in normal schools, or regular jobs so they can disrupt and cause harm. As for violent anti fascist types, they are sociopathic killers and need to be dealt with accordingly, with highly trained law enforcement and some form of incarceration.
The propaganda is strong, however some people will adjust and figure out America first policies make sense. Those that cannot live responsibly will act out, either from their delusions, or they are paid disrupters. Yes,be compassionate to some, but assess every situation carefully, as things can go south very quickly.
So sorry. Compassion is ALL GONE!!
Without having watched, it’s interesting the point about th black vote getting out and making a difference is highlighted. My dad keeps saying the same thing about how he’s worried Trump won’t win because the black vote. I keep telling him to turn off fox news (his only “news” source) and forwarding him stories of all the lack of black support actually going on.
Nonetheless it makes me wonder if this one of the talking points being seeded in the minds. To me it supports SD’s points on the ballot vs vote issue we face and how they are manufacturing the storyline. As to Tucker, not sure what part he’s playing in all of this..
This helps one discover the how the selection happens: https://rumble.com/v4l49gx-let-my-people-go-by-dr.-david-clements-full-movie.html
David Clements is excellent!
I only made it through the first 7 minutes of the blah blah. When Halperin said he had no idea what Kamala stands for, or why she was running, it was a clear sign that he’s either lying, or he’s stupid. Or maybe both. Either way, I think further watching of the video would be injurious to my mental health.
And by the way-Tucker didn’t push back on that DEFCON 1 level of stupid lying. That speaks volumes about where he stands.
I’ve seen Tucker let others lie about PDJT and the “insurrection “and not stand up for the truth. I wonder if he does this to relax the guest into further showing true colors ? Tucker knows the truth…..
I think Tucker sat back and let him hang himself.
Which are the 17 AME Tabulation Counties?
They stole Brazil from balsonaro
Whatever belief I had in election integrity in this country was permanently destroyed in 2020. They went over the top making it impossible to miss. Biden had better turn out than the light bringer.
Mike Benz interviewed by Tucker Carlson where Benz fortunately does 99.9% of the talking. I rate it as one of the most revelatory interviews Tucker has ever done. Note the *** marked sections:

Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens [Princeton University, 2014]

Excerpts:
A great deal of empirical research speaks to the policy influence of one or another set of actors, but until recently it has not been possible to test these contrasting theoretical predictions against each other within a single statistical model. We report on an effort to do so, using a unique data set that includes measures of the key variables for 1,779 policy issues.
Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.
In the United States, our findings indicate, the majority does not rule—at least not in the causal sense of actually determining policy outcomes.
When a majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites or with organized interests, they generally lose. Moreover, because of the strong status quo bias built into the U.S. political system [that describes the overwhelming influence of The Blob – W], even when fairly large majorities of Americans favor policy change, they generally do not get it.
To be sure, this does not mean that ordinary citizens always lose out; they fairly often get the policies they favor, but only because those policies happen also to be preferred by the economically-elite citizens [and their Blob -W] who wield the actual influence.
Conrad Black thinks the end is near for the Obama/Biden American disaster. Harris is the final blow.
https://www.nysun.com/article/democrats-enter-panic-mode-as-harriss-faltering-candidacy-threatens-to-bring-down-the-obama-biden-era
“Mr. Obama appears to have been instrumental in pulling the rug from under Mr. Biden’s attempted reelection, once he was clearly headed for defeat, but was unable to get a last-minute open convention to seek the best candidate. He and Mr. Biden between them anointed Vice President Harris, as the hapless defender against an avenging Trump, and she is now likely to bring America safely to the end of the whole benighted, sinister, and misbegotten Obama-Biden interlude in American history.
The most fecund arsenal of dirty tricks in the history of the country has failed. Trying to represent Trump is an insurrectionist, on no evidence, showering him with spurious criminal indictments suitably amplified by the chronically partisan and morally bankrupt national political press, the completely false claim that the advocacy of American greatness is synonymous with fascist dictatorship: None of it has worked.”
Sounds good but we are realists: we have to wait until Nov 6th or possibly up to a week later or longer to know whether or not the ObamaNation is over or not.
I personally think Mr. Black is being overly optimistic but at the same time……it’s truly hard to imagine Pres. Trump is in this only to lose to another crooked election, especially given the evidence that both he and we have seen re. the 2020 fraud. That’s not the Donald Trump we all have come to know………..
Those who inform us about ballot counters vs voters are correct. Trump will get the most votes; Harris will get the most ballots.
The work Biden and Mayorkas and Milken have done for four years will not be wasted. We have been warned and for the most part have sat on our behinds and let it happen because we have gotten too soft and too comfortable, and are too willing to allow someone else to do the heavy lifting. And I believe there are people in positions of responsibility in every state who are supping from the same trough that are actively involved in keeping the status quo.
Obviously, I don’t know what will happen next. I don’t believe President Trump will behave like Nixon did against JFK and let it ride “for the good of the country.” President Trump has millions of active followers (I believe) and I also believe millions of silent followers. When they/we see more of our rights and our freedoms being taken away, will we still be too affluent to rise up, or will butt spread still be our favorite position.
I don’t even know how I will react. I have never been a reactionary, but our country has never been this close to being gone as it is now (I think). Proverbs 3:5 say trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. Psalms 23:4 says, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for Thou art with me.
Finally, my own studies have led me to believe/know that our eternal Father in Heaven does not want us to sit on our backsides and allow evil to take control of mankind!
The oval needs to be taken back to classic white walls and that horrible mundane wallpaper dispensed with. Winston’s bust put back in and George over the fireplace. Who is that small man sitting on the right of the picture?
I love this article. However, I would rather substitute “music” for the reference to “vinyl records.” I love analog, most especially records, and even more especially 78 RPM records. The real difference is “what’s in the groove!” There is much more information in a 78 RPM groove and a 33 and 1/3 groove. And the music that comes out of a 78 can be full, large and room filling! Rap isn’t music.
I also love the photo at the end of this article! I’m going to frame it!
in my opinion, another indicator that you know who is mostly an entertainer
or from the amount of times he hee haws, a jokester at heart
Halperin strikes me as a person who only cares for himself and his career, status and $$$.
Narcissistic, sociopathic.
Tucker tends to massage all his guests and tries to let them in on it that he really is on their side. More of a hooker than a contrarian or a warrior.
Where did the money come from? It came from thw laundry through Act Blue under constant small false attributions to thousands of unaware “small donors” who did not donate.
I think Liz Cheney and everyone on the J6 committee knew it was organized and implemented by Pelosi and the FBI. Liz Cheney should be in prison along with the others.
I’ve heard the name Mark Halperin before but his opinion means nothing to me.
This is the second time lately that Tucker is using his show to promote someone “lesser” and try to make them into someone “greater.”
The first of late was his interview with Darryl Cooper.
The bigger question is now brought to mind. Who is Tucker…really ? And, why is he doing this.
Why no J6 tape revelations.?He has seen them all. If he can’t discuss them because of something to do with Fox can’t he at least divulge that much?
Im not a paranoid person but I’m not going to lose my good judgment on any of these people.
Something is off with Tucker. Not 100% of the time but enough to make discerning minds open their brain cells to alert mode.
I was watching it and had to turn it off when Halperin mentioned J6 like it was real and President Trump created it.
Mark Halperin got caught up in the Me Too firings of well known professional men. He was then thrown off MSNBC and broke up with John Heilemann, his partner. He has been with Newsmax for years. It looks like he has his own podcast now, but he is still a Newsmax contributor. I think he softened up a bit because Newsmax was the only news organization that would hire him. He has been working with pro Trump people ever since. I think he realizes we are not all monsters.
Wolverines!!!!
👊👊🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is it possible to defeat the Clyburn operation? If not, how is Trump going to return to the White House?
According to Halperin, as far back as 2017 “everybody” in Washington D.C., knew Joe Biden was suffering cognitive decline. Tucker seemed to agree.
If true, why didn’t you tell us?
I think we know the answer to that question. Knowledge is Power. Our Rulers in Washington, having gathered all power into their hands, are determined to keep it, by any means necessary, including keeping us in the dark so they can more easily Gaslight and Brainwash us.
Tucker has said that Biden’s sister said in 2019/2020 that she didn’t want Joe to run because of his cognitive decline.
To me, as extensive as the shifting of elections from votes to ballots operation has been, THEY see as crucial the need to make the steal SEEM plausible.
Hence the whole “polls are tightening” attempt to make it SEEM close, as election approaches, and so make an actual Kamalla win SEEM plausible she could win.
So, once again, as ALWAYS the battle of perception, public perception is THE key battlefield, all else is chaff and countermeasures, its PERCEPTION and deception.
And in that arena, I think PDJT is kicking ass; hence we see;
the desperate attempts to encourage assasination.
obama and Joe yelling at each other at a funeral.
kamalla collapsing in an interview with cabbage patch.
the whole Dem machine taking a deeo breath, preparing to start primal screaming at the heavens.
WE are WINNING, it was ever thus and no, I am not tired of winning, not yet!
“Just weeks before a monumental election, leftists once again ramped up their efforts to ram through a rule in the Rules Committee of the Judicial Conference that would make the previously “advisory” guidance outright mandatory – caving to the demands of; among others, Chuck Schumer and the Biden DOJ.
The Judicial Conference purports to locate such authority in the Rules Enabling Act, the 1930s-era statute that authorizes the Judicial Conference to prescribe rules of civil and criminal procedure for the federal judiciary.”
Can Americans expect Congress to act with its ultimate power over judiciary to reject ANY rule promulgated by the Rules Enabling Act? Any dragging of feet by Congress should the Judicial Conference succeed in pushing through its single-judge division edict is the answer to
letting the Left’s fury at not consistently getting their own way in case outcomes. This pushing effort to undermine Judicial norms mirrors Elena Kagan’s desperate ludicrous call for lower federal courts to supervise the Supreme Court when it comes to recusal decisions.
