No effort of man can separate us from our spiritual core, unless we give that effort permission. We do not.
No crisis or temporary dislocation can defeat the sense of value and common purpose found in fellowship. Whether it is a hug, a handshake or a word messaged or spoken with genuine care. We are a great, kind and loving people of a great, kind and loving nation. There is much to be thankful for, especially you.
While many eyes see chaos that has enveloped some critical areas of our assembly, I see mustard seeds everywhere. I see growing unity, increased determination, visible support and a blend of kindness that exists in unfamiliar places; indeed, places many do not want us to identify.
Perhaps like me, you are not always the best messenger for unity. In fact, having had our virtues weaponized against us, the only thing that might remain is cynicism for anything touching the sphere of politics. However, I do have faith; buckets and buckets of it, just not in people.
We are currently living the reality of a “fundamental change” program, yet trying to get people to remember who made the fundamental change promise is akin to getting a vaccinated person to review myocarditis data. But there is hope; lots and lots of it. WATCH:

Over the last 3+ years, I have contained my hurt and anger with evil doings of the cockroaches in DC. My heart ached as I watched what took place during Hurricane Helene in western NC and eastern Tennessee. I am an animal lover and treat my two English labs as blessings in my life. When I saw that precious dog tied to a fence post on a Florida interstate with water up to his belly, I lost it. It all came barreling down, and I sobbed. I needed that release. This morning when I got up, I said to myself, “Suck it up, Buttercup.” I am back on my game and praying for the Lord to continue to grant me the strength to face this evil that surrounds us. Carry on, Patriots!

I am so grateful to Sundance and to all the Treepers here for all their comments. This is a place that has given me great hope, and helped me feel less isolated politically. It is so good to know there are so many of us conservatives who genuinely love this country and who want to do all in their power to make America great and fruitful again. This community is respectful of God, loving towards family and friends, and more or less tolerant of ideas that are not conservative. It is very difficult to be tolerant of other ideas because as @Michelle Maxwell said, we have been made to divide ourselves from each other and “they” then conquer. When we and the ideas and values we cherish are smeared as racist or hateful, it is very difficult to be tolerant of the ideas of people who cause us pain. But I’ve learned that God loves all people, not just the people we agree with!
So thank you Sundance for sharing so much of your hard earned knowledge with us, and thank you my fellow conservatives who comment here, for sharing your hopes and vision for the future with all of us.

There is something that cracks the matrix. For me, the fake lunar landing. Then you start looking around and you start to see the strings, everywhere, EVERYWHERE. 9/11, war after war, covid and vax, poison in our air, food, medicine. Destruction of currency, borders, genders. I could go on. Looking at leadership and thinking it is impossible to be this bad—the chaos is intentional. This is embittering. Then when you stop looking at the ghoulish leadership, and you start looking at all the good people we have as fellow countrymen, you realize we are blessed. We have some work to do on the ghouls, but there are many good deeds and good people to be thankful for—WE ARE NOT ALONE.

By the way, after reading about Blue Ridge Cowboy Church here on the Helene threads, and donating to them, I realized why I liked the name so much.
Our network of bluegrass pickers spread across New England and some of New York have the music in common – and one thing we all have in common is how many tunes we all routinely play with “Blue Ridge” in the title – could be as many as a dozen. And cowboy themes abound as well.
So I wrote up a description of the church as a suggested donation and sent it out to the whole email list (I think it’s somewhere between 100 and 150 players). Most of them are New Englandy lefties, of course. (But I do know a few quiet MAGAs and seem to turn up new ones every day.)
I guess that was a sort of mustard seed? 🙏🏻 it might take root with at least a few…

They got away with it last time. They’re not going to get away with it again. Heard today from a group that has made 3 trips into Helene country that locals are being told it could possibly be March before power is restored to their area. Roads are simply not safe enough for the big trucks that have to haul in the poles, transformers and line that must be replaced. Having to wait on the infrastructure may be partially dependent on the Department of Transportation and Pothole Pete may not have any clue what he and his department need to give to the Blue Ridge Mountain area for roads and bridges.
