Starlink has a roaming service for people in RVs, camping and on-the-go . It allows you to pause your service. So if Elon could create a ‘prepper’ service where we buy a RV size ‘base station’ and only activate it in an outage/emergency. Paying no monthly charge but then only usage once activated.
I would buy a service like that and I think would be easier than ham radio etc stuff.

Was driving south on I-95 in South Carolina and saw about 10 trucks loaded with supplies from God’s Pit Crew from Danville Va. They had a lot of generators on the trucks. I don’t know where they were going (maybe to Georgia) as I lost them when I pulled off to get gas.
