Good Monday, dear Jim 😘☕ I do, too, even as I suddenly realise that I am without being aware that I am, if that makes sense. And when I do realise, I am struck that while I am moving about and performing tasks, I am actually far way from where I am standing. And yes…that He would endure the horrors of His crucifixion for me, as if I were the only person on earth!! But for the whole world?? It should truly overwhelmingly humble anyone who thinks about it. What gratitude we owe to Him 🙏🏻

It reminds me of this essay by Naomi Wolf confronting a mystical experience she had many years ago.
Wolf was afraid to publicly discuss this experience, because she is Jewish, and did not think her experience would be understood as the revealation it was in her life. Then she almost died of sepsis last year.
She knew she was dying, and promised God in prayer, that if he spared her life, she would write of this experience and the understanding it gave her.

Love Naomi. She is often on RAV, especially War Room. Her metamorphosis has been a thing of beauty! I think she said she had married someone from special forces, and that had encouraged her to see things in a different light.
That’s a beautiful thought, Betsy, that we should always think of his sacrifice and suffering when talking to him. I have been thinkin more about what he went through, after reading about the newest discoveries about what the scientific tests tell us from the scholarly examination of all the evidence. I am still amazed and thrilled about the what Shroud of Turin tells us. Talent plus practice . . . lots and lots of 0ractice. Once you learn to find your “zone” the subsequent learning be enjoying. Its the initial getting there that is the real challenge.
Yeppirs. I studied guitar at the ripe young ages of 10 to 12, but grew impatient and switched from studying classical to playing rock… Then I switched from lead to bass guitar by the time I was 16, but my passion finally waned and life went on.. C’est la vie.
I do recall the finger exercises that got increasingly more difficult, yet I was able to perform them faster towards the end of my interest in classical style.
When I see an accomplished artist like Vera, I can only extrapolate my early limited experience and watch in amazement at her mastery of the complex fingering while keeping the tempo of the passage….
But hey, my fingers were never as slender and long as hers. My meat paws were better suited to less intricate tasks… 😎
Great story! I took my first and last guitar lessons around 8 maybe 9? and my fingers hurt so I switched to drums 😉
I can still play Mystery Train on guitar however. For like 45 minutes non-stop lol.

I just now happened upon your fabulous picture of bacon and eggs and I am inspired to have some again. Repeating what happened the last time I saw that plate ( no, it’s different somehow(?) of bacon and eggs. I wish it were easier for me to make bacon. Argh.
As consolation there is a working farm right across the highway here with a small shop filled with a LOT of things they grow, and pickle, and even fresh/frozen meat grown on their acreage. I go often go for my ration of bacon that they make every morning, and the woman will see me and say “extra crispy, right?” 🙂

Decades ago in another life, I house and child sat for a hand surgeon in San Antonio. Kris Kristofferson was this man’s college roommate. I remember him in the panned film “Heaven’s Gate”. Too long, the critics said. But I enjoyed it, and found Kris to be ideally cast in the gritty production of the old West.

My Dad had the Ray Price version when I was a kid, a personal fav. Didn’t know Kris wrote it.
Side note, Wille and Merle were both in Price’s backup band (if I remember correctly). Greens cover is great also.
Was a HUGE hit. probably a #1 but I was never a Ray Price fan even with what little of him I heard. But I do remember that on Country radio. Glad you hat tipped AL too! Good call.
My favorite version was the one I played on Al Green’s LP’s which I practically LIVED on as musical diet. I really got into Memphis R&B to keep my ears “fresh” given I was around so much of the LA “singer/songwriter and “country rock” milieu that really began in large part in L.A. at that time.
Actually Al Green was a bit later like 71/72 he had a cpl LP’s and by 73 his landmark LP “CALL ME” which many here will remember. It’s like a Top 50 LP on most anyone’s lists. I wore that ***t OUT 🙂

The Madden Julian Oscillation has moved into phases 2-3 that are favorable for hurricane formation. What that means in part is there is strong vertical velocity of the air over the Caribbean and the Gulf and that upward movement of the air is required for tropical storms to form and strengthen.
There is no doubt that Tonga has effected weather patterns. How could it not when megatons of water vapor were injected into the stratosphere? We have never seen that and to be quite frank nobody really seems to know just exactly how and how much it is effecting the weather patterns or how long.
I believe that Abyssal geothermal activity has been responsible for at least some of the ocean warming. Fact is though that ARGO buoy coverage is not even close to adequate and besides that they don’t go deep enough to provide the data that is needed. We know more about the surface of the moon and Mars than we do about the deep ocean. None of the governments are interested in investing in finding natural causes and extent of climate change and warming and cooling because to do so would run counter to their desired objectives of subjugation of the masses.

It takes heat to evaporate water
If some of that moisture rises, forms clouds, and rains out, the condensation and rain releases what’s known as the “latent heat of evaporation” – the heat it took to evaporate the seawater into the atmosphere originally (think of the steam coming off your pasta water … you’ve added heat via the stove burner and add enough and your water boils off water vapor as steam).
Ok, back to the Gulf … the seawater evaporating and later condensing and raining out and releasing heat … everyone in Florida knows the daily pattern of clouds building up all day and raining out late afternoon.
… so you’ve got a heat engine … add a little vorticity, from differences in atmospheric drag from rotation of the earth … and moist air masses can start to stir and swirl
The same processes form those cyclones coming off West Africa
But the Gulf of Mexico can be its own little engine as well

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

“Hitler’s Furies: German Women in the Nazi Killing Fields” by Wendy Lower.
This type of reading material is way out of my norm.
It was so disturbing, I could hardly finish it.
However, it came recommended, and I was curious about the topic.
Frankly, I had no idea that women were so heavily involved in the Holocaust.
I thought it was mostly the men who exercised such evil.
This historical account was an eye-opener, too.
It was a morally-lost generation of young women after WWI who were lured into this horrific event.
I remember the saying: Tho history doesn’t repeat itself, mankind does.
It’s entirely possible in our country, too.

Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Evening Prayer For Future Guidance
Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.
Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.
Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.
And so now Lord, I commit this night to you, asking that I would rest soundly and wake refreshed and strong to do Your bidding. This I ask in Jesus’ precious name,

Prayer Of Thanksgiving In The Evening
Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord
I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful nights sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Guard all those that I love and may we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in the days that lie ahead. This I ask in His precious name,

Citizens for Council for Health Freedom, is sounding the alarm against a new REAL ID action by the Biden administration via a proposed rule by the Transportation Security Administration. This is a “phased enforcement” of REAL ID, which is a push towards a “social credit system”.
The deadline for public comments is October 15. One or two sentences will suffice (e.g. REAL ID is unconstitutional. DHS has no power, authority or right to enforce it. REAL ID is a usurpation of states’ rights and individual rights.) Make your voice heard today and share this important message with your friends and family.
This Federal card that they claim is for security and freedom is actually intended to keep Americans under lock and key. DHS is already preparing to put it on phones as a mobile driver’s license (mDL) controlled remotely.
