In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for “Presidential Politics”. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the JoeBama Administration and Presidency.
“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”
“But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”
This thread will refresh daily and appear above the Open Discussion Thread.

Sanity check on NC.
When NC flipped for Obama, the telltale sign was a 1.6% shift in registrations toward Dems, 205,853 in net number.
Since then, NC has swung heavily toward Rs in registration. This is a 5 cycle trend out since 2004 on voter registration, which ALWAYS runs right of the Dem voter registration advantage

This is the start of a very long, very detailed tweet by Jack Straw who says this is RARE and something big is up.
“According to information found on X and various news sources, there has been a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) issued for Washington, D.C., closing off all airspace up to 99,000 feet until further notice. This kind of extensive closure is indeed described as unusual and worrisome by several posts and reports, indicating that while airspace restrictions over D.C. are not uncommon due to its status as the nation’s capital with critical government infrastructure, the scope of this particular restriction — covering all airspace up to such an altitude — is considered unprecedented or at least highly unusual.
The Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) and the Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ) around Washington, D.C., are well-established, post-

Too bad Jack Straw does not list the NOTAM.
I don’t see any TFR over DC https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr2/list.html
Thanks!
I was wondering why I hadn’t seen it discussed here, so it must be inaccurate …. good news!
