It usually is the last address you lived at, even if you own no property in that state, or haven’t lived there for years.
I can attest to your statement. I believe the term is your state of legal domicile. Been requesting an absentee ballot for the last 10 years by contacting the county of my last residence in making the request.
Ballot received, fill out properly, sign and mail back. Easy peasy.
If in the states for local elections I bring the absentee ballot to show that I have not submitted it and vote in person. All legal like.👍

I personally know of over twenty; None have ever been sent a ballot nor voted, however.
It is, but again then you have to pay taxes in the US, even if you have lived in foreign countries for a decade. It makes no difference if your income is a 100% foreign generated.
It becomes extremely complicated when your revenue is both US Gov, Foreign Gov, and Foreign private generated. Tax equalization comes into play too, It’s stressful and boring at the same time.
Like voting, you pay taxes because you are a US citizen, not because of where you live.

We’re watching Slow Horses on Apple TV. Gary Oldman has a role we just love, middle finger up to everybody with no pretense. Kristin Scott Thomas plays a role that makes me think of Hillary every step of the way. I won’t provide a spoiler alert in case you want to watch. Suffice it to say that I truly believe the story is modeled on the failed efforts of 5I IC to run the show particularly beginning with the 2015 spying on political opponents and covering up since then. Husband said he found too much was unbelievable; I retorted, did you ever think thousands of devices would explode in peoples’ pockets/hands/bags simultaneously?
We are fans of Slow Horses and were discussing that same point last night! Another series well worth a watch is “Condor” -adapted from the original Six Days of the Condor- brought into current times.
When I think of “Three Days of the Condor” (which I have watched many times over the years), it seems like the future, today, was already happening back then!
It was way ahead in dispelling confidence in our government as well as the press . . . back then, Joe Turner, the hero of the story – was going to venture across the street to the “New York Times” in full confidence that he could tell his story and it would be printed . . . he became a whistleblower and expected the story would be printed . . . why should there be any doubt? The movie came out not that many years after the Pentagon Papers story.
One part I really liked was when Turner actually had a conversation with his would-be assassin – an “Alsatian gentleman” – Joubert – played by Max von Sydow – suggested to Turner that he might consider going to Europe, he could get lost there, no one would bother him . . . but Turner replied in a heartfelt, kind of wistful way that he didn’t think he could do that, he always got homesick for America whenever he seemed to be away for too long.
The original Robert Redford / Faye Dunaway movie the Three Days of the Condor is really good as well. You can find it on Amazon Prime.

The premise is that MI6 agents who screw up badly are sent to Slough House, an offsite office, to do menial work under Gary Oldman’s character’s supervision. Unglamorous work like going through trash looking for clues. So they’re the “slow horses.” Every series they stumble into some case despite themselves and can’t help solving it without headquarters finding out they’re on the case. It’s really fun.
Gary Oldman’s character must be fun to play. He’s been assigned to be their supervisor. I assume at some point we’re going to find out what he did to get banished.
They speak British English, so you have to turn it up loud and you may have to watch an episode twice to understand what they’re saying.

If there is no truth with the capital T then surely your genitalia doesn’t define whether you’re male or female. It’s my feeling that defines whether I’m male or female. Surely there is no such thing as innate sex differences between men and women. That must be a social construction. So, it all originally flows from that framework that says up is down, left is right, who are you to say what is right or wrong and so that’s why I think there is no greater parasitic ideology than postmodernism.

For the past several years, Southern California skies were full of chemtrails, cross-hatching the skies.

I first noticed “chemtrails” ( or as John Brennan likes to call them at the CFR meetings “Strategic Aerosol Injections” ) in the late 90’s and into when they really began them in Los Angeles by the early “ought’s”.
I lived above on the highest mountainous street known as Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills and they would begin their “tic tac toe” laying of parallel and chris crossed lines that would over time dissipate to form diffuse white milky residue and cloud cover.
Now, being already accustomed to what clouds and skies have always looked like for the 40+ years I’d lived before this began, I knew immediately that there was something strange going on, and that any discussion about them to those that simply refused to “look up”! resulted invariably in calls of “conspiracy theorist” etc.
This even as people like the late Dick Gregory and “Prince” began to openly warn people of them publicly.
Well, their formulations have been improved over the ensuing years and they now appear and very quickly will “merge” with existing cloud cover and have been far harder to detect and identify as they occur.
Unless you see the planes laying down the trails and then suddenly the “contrail” of chemical – who knows all what ( but high levels of Strontium/Barium/Aluminum in massive ground soil analysis shows ) and then suddenly without changing course or seeming altitude, the trail emissions will simply stop!
I spend time in AZ in rural areas and trust me when I tell you they “spray”. Not like in major metro areas? But for sure, they do.
Why, in rural areas, other than to “dim the sunlight” and create a cloud cover that is chemically laden? I could not say.

“The United Nations” – (sorry, Eleanor …) – is very rapidly becoming irrelevant. It is utterly obvious that the institution is, first of all, “dominated and controlled by the United States.” But it is, I think, also(!) “an artifact of post-WW2 thinking about the future of international relationships.”
The architects of “the UN,” first of all, implicitly assumed that “its capitol” would be in New York City – and could (of course) be nowhere else. But they also envisioned “robust, militarily and industrially self-dependent” governments and economies, such as those that existed at that time. Also importantly: “The United States” still then adhered to “the Gold standard.”
All(!) of that is … gone.
Today, many thousands of people around the world who groomed their (comfortable …) careers around the fond notion of “the United Nations” are of course still doing so. But: “the United States™” – which was the linchpin of the entire idea – is now “trillions of dollars in debt,” and doesn’t appear to be concerned. Even though many nations (but, not all …) continue to practice the “UN ritual,” I sense that it is nearing the end of its course.
Of course, perhaps the actual, unspoken linchpin of “the UN [fantasy?]” was actually: gold. Or, to put it another way, “economic stability.” A somehow-trustworthy single nation who wouldn’t lose its head when everybody else on earth was doing so … (heh …)
The entire world willingly built “a global(!) economic transaction system.” Most recently, we called it: “SWIFT.” And it was based on (of course …) “the United States.” Until it simply couldn’t be. Anymore.
That “trust” now actually became a weapon. And the “trusted nation” became a hegemon. “With an eighth of a tank of gas.”
And I can just now put it to you this way: “If the shoes were on the other foot, what would you – as “a card-carrying ‘rational human being (or nation …),'” now believe that you were compelled to do? “These are the independent actions of a foreign nation [the USA], yet we are [unjustly, and frankly, grossly …] impacted by them.” What would(!) you finally do?

Hey Fellow Treepers! Hope everyone is doing well and staying peaceful and hydrated as we enter the final stage of saving our country.
I am not sure if this has been discussed, and it is a little off topic, but have any of you been watching The Chosen? For those who are literal Bible interpretationists, it may not be for you, but I have found it a tremendous source of comfort that has provided me with a greater relationship to Jesus than I feel I have had in a very long time. This has been extremely helpful to me, as the state of our country, and our world, gives me a lot of anxiety and depression (something I struggle with anyway.)
For those who don’t know, it follows the life of Jesus as he begins to reveal God’s plan through his teachings throughout Israel. It definitely does use some artistic license in “filling in the blanks” a bit, but I feel it aligns with the Truth of the message in the Gospels. It is very well written and acted, and the characters truly come to life. It helps me identify with Jesus’ apostles and disciples in a way I haven’t been able to in the past. It truly illustrates how these were all common people, much like us. They came from all walks of life, rich, poor, sinful, faithful, popular or outcasts, young and old, men and women. It also reminds me that God often chose imperfect people to carry his message and continue his mission to spread the Good News throughout the world. (Remind you of anyone we know?)
Anyway, if you are looking for something to watch that is inspiring and beautiful, I highly recommend it. The first season is on Netflix and I believe they are currently in the middle of the 3rd season? I think it is also streaming on the WB (believe it or not!)
Anyway, keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. We need Trump to save our country, but in the end, we need God to save our souls. God Bless you all!

He has some very good instruction on how to ramp UP the voting power for President Trump. not suprising, he is not as agile and QUIK on his feet to turn a pretentious and leading question into an opportunity. THAT IS TRUMPS’ DOMAIN. IT IS WHAT SETS HIM APART.

Son, the most powerful force of this war (Vietnam) was the ideas that were communicated…UNOFFICIALLY. We witnessed victories simply because the enemy was PLACED ON A DEFENSIVE STRATEGY BASED ON the communications that we sent their way…We had a smart plan and it worked out well to win the war…and also lessen the deaths of people on both sides, who would be likely paying attention to bad ideas. We won the war on good ideas that we focused on OUR PEOPLE and also to the enemy. We gave THEM the REASONS to de-escalate.
My father, you see, IS a great man. Valor is not even the best way to describe his duty to country. I would prefer to call it what it really is: righteous cause.
