Supreme Court faces major document leak, second since Dobbs draft opinion in 2022
Need to fire some clerks
For the second time in two years, a leak of an internal Supreme Court document has occurred, this time noting Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.’s communications with his colleagues.
The New York Times reported Sunday that it had obtained a Feb. 22 memo written by the chief justice to his eight colleagues about a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on the federal election interference case against former President Donald Trump.
Chief Justice Roberts called it “inadequate and poorly reasoned,” the Times reported.
“I think it likely that we will view the separation of powers differently,” he wrote, according to the newspaper.
It is the second leak of internal high court documents. In 2022, a draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization suggested that the justices were poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 ruling giving women a national right to abortion. That leak was the first in the high court’s 235-year history.
Weeks after the Dobbs leak, the court overturned Roe and returned jurisdiction over abortion to the states.
The high court has never identified the leaker after a weeks-long internal investigation. Court watchers said the leaker was probably a clerk. If true, that person has long left the court: Each justice gets four fresh clerks each term.
After an eight-month probe, the high court released a report saying the Supreme Court marshal’s team had analyzed forensic evidence and interviewed roughly 100 court employees.
“But the team has to date been unable to identify a person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence,” the January 2023 report read.
Josh Blackman, a professor at South Texas College of Law, wrote in a blog post on Sunday that the latest leak is even more damaging than the 2022 incident.

The article states that the Dobbs leak was the 1st in the 235 year existence of the US SupCt. This leak pertained to Robert’s disagreeing w/the DC appeals court re: DJT case.
A few commenters suggested (1) polygraphs for clerks and staff; (2) create memos in which key words are changed in various memos to see which justices’ staff/clerks are leaking sensitive SCOTUS communications. (3) threaten to fire all clerks for all justices the next time a leak occurs unless the leaker admits their crime… and refuse to give good recommendations to all these clerks. I disagree w/option 3. It’s not fair to all the good hard working and honest clerks… and staff.
Maybe it’s staff and not clerks?
One commenter noted that these leaks began when Justice Jackson joined the court. Now it’s 2 leaks. Could be just a coincidence… or not.

Your analysis leaves out SC Justices, themselves (beyond the KBJ notation). Are they not viable suspects?
If an entity were able to successfully extort/bribe a SC Justice, think of the damage that could be inflicted. Talk about a ‘threat to democracy’.

It shouldn’t be that difficult to figure out who the leaker is… but so far failure. Will Robert’s do anything? I don’t know. He may be/likely is compromised himself.

My take: ‘they’ know who the leaker is, just like ‘they’ know the owner of that mysterious baggie of WH cocaine.

I didn’t know that and it’s also not public knowledge. If it were, the WashTimes article would simply have said “Snook is the leaker.” And he may well be if married to McCord.
I must have missed that Sundance article. No doubt Roberts is compromised but not on everything.
And, logically:
1. The leftist justices, clerks and staff that voted against Dobbs– opposed overruling Roe–would be the ones to leak to the media. They would want the majority conservatives on the court to be threatened and harassed into NOT voting to overturn Roe.
2. Roberts voted to overturn Roe so why would he want the conservatives on the court to be threatened by leftist protesters … and Chuck Schumer, directly?
Still, there is no excuse that we don’t have the name of the leaker… and that it has happened again. This time it’s Roberts’ own private comments that were leaked… and his comments oppose the Appeals court decision and do seem to defend President Trump.

It also makes sense that CJ Roberts would not want it publically known that the 1st leak in the USSC in 235 years originated from his own office. He should have revealed the leaker Snook anyway. That would be the right thing to do. Maybe he didn’t bc McCord and others in the DS blackmailed him?

Actually in this blue state of MA, anyone can be a poll “observer” (that’s what the gummint calls it while citizens mostly call it “watcher”). No qualification needed for that. I think it’s similar to being in a SCIF. Not allowed to say anything to voters, though I think if you see anything not making sense, you can go to the election workers and mention it. I don’t think you can video or even make notes, but I need to check that.
MA early voting runs from October 19th until November 1st.
I’m working the local watering holes reminding guys to vote so someone doesn’t vote in their place! All they need is an MA state ID and an internet connection to register on-line by October 26th.

Being vaccinated against Covid sharply increased the risk heart attack patients would die or suffer heart failure after heart attacks, a new Spanish study shows.
Over a six-month period after their heart attacks, Covid vaccinated patients had nearly double the risk of unjabbed ones. The risk appeared concentrated in patients who were both vaccinated and had had Covid before their heart attacks.
The researchers examined outcomes from almost 1,000 heart attack patients from March 2020 through March 2023 in a Madrid hospital. They found vaccinated and previously infected patients had an over 50 percent higher risk of death or heart failure than unvaccinated people who had also been previously infected – and a 90 percent higher risk than those who were unvaccinated and previously uninfected.
The gap remained even after researchers adjusted for risk factors such as smoking, blood pressure and age.1 “The combination of vaccination and natural immunization against SARS-CoV2 may predispose to the development of severe heart failure,” they wrote. Most patients had received the mRNA jabs from Pfizer and Moderna.
