Good morning Bet! That’s the look that Kona has when someone is doing anything in the kitchen. Very focused and intent. As our oldest son said, she does the most polite begging. She has become a part of the pack and really likes it here. We’ve discovered that she likes cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers, and doesn’t like lettuce. Don’t ask how we know. 😁 But we need to find a way to get her to her mama in Washington state. She will be there indefinitely helping her sister. Now they are talking amputating her sister’s leg below the knee since the partial foot amputation didn’t stop the gangrene.
And in 10 days we are flying out to Eastern Europe so there’s that. ❤️😍
Oh no, beloved brother…. I have missed the unwelcome and worrying news about the amputation. Gangrene is nothing to mess about with, and I am so sorry, so sorry….I am sending prayers for all, including Kona. Washington…that’s a world away.
She sounds as if she is a good house guest…polite begging 😂. Just like the Mags. Even though I try to avoid looking at her I can feel her gaze boring right through me. Her ideal bill of fare does not include the veggie menu which appeals to Kona. Not that I’ve tried to experiment with cukes etc…I wouldn’t dare! The looks I know I’d get!!
Have I also missed the news of your impending trip? Is your mother going with you? I hope it’s not for reasons of necessity as your last one was. Just hoping it will be a journey to look forward to this time. 🙏🏻💕

Yesterday was grandparents chapel day at private Christian School so attended with my 8 yo grandson. His other grandparents showed up also so they had 8 total there including my other grandson along. Daughter attended when her first class, she teaches there, was over.
Can’t describe how glorious those 8 grands looked, none older than 9yo.
The speaker mentioned that in our county 50% of grade school children are being raised by their grandparents…..such a sad comment about our timed.

I’ve always loved them and their affectionate natures. Maybe it is knowing without consciously thinking about it that one carried Mary to that stable where our Lord was born …then years later another to his propitiating death. GK Chesterton is “The Donkey” always brings sudden and unexpected tears. Your Lordy was a lovely lad…I know you miss him still. Love you, Corny…💔😘

A wonderful song written by Hoyt Axton who also wrote “Joy To The World” another hit for 3 Dog Night. Hoyt sang that song in my living room as the family gathered, circa 1968 or so. I thought it was a nursery rhyme – – or something about a bullfrog!. Next thing I knew – It was a huge hit record. Hoyt was also terrific as the “dad” in the film “Gremlins”.

Mornin’ darlin’ Bet. Woke up early for a change. Think I’ll do some roofing work before it gets too hot. This is a virtually flat back roof with a parapet so it isn’t nearly as challenging as working on a sharply pitched roof. I met a good roofer-pro the other day who I’ll use for that kind of work. Little ‘Tink stayed in today. She got up when I came into the kitchen for my morning Bustelo . . . Good kitty. I think I need a dog. 🙂

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Our mailboxes for where we live are a few miles away – all in a huge block. There’s also a large cork board for people to leave messages.
We, and many other people leave extra produce, clothing, etc for folks. We have left furniture there and it is always snapped up. I do leave a note asking to take it for their own use, not to sell.

What a national treasure was Rockwell. There is a Norman Rockwell museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts- well worth the stop.

For something more clean and wholesome, here is a video (newest of the ones made by Joerg and Kirsten who are a German couple who reside in England ( in the county of Cheshire) and are Anglophiles.
If you remember the BBC series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and enjoyed it, as most people did, it was very popular, then you might enjoy this video ( about 30 mins) showing the area where the series was set, ‘the Yorkshire Dales.’
Kirsten watched the series as a child and loved it.
Since then there has been remake of the series. They are both good, but I think I prefer the original, (That often happens doesn’t it? ) and if you haven’t seen either series, you may be able to get a copy of the book upon which the series were based.
Or just sit back and look at a delightful corner of England where time seems to have stood still.
Here is movie you might enjoy, from 1952, With Edmund O’Brien and William Holden. I watched it last evening and enjoyed it. I much the older movies that actually have a story, and have skilful actors, than some the stuff made nowadays.
