According to Robert F Kennedy Jr, if he had accepted the position of Vice President to Donald Trump, the White House would have to place him under house arrest after approximately 3 days. Apparently, if RFK Jr is to be believed, he intends to defy any constraints or limits put on him by President Trump should he win the 2024 election.

Basically, the President has the tools to severely curtail the public activity of the Vice President. And, since the Vice President’s relationship to the President is unique and special, Trump might indeed think he needed to do so if their opinions were too far out of sync.
On the other hand, in just about any other role, public disagreements are not a big deal, and firing is easier. Who cares if the guy who Trump brought in specifically to gut and re-build the FDA disagrees with his position on Ukraine or taxes?

Retired Magistrate here: After President Trump gets elected he can place “deep throat” in some type of advisory position with regard to children’s health. Give the position an important sounding name to satisfy “deep throat’s” ego and then just ignore him.
I hope Kennedy gets a role in working with vaccines and that President Trump doesn’t ignore his recommendations, and that his role is expanded to reining in big pharmacy with their bad drugs (money making while harming health).
I also hope he gets a role in helping to improve our food and that he makes recommendations that are implemented for farming in general and for improving agricultural soil, which Kennedy said is key.
None of these things should be ignored. While I share concerns about Kennedy, we need all the help we can get and Kennedy is an expert in these areas.
President Trump needs others who can carry some of the burden, so I don’t want to give up on Kennedy until President Trump does.

There is obvious reason for concern that he is a prima donna. In addition, I can believe that he would make firearms a “children’s health issue.”

The key to the Trump-RFK alliance working is, and always has been, confining RFK’s role to specific areas in which he jibes with the values of Trump core base. He would make a terrible VP precisely because he has so many believes that run counter to fundamental Constitutional freedoms.
RFK deserves credit for seeing that he would not work out as Trump’s VP. One wonders what prompted Trump to offer it, aside from the obvious political calculation.
I have been critical of many of Trump’s first term appointments, so many of which turned bad. I think he got bad advice bad then, probably primarily from Judas Pence. But I’m not sure how much he’s progressed. I accept his VP current pick, but cannot like it.
I’ve yet to find credible data to justify a political calculation. I have a gut feeling that the number of voters RFK Jr will bring to President Trump in November that the President himself would not have otherwise earned on his own, is vastly overestimated.

Kennedy is only a problem if his support cannot help Trump overcome the steal. If that Democrat formula for “winning” an election is neutralized, then Kennedy can be managed, and will be. As the Supreme Court recently made clear, the President “is” the executive branch, not any derivative official inside the administration, no matter how important he thinks himself to be.

I have been suspicious of RFK Jr’s motives, mainly because he is still in the running as a splitter candidate! If he were sincere about supporting MAGA, then he shouldn’t have run against President Trump in the first place!
Same goes for Ramaswampy.
Here in this video I think he is just trying to reassure his democrat base that he has known Trump for a long time, and that he believes he will have a voice in the transition team.
His message certainly wasn’t aimed at MAGA Republicans. But I agree with him that there are “a-holes” who purposely start trouble on both sides of the UNiparty.

But he really does seem to care about his issues and I think he’d like his legacy to be that he succeeded in improving the health of our kids. It’s not perfect but if he helps Trump get elected and he works on cleaning up the FDA, etc then ok.

Well, I’m just not seeing the “glee” or even a degree of gloat. I just hear him referencing that the two who have indeed known each other many years as being “adults” relative to past professional as well as personal interactions. I don’t see POTUS holding some kind of grudge for RFK having been opposite POTUS in some old adverserial lawsuit.
I understand trepidation. I understand circumspection. But I still see a very talented guy who knows his way around the miasma of the swamp and is eager to assist. Yes assist, POTUS in clearing the decks for the next Trump administration.
I trust and of course defer to Sundance’ grasp and depth of the myriad machinations made possible by allowing RFK under the tent. But I still am erring on the side of throwing caution to the wind and supporting POTUS decision to afford RFK entree into the “inner circle”. POTUS knows more about this presumably, than anyone else.
I can only imagine the depth and seriousness of their meetings and discussions between them both. The decision by POTUS could not have been arrived at capriciously or on a whim.
We need all the genuine top tier help “we” ( HE!! ) can get.

As I sit right now. I have nothing to make me believe he does not support POTUS and the direction and goals that President Trump will advance. Could I be wrong and RFK Jr has the potential to be a GHW Bush to Ronald Reagan ( and I mean that in the most unflattering way possible )A Judas goat? Sure! But perhaps he wants to advance the #47 administration’s goals.
I can’t be certain of Kennedy’s motivations nor can anyone ( yet ) but I do believe that he and President Trump are on the same page, and regarding issues they are not? Kennedy has made clear there are certain issues upon which they disagree and I’m not sure those issues would be under Kennedy’s purview, if there are even any at all!.
I see no problem with that he is aligning now with POTUS and again – – I TRUST President Trump to not make the same mistakes vis a vis personnel and hiring for the inner sanctum. To say nothing of the Cabinet choices etc.
I’m not new to the world and I fully understand circumspection. But I see this ( RFK under POTUS ) as a potential game changer, and this is no longer a game.

When Trump was president and covid broke out, he ignored his instincts and got steamrolled by his weak advisors into developing a vaccine. He urgently needed then someone who thinks outside the box. Not to be.
The result of that was a vaccine which today is mistrusted and, to many, an ineffective killer.
JFK Jr. thinks outside the box and that, IMO, is a valuable viewpoint when sitting at table full of minds that want to go along to get along with the crowd.
