When I lived in New Mexico Our Lady of Guadalupe was a huge feast day. Where I lived there was pilgrimage and I participated in it one year. We walked along a former trail, which now has roads on it and the police stopped the traffic so we could cross. Then we walked up a small mountain on a narrow trail and many people do the whole pilgrimage bare-footed!!! And it is the desert and there are those goat head thorns…I don’t know how they did it.
When you get to the top people bring out the food from their packs and start cooking…tamales and burritos, etc and they are very generous as I just brought a sandwich and I was hungry. They cut off these yucca stalks so you can make a staff for going back down and people bring pictures and scarves to decorate them.
The Bishop also came and he held a mass. The point of the pilgrimage is t0 give thanks for answered prayers from the previous year.
Then you have to wait until sunset to walk back down. Thankfully not back down the narrow path but a road. And you go back to the start which was an Indian reservation and you take your staff and rap 3 times on this door and leave the staff and the Anglos all have to leave and the Indians do more.
The next day there is a huge feast with food and dancing and everyone is welcome. The dancers all wear what looks like Aztec clothing and all the dances tell a story. The only food I remember was we got a cup of hot chocolate and a shot of whiskey but there was food, too.
It was fantastic.

Las Cruces. There is an Indian Tribe right next to it; they are the sponsors of the pilgrimage and it starts and ends on their reservation.. It is the Piro-Manso-Tiwa tribe which is an unrecognized tribe.
They chose not to get officially recognized as a tribe by the US government because they already owned their own land. A member of their tribe married one of the first Mayors or something like that of Las Cruces and he gave the tribe their own land…going way back.

Yes there were weapons of mass destruction found. I was there and know. Hans Glick was running around looking in all the wrong places for the wrong things. The weapons were scattered about the country in small caches. When found the press mostly ignored them. Saddam did not need enough poison gas to kill all of Europe just enough to gas a village or small town. The manufacturing facilities were hidden in the gas plants and refineries. The equipment looks like any other piece of equipment there and can be used to make other products. The Iraqi Army came in to the plant and told the operators to go drink tea took over the control room put the right code in the DCS and cranked up the unit and made the nerve gas they needed and then shut it down, reset the DCS and the operators would come back. Twenty-four hours later the best sniffers in the world could not find any trace of nerve gas. The operators and plant management officially did not anything about it and made it a point to know as little as possible.
When the Israelis blew up Saddam ‘s nuclear facilities he was within 1 year of starting production of tactical nukes he could have placed on Scud missiles. After that he scattered his nuclear facilities about the country and put the centrifuges in trucks. That was all the trucks that went to Syria just before the 2nd Gulf war started. Before the US military pulled out they took Saddam’s cache of weapons grade uranium out of the country.

No, but I did see snuff films Saddam’s his sons made to show their dad after they tortured political opposition. In these films they bound them up and threw them off what looked like about a three story building and then after they hit the ground they went down stomped and kicked them, twisted broken limbs, bent back fingers till they broke off and bent their broken backs while they screamed, cried and begged for them to stop and just kill them. This was one of the milder films. There were other films that were far far worse.. These films were seized from Saddam’s and his son’s personal collections and were being cataloged for their war crimes trials. I also saw pictures of dead men, women and children in village markets he had gassed during reprisal raids. Saddam documented all of his actoricies well.
Saddam was captured by the Allies hiding in a underground bunker on a farm. He was tried by an Iraqi court and then convicted and hung. He did not die well. His sons, two very evil Psychopaths were cornered in a house by American Forces and chose to fight to the death, which was a good thing because their trip to hell was expedited. Their bodies were dragged out of the demolished house and positively identified.
I know this account does not have the sarcasm and wit that of your childish rant about bayonets, WWI and wood chipping machines has but I try and make up for it makes up for it with reality.

TLDR for below — polls are unscientific garbage, and the only useful thing that can be gotten from them is they are trending Trump’s direction.
Polling is a pseudo-science based on statistical sampling. Statistical sampling is meaningful when you can take a legitimate random representative sample — like on a production line. It means nothing when the subjects are self-selecting as they are in polls.
Once upon a time, Americans were pretty easy to reach by home phone at night and pretty equally willing to participate by political affiliation. Neither of those situations currently exist.
In order to attempt to make their polls meaningful, the pollsters then “weight” the results pretty much any way they want to. If I want my poll to favor D I weight in favor of D, if R then weight in favor of R. If I want to be honest I take my best shot at weighting correctly. But no one really knows anything. It’s not science. It’s guessing with a micrometer thick veneer of pseudo-science lipstick on the pig.
It’s exactly the same trick as climate modelling and global temperatures, and it means nothing. The only useful thing you can get from the polls is to watch which way they are trending because each pollster normally doesn’t change their fudging in mid-stream. Currently the polls are trending towards Trump.

…In a blistering dissent, Michigan Supreme Court Justices David Viviano and Brian Zahra argued the decision will seek only to harden distrust in the electoral system by forcing voters to have to consider a candidate who is unwilling to serve if elected….
“The ballots printed as a result of the Court’s decision will have the potential to confuse the voters, distort their choices, and pervert the true popular will and affect the outcome of the election,” they wrote. “In short, the Court’s ruling will do nothing to rebuild the public’s trust in the fairness and accuracy of our elections.”
