A few years back I had similar concerns about Senator Cotton. Another man asked me, who else in the US Senate are you supposed to trust?
In this video, Senator Cotton did an excellent job of what is known in debate as Rebuttal. I agree 100% that we are at such an significant historical inflection point, each time any of us hears something untrue, we should wait only briefly, and interrupt if needed, with our own rebuttals.
For anyone to tell us a lie to our face, and to continue to keep talking without, permitting us to rebut the lie, is poor debate form. The debate toolbox then permits Senator Cotton to make use of stronger verbal tools.
There is no need at this point to spend more than a few seconds listening to known lies, and today I learned from watching Senator Cotton how to improve my own rebuttals. Notice how he maintained a poker face the whole time – this is critical. I know that I’m prone to letting my emotions kick in, but look at how Senator Cotton did not, nor did he let up in the pressure, nor did he offer gentlemanly deference to a woman. None.
Senator Cotton’s haircut was fresh, his clothes were neat, and his face looked clear and healthy. I can learn from that too.
Senator Cotton has earned authority. In contrast, no respect should be offered for unearned authority – none. Sometimes the best thing we can do to any unearned authority is to ridicule consistently, and in a tasteful manner, preferably using their own words or messaging against them. That is the essence of excellent rebuttal.
Senator Cotton repeated multiple times that the 13 deaths belong to folly and negligence of Biden / Harris. He got that message and those words in, enough times and with no pauses, that it was probably irritating the host that she could not escape her own trap.
She didn’t ask a single pleasant question, and the final comment lacked sincerity because she didn’t offer him more time. Instead she could have given him 15 seconds to say something positive about Labor Day. It’s a Federal Holiday, he’s a US Senator, and she’s nothing, really, she’s nothing. I would have liked to hear what he had to say about Labor Day.
Moreover, I trust Senator Tom Cotton not to tell lies.

He went to Harvard, THEN joined the military. If that tells you anything. There was controversy about him being a Ranger, he got the tab but didn’t serve w/the 75th when in Iraq. He is a lawyer.
There is nothing suspicious about going to college, any college, and then going into the military.
Most do that thru ROTC. I Cotton’s case, he enlisted and then went to OCS. IMO, his route was more admirable. Enlisted personnel generally respect OCS graduates moreso than other officers for having been enlisted prior to commissioning.
Both are pretty common routes. Nothing shady nor mysterious.
The only controversy concerning his Ranger tab was Salon making up and Snopes backing a claim that he ‘served’ in the 75th.
Cotton and staff made it clear when asked that Cotton earned a Ranger tab and served in the 101st.
It is very common in the Army for officers to attend Ranger school for “leadership” development without serving in the 75th, not so much for enlisted.
So this could explain how Alexander “Pirogy Boy” Vindman sports a “Ranger” tab on his dress uniform.
What is it about Harvard. Seriously do they have IC imbedded there recruiting agents? Welker a Harvard alum like Cotton. And Welker half black like Obama.

I am so tired of my country being tied up in these affairs. I support the Jewish people, for all of the horrific things they have been through for 2000 years just trying to continue existing. My last day in Germany (two days ago) I went to a concentration camp. Something I have always meant to do and finally did. It was a very rare example of one, a satellite camp of Buchenwald that was basically left intact as it was underground. It was horrific what these people had to live in. I walked those tunnels and saw the leavings of it. I saw what evil is there.
But I am not willing anymore to give up the blood and treasure of my country for Middle Eastern politics. I know Hamas and Hezbollah are evil, by their own actions. But I also have no reason to not expect the same from the government of Israel. Or Ukraine. Or Russia. Or Iran. I’m tired of all of them. I want nothing to do with any of them any more.
We are facing serious crises here in our own country. Our borders are being overrun by the ENTIRE WORLD right now. Our economy is staggering under the weight while our currency, which happens to be the backbone currency of the planet, is starting to buckle. And I am being asked, as a veteran of “the war on terror” to give a flying fig about the Middle East? AGAIN?
No. Stop it. I don’t care anymore. I’m done. And yeah, a lot of my coworkers, also veterans, don’t care either anymore. We want our own country as the focus now. Our own people are hurting. I wish the Israelis the best, but it’s not our problem. We have plenty to worry about on our own.
