The key point about Tim Walz history of lying about his military combat service and service in general, is to remember the people who constructed the Harris campaign genuinely don’t view Walz’s lies as a problem. If anything, the background lies make Walz more vulnerable to their control, which ultimately makes him a better candidate.
That said, for the public face of the issue, the Harris campaign (that’s Brian Fallon), seems to indicate somthing akin to a political apology from the principal (Harris) on behalf of her underling (Walz).
I’m not exactly sure if Fallon is intending this to make things better, or just make the goofy leftists in his tribe feel better.

As the ‘domestic’ military, I’m often amazed to see NG soldiers without weapons and, if they have weapons, the weapons have no ammunition loaded. I saw this recently in D.C. when NG units were blocking streets and not only did they not have weapons the Hummers were denuded of M2’s. Nothing. Almost as for show.
Heck, when I’d get searched at the gates in Singapore, the guards had submachine guns with magazines in them. In an airport. Same with Russia, Africa and a number of other places I’ve been to. Africa especially.

ARNG has both state and federal roles. When activated for title 10, like deployment to OIF, they follow active army rules.
I think its pretty clear Walz had ambition to get into politics; no doubt he had some money/power behind him for Congress and being deployed wouldn’t help that ambition so he put in his papers. Thing is, don’t know how ARNG works but I would think promotion to CSM would require something like a 2 year commitment. Even if no legal commitment I think you would have duty to help your unit as CSM who would be important in getting his Bn ready for deployment.
That said, unlike regular Army where people come and go every few years in ARNG you are going to be among the same folks most of your career, especially as you get more senior so politics plays a role in promotions (and the top guy, state adjutant general, is appointed by the gov). So always need to be cautious when others in the unit are complaining. Don’t know if regular army tries to move new CSMs, but I think it’s like going from “Hey, Joe how you doin’?” to “Yes, sergeant major”.

Thanks to the internet, those of us who were interested watched it live and listened to police and fire chatter. It was a war zone and, further, we saw, heard and read about police, while fleeing the Communist mercenaries, had time to arrest patriots, or just regular folks, defending their businesses.

After they process they send a confirmation several weeks later that allows you to fill out a form and send it in to retract your registration.
No chance of fraud there, right? Walz gets away with all this because Minneapolis/St Paul, Duluth, and Rochester democrats outnumber out-state republicans. They even lie about their name, DFL, democratic farmer labor. Sounds so warm and fuzzy don’t it? But they are NOT. Years ago, I was asked by my supervisor what I knew about a previous employee who had left the office but was interviewing to come back to an open position. My supervisor was a big Republican who hailed from DC.
I told him that the employee had during his previous employment hit up at least two employees for money promising to pay back ($75-$100) each time but had failed to pay the people back. They were still angry because we weren’t paid that much.
I also told him that the prospective employee used to disappear for several hours in the middle of the workday. He was a gay man and people thought he was having afternoon affairs. After he left our office he went to another government office where he followed the same pattern of disappearing. We understood he was terminated for that reason.
To my surprise, the supervisor hired this employee again. After a brief period of time, he even made him a supervisor and manager. DC rules.
We shall know that the game’s afoot when Walz’s team starts apologizing for Cameltoes having spent so much of her career on her knees.
