Are any of you big Vance fans? I don’t dislike the guy but I’m just not feeling him. He had better be loyal to Trump, that’s all I require of the VP really. I don’t want him trying to steal the spotlight for his own future political plans.
I like him but agree that his nomination acceptance speech is not really knocking the top off.
I think tonight his job is to introduce himself and be likable.

the addition of Vance ensures some good things prior to their stab of everyone.
Proof is if the type of comapnies they have and invest in can self sustain a country by themselves.
I don’t think he’s had much experience speaking befores a large audience, but someone reputedly so highly intelligent and multifaceted as he, will undoubtedly catch on quick.
He campaigned for the Senate in Ohio in front of large audiences and HUGE audiences at Trump rallies.
Yeah, seemed a little too much like a typical politician’s speech and manner of delivery. What I enjoyed most was seeing his mom. She looked like a normal, everyday type of lady… like one runs into at the store or at church… no pretenses…. If anything about that speech sold me, it was the mom. I loved hearing the crowd start chanting, “JD’s Mom! JD’s Mom!”

He has a young family which will bring a different perspective, I find it refreshing after 4 years of the questionable Biden family and a childless Kamala. His youth will help attract younger voters which the republicans need.
He brings connections to tech and tech money. He also now (as opposed to when he previously criticized President Trump) brings support for President Trump and MAGA. He is able to articulate that support, which many others can’t. Is he genuine MAGA as opposed to having other ideas for how to fix problems? That’s the question.
IMHO? PA, MI, WI, OH, MN. The gutted Rust Belt, full of angry/despondent white men who helped build this country and whose crushed feelings have been building up for decades. I think it was a brilliant move on Trump’s part. These states are in play and are hosts to lots of skullduggery in the election fraud dept.
I think and pray it will work. I also believe Trump is up to handling the job if and when wandering eyes betray tainted hidden long-range goals.

Im glad I heard him speak tonight it eliminated my distrust and I see he’s just a regular human like me since he made the same kind of mistake as me. Rupert Murdoch, who worked as hard as anyone to talk Trump out of picking Vance, is sitting in a suite at the convention arena watching Vance’s speech. Sitting next to Murdoch in the suite is Lindsey Graham, who also tried to talk Trump out of choosing Vance.

We’re watching Vance and I’m not feeling it. Was hopeful, but he didn’t address his hateful rhetoric in 2016. I really felt he needed to do that. Am actually very concerned . I was looking forward to his speech, but to me it was a disappointment

I was so hoping he would say something about his prior stance about President Trump also and say he misjudged him. Then look over towards him and say I’m sorry Mr. President. That alone would have gone a long way to ease a lot of fears about his loyalty and maybe help sway undecided voters.
Ok, this was my good faith attempt to be open to Vance. My gut prevailed. I cannot support this disastrous pick for VP. Donalds would have been inspiring and would campaign circles around Vance. He would have brought in minorities. It would have opened up 2028 to the right guy. Vance is extremely canned and unconvincing.

Donalds was not my guy, although I like him a lot. However, there is much more warmth and ease between him and Trump, than JD and Trump.
Frankly, I’m not bothered by the choice of Vance as some of you are. Trump is only going to be in for one term. I doubt Vance would be able to sabotage him in that time. I’m keeping an open mind about 2028.

Many who are skeptical of Vance also had reservations about Donald Trump in 2016. He turned out to be another Ronald Reagan and then some instead of a 21st Century Nelson Rockefeller as many feared he would be considering he was a liberal Democrat in the past.
I’m gonna hold judgement on Vance for now to see if his conversion to MAGA is genuine or if he’s another NeverTrumper in disguise.

Retired Magistrate here: Vance has been an excellent Senator for us here in Ohio. Yes, he was a little nervous at first, but as he continued he calmed down and spoke to the forgotten men and women of Middle America. Is he a polished speaker, no, but that doesn’t bother me at all. A lot of those “polished speakers” have sold the U.S. down the river.
Vance did accomplish the American dream and that will mean a lot to young people who are growing up poor and don’t see any hope for the future. I watched the crowd as Vance spoke; cold at first and then as Vance went on they warmed up and at the end I think they could see why President Trump picked him.
As far as his wife being an Indian, so what. They obviously love each other and she will be a supporting, intelligent partner for him. I think Vance will be a real asset for President Trump.
I agree with you. Too many people find all those smooth talking corrupt compromised politicians and mass media celebrities to be trustworthy and competent because of their suave manners.

He worked his way up by his own bootstraps, as the saying goes and really, no one is going to be in the same league as President Trump and also get the sense that he will be just fine as a Vice President.
I will keep in mind Sundance’s prediction that in about 3 years or so there will be the proverbial disagreement on policy between Pres. Trump and a VP Vance, but that will be for another day. First they have to get into office.

No, PDJT spent Sunday on the phone with basically everyone lining up each one’s arguments for the VP pick they were backing. It seems that the decision was swayed by identifying everyone against Vance being those President Trump sees as flaky in their backing of him and Trumpism.
