The eyewitness describes watching the shooter carry a long rifle onto a barn roof. The eyewitness alerted police; no immediate action was taken. The eyewitness grew frustrated with police and secret service. The eyewitness saw the gunman prepare in position for 2 to 3 minutes before shooting 5 shots at President Donald Trump. The eyewitness saw law enforcement then engage and kill the shooter.

IMO, the Secret Service, in particular & Any assisting LEO, should have done due diligence prior to the event in order to protect their assigned person completely & without error to prevent incidents as happened today.

This is the second person interviewed I watched tonight that saw the assassin getting into position. A local PA reporter interviewed a middle age man who also reported to police that the shooter was moving to, and then climbing on top of the building he took position on.
Something is patently wrong here. How did he get to that position, observed by several civilians that alerted armed authorities who did not prevent him from killing one, wounding other citizens, and nearly killing the President?
Why wasn’t the perimeter with all shooting lanes identified and covered days in advance and then occupied well before the rally began?
Why weren’t Secret Service agents or other law enforcement stationed on rooftops? They typically are for motorcades and political rallies.
Whether anything is done about it remains to be seen. I won’t speculate at this point as to motive, single bad actor or something more nefarious. The President is fortunate to be alive. This was not a long distance shot based on my observation of the building and the stands/ podium. My heart goes out to the families of the person whose life was taken and those wounded. I pray for full recoveries for all those wounded.
DHS has consistently refused to furnish RFK with security. Our former President needs considerably more officers / agents that are proactive and not asleep at the switch when informed that a man with a rifle is climbing a building preparing to kill; but I state the obvious.
