I hope the place is mobbed with President Trump supporters. But, I won’t be surprised if it is cancelled moments before President Trumps arrival due to reports there would be trouble just like in 2016 at the UIC Pavillion where I was in the crowd 20 ft. From the stage.
To enter the UIC Pavillion in 2016 for President Trumps appearance we had to go through metal detectors like in the airport and present our tickets. Looked like there was Secret Service present.
Standing out side waiting for the doors to open and entering was very friendly and orderly.
The venue was full of people of all ages and ethnicities.
As I mentioned I found a spot in front of the stage about an hr. President Trumps expected arrival.
As we waited someone in the area I was standing suggested an eye be kept on a group of about five standing immediately behind me.
As the anticipation built for President Trumps arrival a man came to the podium on the stage and announced President Trump would not be making an appearance at the venue.
The attendees stood in silence and then expressed disappointment.
At that point the group behind me pulled off their shirts revealing vulgar anti-Trump slogans & unfurled signs.
My spidey sense told me to take the fastest way out of there (I was looking after my elderly mother & special needs brother who were at their respective homes).
To my right I saw a stairway going up the seating levels and I crossed the floor and made a be-line up the stairs. When I turned around to look back at the floor I saw a scruffy looking guy running across stage to the microphone. Just as he got there a couple of guys pulled him away. Then I saw pockets of animated and agitated groups demonstrating kinetic behavior at Trump supporters. There was an especially large group of agitators in the Southwest floor; adjacent seating quadrant of the pavilion.
There was VERY little local security personnel that I could see and I immediately went to the closest building exit I could find which happened to be in the area I entered.
As I exited there was a large group of anti-Trump people yelling slurs. One SEIU thug looking guy was coming toward me on the other side of a couple of sections of barricade snarling and swearing at me. One Chicago cop leaning against a section of barrier in front of a group of people behind him and behind the barrier.
I took a quick left turn and hauled ass out of there pulling my Trump hat off and putting it under my shirt.
Unarmed, I never felt so naked. I’d taken the bus down there and was looking for a CTA stop to get the hell out of there.
The Soros, Coomer and likely Epps USG rent-a-mobs were keying cars and obstructing traffic. I say that now because I saw it and after what has transpired since then there is no other logical explanation why there were virtually zero arrests.
That venue was one major Kerfuffle away from a full blown major riot.
The security and police presence was totally in adequate.
I would like nothing more than to see huge pro President Trump crowds in Filthadelphia & Chiraq, but the squeeze isn’t worth the juice.
