We consistently hear people say something akin to “they can’t replace Joe Biden.” It’s a little odd, because I’m really not sure where that level of understanding DC comes from.
Replacing Joe Biden on the ballot before or after the November 2024 election is as simple as one typed sentence from his doctor saying he is not capable of fulfilling another term. Not complicated. Very simple. Can happen at any time. The DNC corporation appoints a replacement, the leftists rally sympathy around him, and Biden is escorted away for a life of indulgences and free stuff. Easy peasy.

Some or many states require by law that political parties nominate a candidate before they can be put on ballot. They must have some kind of convention where all the states delegates vote for the nominee.

Trump has yet to be sentenced, that takes place July 11th. All bets are off, nothing is really off limits.

It’s not that they can’t replace Joe Biden. It’s that it makes more sense to keep Biden on the ticket than it does to replace him.
The advantage of a Biden/Harris ticket for the Democrats is that — just like in 2020 — MAGA Republicans can be lulled into a false sense of confidence that an apparently weak Democrat ticket can be easily defeated.
The millions of people who make up the true blue Democratic Party base don’t care one whit what condition Joe Biden is in. The Biden presidency and the people who run it are giving them everything they want, and more.
