When I first heard of this, I thought it was a stupid spoof. It is not. It is real.
Keep in mind, in order for this to be in the print version of the Senate bill, the Senate Armed Services Committee had to vote to approve it. Repeat that sentence if needed. The Senate Armed Service Committee, meaning every member on that committee, had to support the change to make women register for the draft.
Look at the GOP MEMBERS OF THE SENATE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE HERE – Rob Wicker (Mississippi), Deb Fischer (Nebraska), Tom Cotton (Arkansas), Mike Rounds (South Dakota), Jodi Ernst (Iowa), Dan Sullivan (Alaska), Kevin Cramer (North Dakota), Rick Scott (Florida), Tommy Tuberville (Alabama), Markwayne Mullin (Oklahoma), Ted Budd (North Carolina) and Eric Schmitt (Missouri) are all members of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Why should we steal two years from our young American men and women in the prime of their youth while the illegals get to stay home, raise families, and build a career? Even if it’s just for “training” and they see no combat, it still puts them at a disadvantage.
My Mom said that while our beautiful young people are off to some Manufactured War, these invaders will be getting any and all good jobs and will be well set by the time each wave of survivors returns.

Looking at this from a slightly different angle here. If the government does not allow these “non immigrant” (read: illegal) aliens into the draft then what they are doing is acknowledging the illegal status of these criminals, and so by default acknowledging the need to deport those criminals. Probably not going to happen, but at least the government has proven our point, that these illegals don’t belong in this country and need to go.
Or globalists can stick to their original narrative: That there are too few able-bodied Americans to sustain this country going forward, so they simply must import new workers.

JWoo, both my daughter and her ex husband served. She had 2 babies while on active duty. If she and hubs both came up on immediate deployment orders the kids would go to a designated local person until I could get from California to Texas to collected them within 48 hours. Both my ex and I would become the legal guardians for our very small grandchildren. It probably still works like that.
I don’t know the rules for single pregnant military women. It used to be that the woman had to sign over dependency and custody of the baby/child to someone else to stay active duty. When I was active duty 1000 years ago pregnancy meant automatic discharge.
I’m praying that the paragraph will be struck during the Senate floor vote or when the House and Senate reconciles their resolutions.
I hold out no hope of changing my congressmen’s minds as both Senator and Representative are the ranking members of their respective armed services committees.

In the 70’s and 80’s my DH was in 35th Engineer Battalion at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. He and buddies built bridges and roads during their summer camps. Then they started bringing in females and guys did all the work, women did none. Eventually guys tired of it and they almost all got out after around 15 years. I wonder how many bridges and roads the lazy ladies built after they left.

Not sure why this comes as such a big surprise. During WW2, more than 800,000 women served in the Soviet army, and over half were in front-line units. Universal conscription is the logical outcome of the Left’s long institutional march to erase the differences between men and women. The decline in recruitment numbers merely served to open the door.
It is, however, political suicide. I’m old enough to remember Chicago in ’68.
Good. It’s about damn time. I’ve heard this “equality” crap my whole life, but women only want equality for certain things at certain times. Other times, they’re frail victims, when they want to be. Can’t have it both ways.
Many other countries have compulsory service and it includes women. Ever hear of Wonder Woman? The actress Gal Gadot was a soldier in the Israeli Military…and they ain’t pretend soldiers.
Come on American girls, man up. And I’m surprised at the whiney comments in this thread from the men. We have women in the military now. No more special privileges for women (real or transvestite).
