Thomas Sowell talked about how in the 20s 30s Harlem, and other black communities, WERE SAFE places to live. He never heard gunshots. He wasnt afraid to walk the streets as a kid. Most black families were 2 parent families. 2-parent Black families today do very well financially.

It is verifiable (there’s that pesky word again) that the Tea Party was organic and, after the corrupt GOP RINO Establishment repeatedly denied them access to run for office in many states, its survivors formed Trump’s base. Democrat politicians, pundits, entertainers, academics, and influencers at al levels have for 40+ years accused ALL politicians, supporters and voters of being racists if any of those people do NOT fully endorse the radical anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Constitution values and policies that the Left promote and push continuously.

You’re correct, and I suspect it’s more. I would not be surprised (based on some Democrat pundit comments) that Democrats have internal polling putting blacks for Trump/MAGA in the high 20’s – low 30’s percent range. Big driving force for the Uniparty’s open border policies. That voting demographic needs to be replaced – and American blacks have figured it out.

I daresay that a significant number of voters who voted for Rubio and Cruz do NOT approve of those two politician’s demonstrated opposition to Pres. Trump / MAGA policies, and have ONLY voted for Rubio / Cruz in the absence of effective opponents and/or challengers.

Perhaps you missed the story, the usual suspect decepticons, Romney, Graham, etc. had a presser in which they said that if Trump wins, they will switch parties.
So, if they hold to this pledge, there is NO WAY the Senate stays Republican majority.
As for the House, with its “fragile” 1-2 seat R majority,….we all watched as Paul Ryan intentionally threw away a 40 seat majority, to intentionally gift the House TO the Dems, so that they could initiate Impeachment proceedures against him, and the R’S could put on a show of resisting.
And we have seen McCarthy/Johnson similarly bring it down to 1-2 seats, just as intentionally.

I don’t think I have posted the sentiment here but I have been saying the same thing to just about every MAGA person I speak to. President Trump needs a VP who far and away more odious to them than he is.

Black Knight did the same thing to me the other day — accused me of being in denial and other things because I made one specific point and didn’t discuss the big picture. For some reason he seems to want to attack based on his interpretation of what someone said. For example, instead of accusing you of promoting racism, he could have asked if you meant “for decades” the dems gave done this and now they are doing it to MAGA.
I’m happy to see you sticking up for your point instead folding when being accused of something you didn’t do. I told Black Knight he could benefit from reading more clearly. Wish he would have done that with your comment and if he was in doubt, ask you.

If Black Knight thought the poster was saying a certain thing, he could have asked if that is what she meant. He didn’t ask because he used his interpretation to make a point he wanted to make.
He did a similar thing to me the other day — misinterpreted what I said and then attacked me based on his misinterpretation.

The Dems imply that it’s the SOUTH that is racist, not the Dem party that promoted slavery, discrimination and Jim Crow.
I just think we have an opportunity with Trump to right that wrong… to change that misconception.

It’s all BS IMO. The racism issue is just a marketing strategy to get votes from the blacks and it has worked really well for the Democrats. That marketing strategy along with all the other Identity Politics they sell works well for them. That’s not to say there are not some real racist among us, but I would imagine in the low single digit percentage.
I grew up when there was real racism and segregation., but I truly believe most people have evolved such that is not a real issue. There, of course, are still some hateful morons out there, but very few. That’s my belief anyway.
An example I’ve thought about is football. I went to college where there were no black football players on the team. Our coach recruited an signed a really good black player, our first. The kid was really good and was a great asset to our team. However, the first year he played there was a lot of controversy playing other teams in the south. It was a difficult time.
Now, fast forward to a few years later from that initial signing of the first black player and nobody cared anymore. The only thing the fans and teams all over cared about in recruiting was how many stars did he have-was he a three, four, five star recruit that was all that mattered-MERIT, as it should be. That is true in every sport now. Merit and how they can help the team is the only discussion.
I think that would be mostly true in the whole of our society if we just promoted ability, character and actual performance rather than just the difference in skin color. However, we continue to allow the identity hustlers to control our society. It was interesting to me that the DEI hustlers did not choose to include MERIT which should be the main criteria, IMO.

Nitro is an additive to the gasoline (I think) to give the engines more power.
It can be risky. If you crash, it’s bad.

I read the article this morning.
In a nutshell, it claimed that besides CRE being distressed, these regional banks are holding some crazy amount of residential mortgages from a few years back with low interest rates that they cannot sell off without massive losses due to the current rates, which is ok if they continue to hold the notes.
But, if they hold the notes, then their reserve ratios become too low on paper to loan any more money out. So they become insolvent.
They are damned no matter what they do. It was claimed that 63 banks were declared problematic by the FDIC, but wouldn’t give the name of the banks.
What happened to all of the trash from 2007/2008? Is it still buried in the current numbers?

What a waste of time. Texas tried suing another state over the election, how did that work out? If attorneys want to finally get off the bench and start participating, then sue individuals directly in as many places as possible for anything you can think of. Well, he might be replaced, I’ve said that myself. It’s not a hard, fast prediction. I didn’t put a stake on the ground, but I certainly I raised that, actually, last summer 2023 as a possibility and have written about it and it could happen. If it happens, it won’t be at the convention, it’ll be, really, at the end of June or the beginning of July. You know, in the coming weeks. You had to wait till the primary season was over and it’s not quite over yet. It’s over next week, so you want the primaries to be closed because you don’t want, you know, Gavin Newsom suddenly running in the Texas primary or whatever’s left, just about, I think, four or five states left first week of June. So, you don’t want that chaos, but on the other hand you, can’t wait until the convention because you want the convention to run smoothly. So, if you’re going to do the substitution it would have to be mid to late June, early July at the latest. So, we’ll see, but I consider that a real possibility.
Now vs the tumultuous 1960s starts at 20:00. Actually worse now than the more violent 60s.

Pretty sure it’s confidential, to preclude runs on said banks. Theoretically, the feds aren’t supposed to induce bank failures.

One thought, about some ghosts in the machine:
Yesterday there was an interesting hack and a bizarre “glitch.”
The hack was Lego Twitter, which displayed the image of Lego cat sitting on a laptop (clear reference to Roaring Kitty). As Ian Carroll has pointed out, something more than Keith Gill is playing games with GME.
The “glitch” caused 40 stocks (*biblical number) to temporarily crash 99 percent, including, famously, Berkshire Hathaway. If you think the glorification of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger and the icon status of BH isn’t classic DS maneuvers, I have a bridge to sell you.
Here’s the interesting part: the only commonalities between the other stocks were that they either involved commercial real estate or they were Canadian (*Barrick Gold), Mexican, Argentinian, or other South American.
Put together those dots with the recent elections in Mexico and Argentina , not to mention all the shenanigans that have gone on in Canada for decades (not just Castreau but also Frank Giustra, the Sherman deaths, U1, etc).

I have TD, they appear to be solvent. But they are ALL solvent until they aren’t. Right now they are “unrealized losses” for ALL banks in the $500 billion range. That means that these losses will be realized probably within the next 1 to 2 yrs. That’s massive and many will fail.
But they don’t realize the losses. They are forced to mark those securities to market value, even if the return is OK with the bank owner and matched with outgoing cash flow. The paper loss is how the regulators take down a bank’s regulatory (tier 1) capital.
It’s all paper losses.
Zerohedge is usually up on these things. Maybe look in the archives as it seems they ran an article on similar subject about a month or so ago.

Starbucks, which had operated in Russia since 2007, pulled out of the country in 2022 due to Western sanctions linked to the Ukraine conflict.
The business newspaper suggested the move could be a “preemptive measure” to secure the rights to buy back its former Russian business.

watchdog group has asked election officials in Clark County, Nevada to clear the voter rolls of registered voters whose addresses are listed as commercial locations, including casinos, strip clubs, smoke shops, and airports.
As reported by Breitbart, lawyers with the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) sent a letter on Monday to Clark County Registrar Lorena Portillo demanding that all registrants with obviously false addresses be removed ahead of the 2024 election.
“In our analysis of Nevada’s statewide voter list dated April 9, 2024, we identified numerous addresses listed as residential that appeared to be commercial buildings where no one resides,” the PILF lawyers said in their letter, calling for the voter rolls to be cleaned of such false registrants by June 17.
The locations in question included Harry Reid International Airport, Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Chavelo’s Mexican Bar and Grill, 7-Eleven’s, Mini Marts, and Smoke Shops. Eliminating such false registrants is especially crucial in Clark County, home to Las Vegas and the most populous county in the state, which automatically mails out ballots to every registered voter; all such ballots are mailed to whichever address is listed, even if it is clearly fake. This puts the county and the state at greater risk of voter fraud, just like the widespread voter fraud which occurred throughout the country in 2020.

Its seems this is not a big deal on this site or other news sites. Is it because the persons passport that was seized is Scott Ritter? I know many people dont have a high opnion of him and not all the facts are out. But this is down right scary. It should be headlines everywhere. When can the state department confiscate a US citizens passport? First he must be charged with a crime? Either this news is false or we all should be very worried.

Why isn’t the Canadian attorney, who goes by the online name Viva Frei, in Canada, fighting for the liberties of Canadian citizens instead of living in Florida complaining about America’s justice system, knowing he can’t do anything about what happens in the US legal system but complain while he has the perfect opportunity to force the Canadian rights to be upheld by taking his country’s legal system to task?
