I will openly admit to being one of those political followers who thought/think the DNC cannot stick with Joe Biden if they want to win the 2024 general election. Every move by the Barack Obama network and the hardcore leftist community generally aligned and reconciled with the DNC replacing Joe Biden at the Chicago convention in August.
However, as many people have noted the Ohio rules for ballot placement ahead of the 2024 general election require the party candidate to be certified by the national party prior to August 7th. The DNC nomination convention is August 19th, this creates a problem.
The Democrats are solving the problem by holding a “virtual roll call of delegates” prior to August 7th, which will adhere to the Ohio rules and reconcile the timeline disparity. However, this “virtual roll call” would then seemingly stop any Chicago convention effort to announce a horrible illness (or other) and replace Biden/Harris with something akin to Newsom/Rice.
Knowing the DNC and RNC are private clubs that can make up their own rules about how party nominees are decided, I’m still not sure the Ohio dilemma has blocked the replacement plan completely. If the DNC apparatus wants to nominate someone other than Biden, or replace Biden with someone prior to the 2024 election, there’s seemingly no national rule that would stop it.
It is only a state issue that can seemingly disrupt the DNC national agenda, and the state issue only impacts that state. Yes, if adherence to the aggregate primary election will of the voters is the paramount factor, then Biden/Harris will be 100% guaranteed as the ticket following the “virtual roll call of delegates.” Then again, what is the primary function of the convention (other than platform) if the virtual roll call determines the candidate prior to August 19th?

Again, knowing how openly extreme the communists and leftists are now, I don’t put anything beyond their ability to change it, break the rules about it, manipulate it, or totally stop the customary way something was being done in order to be more extreme.

I’m with you on the potential for a replacement – something will happen (health, impeachment, scandal, etc). But the real question becomes “who” and “would they be embraced”?
I think the best thing to happen would be the Dems replacing Biden, I don’t think the electorate would turn out. Yes, the Dems will stuff ballots but there is a certain amount of real votes needed in order to perpetrate the fraud. What that percentage is, I can’t speculate.

I think what the Ohio situation is doing is, as SD opines, costing the Obama-Clinton tribe several weeks of time in which to gather their forces to get rid of Joe. Before the Ohio problem, they knew that they had until the Aug 19 Convention to assemble their coalitions and make the deals they need to make in order to replace Joe. But if Joe is going to be “officially” the Dem Party candidate sometime prior to Aug 7 to make the Ohio deadline…..Obama is going to have to move faster — AND he won’t have the “cover” of the Convention in which to take Biden out.

“Rules” do not apply to those on a mission to “save democracy” from Trump. Every action, misdeed, falsehood, and unconstitutional act is valid, because Trump is an “existential threat” to our democracy. — At 11:30 PM EST, Donald Trump refuses to concede citing evidence of massive election fraud in the seven swing states and in other states across the nation. The MSM then labels Donald Trump and his MAGA followers as criminal insurrectionists.
— Merrick Garland quickly follows suit with an announcement that the FBI will arrest and prosecute anyone who challenges the outcome with the intent of engaging in criminal interference with the 2024 election.
Will Crooked Joe actually be replaced on the ticket?
Sure, anything can happen. But it doesn’t serve a useful purpose for the Democrats to replace him if they are reasonably confident they can get away with stealing 2024.
Once Biden is on the ballot it doesn’t mater what happens after that. The Dems will vote for him and Harris even if Biden were to drop out before Nov 5th.
In fact, if Biden has a fatal medical event before Nov 5th, a State Funeral may be just the thing to drive up his numbers to win the Election.
After that it’s up to the DNC, State Electors and the Electoral College rules on what happens next.

My former Fuehrer Thomas Wolf completed his two terms as PA gauleiter… er, governor in January of 2023. He was replaced by his attorney general Joshua Shapiro, who has had POTUS ambitions since his days as a state representative and a county commissioner.
If i understand this issue correctly, they could replace Biden at the convention. But, the Ohio ballots would still have the officially selected candidate names.
The problem is that is 17 electoral votes that would go to Biden if he won the state. Those would not follow his successor automatically. Those votes belong to the candidates on the ballot not a political party. There is nothing in the constitution that awards the election to a corporate party.
How would they “fix” that problem? Regardless, it will be interesting to watch the mental gymnastics they employ to get around that problem.

I still can’t figure out why the DNC has this problem in the first place. Didn’t they check these things like deadlines to be on the ballot in all 50 states? Or did they just think Ohio would make an exception? Apparently, they have done that in the past.

I thought a while back it was shared that the UniParty may be moving toward green lighting Trump to win and then try to put the economy and immigration and all of their FU’s onto his/our shoulders? Of course after spending 12 months locking down his ability to move anything of significance. I guess only time will tell.
I have long thought the DNC would not replace Biden as their nominee because Biden, as the bait, would never agree to the switch. His entire professional life he has wanted to be POTUS and he has achieved that goal by hook and by crook. He will never willingly give it up. And his dementia will do nothing but harden his resolve.
As to whether he can be forced by a combined effort of Obama, Clinton, and Pelosi, as suggested by Speaker Gingrich on Charlie Kirk today, that will be like trying to defuse a land mine with a blunt Swiss Army knife with a non-functioning pair a scissors. Biden and his family know where most of their bodies have been buried. If he goes down, he can take them down, too.
Even if he can be coaxed to step aside willingly, i.e., bribed, what to do with Kamala? And all of this must be done in front of an electorate that has been awakening to the profound corruption in our political class and governing institutions, and will like confirm them in their growing consensus.

I agree with Sundance – they know they have to replace SloJoe but I think there is currently a LOT of infighting to figure out who to slip into the top spot before the convention – and how to do it without angering whole swaths of the Democrat Party ‘s most loyal foot soldiers. Now it looks like even that deadline has been pushed forward from August 19th to August 7th so they are on an even tighter time crunch!
Kamala will not take kindly to being pushed out but everyone knows that she CANNOT win – not even with 2020 level cheating on steroids! Mooch doesn’t want it because it would require her to do work AND to pretend that she doesn’t hate more than half the country! Newsom blew his audition in the “debate” with RonDa and Hillary wants it so badly that she can taste it but, again, no one really likes her either!

I think the issue is that someone has to be duly nominated under Ohio law by the deadline.
After that, all state laws / party rules at that point will have a succession provision in case of the declared candidate’s death or incapacitation.
So Biden is just the “placeholder” and if he stands down (is ousted) for one of the reasons recognized by state law/party rules (which his handlers will certainly ensure is the case), then his successor will be grandfathered in, so to speak.
The Democrats and their allies (be they RINO’s or other) are completely lawless. They will stop at nothing; no even murder will stop them from doing everything they can to keep and seize power. They are pure EVIL.
As long as there is no equal application of the law, weaponized institutions, rigged elections, global collusion, and only one mutually aligned political party (UniParty) to get Trump, the enemy can do whatever they want and they have been openly doing just that since MAGA 2016. The fake insurrection show trials are to intimidate we the people who can see it and are the only thing that can collectively stop them. We are not allowed to elect our representatives anymore. Many do not remember that near the end of Obama’s first term there were rumors that Joe Biden was being replaced. Without consulting Obama, Joe rushed out and announced that he wasn’t going anywhere, that he was on the ticket. Obama never acknowledged that until the convention. Right now old Joe is fighting to keep from being dumped by Obama.
If the Dems are truly freaking out over the Ohio mess, it is because all along they intended to replace Biden as the candidate.
