Thanks for posting this interview with Jeffrey Sachs. It’s maybe the most insightful and interesting I’ve heard for a long while. I don’t agree with everything he says, but 90% of it is right. He validates what Sundance has been saying about the CIA (IC) and the Neocons. I think he’s wrong about a “two-state solution” in the ME (unless we move the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs to Jordan and Israel gets Judea and Sumaria).

And those two policies, in isolation are NOT what the majority of the electorate oppose.
Its Open BORDER, and its no Drill baby drill, that top the list. And no Dem is going to distance themselves from those policies.
Replacing Joe, and figuring out what to do with Karmella, is a lot of effort for no benefit, so why bother?

A core problem in the senate is lack of allies. How does one best seek to accomplish anything when there are so few around willing to undertake action on behalf of the people?
Went through the ostensible Republicans. Johnson, Paul, and Lee were elected in 2010. How steadfast they have been can be – I suppose – argued, but until 2018, there was no help from others (not a fan of Cruz). There are only about 9 or 10 elected since 2018 who at least help somewhat. Not looking to argue mightily the rights and wrongs of each, but clearly if there is no set of fighters, the problem of accomplishment becomes problematic.
Johnson has stood up for the good. I do not expect perfection from myself or anyone else. I do not expect full agreement. In a tough spot, Johnson has earned some chits. Not sure he’s the leader, but next to McConnell, Thune, Cornyn – he would be superstar.
