I scratch my head on this one. How can CA be pissed off enough to get a recall election for this joker (mainly due to his covid policies and hypocrisies) but then he survives easily the recall attempt?
Newsom won the governorship in 2018 with about 62% of the vote, he survived the recall with about 62% rejecting his removal and he won re-election in 2022 with about 59%. His mis-handling of covid didn’t hurt him at all (it was a difficult time and we were all learning…..S/).
CA had a $97 billion surplus Newsom bragged about 2 years ago, its gone, yet it doesn’t look like CA is fazed at all (my moonbat in-laws in Marin couldn’t care less; they buy a tank of gas every 3 weeks and the price of boneless, skinless, free-range, organic, democrat, BLM-friendly chicken breasts is never an issue). I believe until they’re hurt financially, nothing will sway their support for Newsom.
It’s Republicans too. They are equally corrupt and enable the Democrat wing of the Uniparty vulture.

The colors of a flag aren’t just for identifying where your own side is in the middle of battle. They become a pronouncement of who are group of people ARE, and what territory they govern.
Here is an example: A number of years ago, I drove from Belfast to Derry/Londonderry to Antrim, in Northern Ireland.
There’s not a lot between Belfast and Derry, but there are a couple of towns. As you entered one of those towns, every lamppost and sidewalk was painted orange and green. You knew, at that moment, who really ruled that town, and who was welcome and who was not.
Antrim was the exact opposite. Every lamppost and sidewalk was painted red, white and blue and the Union Jack flew above most establishments.
This is why it is important that we fly the flag, even if we fly it upside down, and this is why no public bridge or building should display any colors other than those of the American flag: Who really rules the hearts and minds of the people?
What collective of people exist in that territory?

As for the recall: of the ballots that were counted, 1 of three were in favor of the recall. If ballots were counted honestly, I suspect he would have lost. Sadly, there are very few opposition leaders in this state. At least, not visible in MAGA friendly media.

They set up a “hot spot” so they could “livestream” their activities.
They then established a connection with the coffee machine, sitting NEXT TO the election tabulator.
The coffee machine is set up to notify the compant when it needs resupplying with coffee, sugar, cups, etc.
They then instructed the coffee machine via to connect to the tabulator using “bluetooth” and got as far as the “handshake” manuever, which is where the machines make the connection.
They d.c.’d at that point because to go any farther MAY have violated the law.

Next time you vote look very closely at the “Voting System” used by the polling location …. the “voting machines” used to ENTER VOTES are stand-alone terminals that PRINT a bar coded BALLOT that is then fed into LAPTOP COMPUTERS, which have internet and USB ports.

The bulk of the USDA research (“in-vivo challenge work”) is conducted at the U.S. National Poultry Research Center, Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory (SEPRL) facility in Athens, Georgia. The Chinese Academy of Sciences performs in vivo and vitro fitness measurements for the project. Dr. Darrell Kapczynski, senior scientist at the USDA, is at the heart of this project. He’s been working with H5N1 since 2008, purportedly helping to develop vaccines.
A few months after the start of this gain-of-function attempt, a new H5N1 virus (clade 2.3.4.4b) appeared in wild birds in the U.S. leading to the current outbreaks.
Researchers propose that the current H5N1 viruses arrived in North America from wild migratory bird populations coming from Asia. This hypothesis was posited in a 2022 paper titled Transatlantic spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 by wild birds from Europe to North America in 2021.
The name of one of the authors, R.A.M. Fouchier, caught my eye, as he is widely known for performing notorious GoF work on H5N1 to make it transmissible among ferrets. I was also surprised to read the authors’ statement:
Our analysis of wild bird migration suggested that these viruses may have been carried across the Atlantic via Iceland, Greenland/Arctic or pelagic routes.
The basis of this hypothesis is that the virus was purportedly found in a sick great black-backed gull in a pond in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This strikes me as questionable, because great black-backed gulls that reside in North America are not known to migrate between Europe, Greenland, and Newfoundland, but south along the east coast of North America.
Finally, if the emergency of SARS-CoV-2 in Wuhan, China has taught us anything, it’s that we should question any official representations of infectious pathogen origins.
Urgent investigation is required to ensure there were no lab leaks at the SEPRL facility in Athens, Georgia, or any other facility that could lead to the escape of lab-modified strains of H5N1 bird flu.

The timing of all this is really suspicious. For Congressional regulators (Ha! An oxymoron. – W) or for any journalists out there here is the operative question: can we get the exact precise genetics of the experiments that were being conducted in these labs, which exact genetics were they working with, and what’s the similarity of those to the genetics of the current outbreak we’re seeing.
I’ve read so many books and articles about the hazards of biolabs that I can’t recall in which one an expert on the topic said that every time there’s an outbreak of some new virus he just works from the first assumption that it came from a lab.

The danger to world or regional public health from the escape from microbiology laboratories of pathogens capable of causing pandemics, or Potentially Pandemic Pathogens (PPPs) has been the subject of considerable discussion including mathematical modeling of the probability and impact of such escapes. The risk of such releases has generally been determined from estimates of laboratory infections that are often incomplete, except for the recent 2013 Centers for Disease Control (CDC) report, which is a significant source of recent data on escapes from undetected and unreported laboratory-acquired infections (LAIs).
This paper presents an historical review of outbreaks of PPPs or similarly transmissible pathogens that occurred from presumably well-funded and supervised nationally supported laboratories. It should be emphasized that these examples are only the “tip of the iceberg” because they represent laboratory accidents that have actually caused illness outside of the laboratory in the general public environment. The list of laboratory workers who have contracted potentially contagious infections in microbiology labs but did not start community outbreaks is much, much longer. The examples here are not “near misses;” these escapes caused real-world outbreaks.

In 2019, FSAP received 219 reports of BSAT release and 13 reports of BSAT loss. By comparison, FSAP has received between 193 and 237 reports of releases each year since 2015, and 8 to 12 reports of losses. As in 2015 through 2018, there were again no reports of theft of BSAT in 2019.
Of the 219 reports of a BSAT release, 92 were submitted by registered entities and 127 were from non-registered entities. The source of the infection was attributed to contact with infected animals in the performance of the worker’s duties. The worker received medical treatment and fully recovered from the illness. The entity notified all workers potentially exposed to the infected worker and found no evidence of disease transmission to others.

None of what you listed would be in a closing argument. Closing arguments are a summation of the “evidence” (testimony and documents) or “lack of evidence.”

They just can’t stop tee times during a major. I had to be flexible and make decisions for public health, keep things operating and lessen the impact on people’s lives. We had an unknown odor in a 5 story medical building on a hospital campus with a few people that became ill. We had to evacuate and search the entire building to determine the source (if any) or ensure there was nothing, slight probably, it was also the ortho building with a surgery center. A few surgeries were on going. We did some quick monitoring and determined there was no issue around the surgery area. We worked with the staff to identify what needed to be done to assist the doctors and patient to ensure their safety while allowing the surgery to be completed. As the Fire Captain on the Haz Mat Team, I had the training and authority to wig out and tell the cops I needed the place shut down and evacuated immediately, that everyone would die if we didn’t.
That’s what an idiot would do, I think this is what the cop did and none of his peers intervened to back things down. That cop brought. Whole lot of drama to his police department, just like I could’ve to my fire department, the hospital and sheriff’s department.
We had one of our firefighters cuffed by CHP on I-10 for blocking a lane of traffic while at scene of an accident. It took the response of a battalion chief and CHP sergeant to de-escalate the matter.
I had to walk someone across the road complaining of neck pain after an accident because the CHP officer wanted the road opened, he didn’t care that the person was hurt only his precious roadway….
Now, anytime they do a fatality investigation they shut the roads down and all of a sudden opening the road is no longer important. I could normally get what I wanted by the way I “requested” (really tell them how it was going to happen but allowing them to make it their idea). The safety of my crew was most important, I would always block an extra lane with the fire engine (the one benefit of not having a traditional Capt, Engineer, Firefighters staffing module – I was the capt and drove, so I parked exactly where I wanted without needing to explain myself).

CHP/Highway Patrol do it all day long so they don’t care. In CA, I’m sure all states, it was a call to the governor’s office if the was a lane closure for more than some period of time (I think 15 or 30 minutes) and avoiding that call was the priority.
One of my favorite guys was on an accident one foggy morning. He blocked the road like he normally does and the CHP officer (they had investigated authority for accidents on county roads) was yelling at him to move the engine. He pretty much was ignoring the CHP officer and then, boom!!! A car hit the engine – it would’ve hit the CHP officer doing his cop stuff. That CHP officer never complained about a fire engine after that.
I can say with 100% certainty that the cop wigged out. Once he started down a path he need to finish (for his pride, not serving the citizens) so that meant Scheffler was getting booked. Because they found out who he was, they needed to throw the book at Scheffler to justify their behavior.
Right now, the police chief is probably opening her lower desk drawer and pulling out her bottle of bourbon wondering if she has enough time in to retire.

Charges filed:
2nd degree assault of a police officer (a felony). 3rd degree criminal mischief. Reckless driving. Disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.
There was a fatality accident earlier that had traffic stopped for miles. It was dark and raining. The players were told they were allowed to enter and had courtesy cars clearly marked indicating they were part of the group allowed to proceed. The officers were wearing yellow rain jackets and were not distinguishable from regular security event personnel.
Scottie, following what he thought was the correct procedure went around a driverless car onto the shoulder to enter the grounds and passed an unidentified officer who took offense and started yelling obscenities at the car and grabbed onto the door handle. Scotty continued at 10-20 mph for about 10-20 yards where the officer finally reached through the window, opened the door and pulled him out. The officer was clearly enraged and blew it out of proportion.
Scottie was arrested, booked and released and due to the traffic conditions, play had been pushed back an hour from original start times. Yes, the elites of Louisville came to his rescue. He is on the driving range now and is going to tee off at the proper time.
He, according to eyewitnesses never raised his voice, told the officer he was unaware of who he was, and is truly one of the nicest people playing professional golf. He just had his first child born about 10 days ago.
Shows how those in power can misuse their authority, they can load up charges and compound any mistake and unawareness into serious crimes at any time for seemingly an innocuous action.
If he were a Trump supporter, and this happened in DC? He would have been charged with insurrection and would be sitting in jail for years. My jaded opinion, and I believe the charges will be dropped, at the least the felony charge.
I don’t think the “elites” came to his rescue. I spent 20+ years in the fire department. I’ve seen cops “wig out” (think flailing arms, crying) over stupid stuff, ignore very serious stuff because they’re not good at their jobs, but then spent a lot of time around dialed ones that know how to do what’s right.
I remember an accident on I-215 one morning at 5:30 am where we had to cut someone out of a car. One lanes was open. We needed to get some debris for the tow truck driver, CHP was trying to get a car to stop but the kept going. The next car then tried to just follow. The cop pounded is hand on the hood and the car stopped. The CHP officer went over to scold the guy (told me later nothing more than that, so he would pay attention next time). Unfortunately, the guy had a tall boy between his legs. Had he just stopped, nothing. Had the car in front of him stopped nothing. Wasn’t his day, DUI – he had a few other empties.
The cop in Louisville prob didn’t get the memo that some cars (players, caddies, officials) will be driving through. I’m sure Scheffler was told to just drive through via some alert system. The PGA officials and PD probably worked something out. This cop overreacted.
The DA’s office won’t go through with all the charges, if they do it’s a case of protecting each other at all costs.

All players get vehicles provided to them for use during a tournament. For instance, Mercedes is the supplier to The Masters.

My saying the “elites” came to his rescue are from hearing that the owner of Valhalla GC, where the PGA Championship is being played, has already appealed to the City of Louisville to intervene.
He is rich and influential in that area, hence the label “elite”.
I have no love for the PGA. Immediately upon the election of President Trump the PGA took away the old and longstanding Doral Open tournament at the Blue Monster because Donald Trump owns the course.
To add injury to the insult, the PGA then scheduled that opening in Mexico City. How much more in your face could they be.
The owner is a member, probably of the highest standard, of the PGA of America. He is in the Club, and my comment was to juxtapose the differences between them and the common man. The charges will be dropped. Only because of who is involved.

The problem with the J6 protestors is they did something stupid (those that entered the Capitol). Unfortunately, it was not private property and the wrong political party is in charge.

I standby my initial assumption that Scheffler was literally following the arrangements made between the PGA Tour and PD to get players, caddies and officials onto the grounds. The just over hour delay was to accommodate the initial emergency and develop a plan. The officer who caused the drama is an idiot.

2 systems of justice on display…
My roommate when I lived in San Diego was a cop for San Diego State, bad neighborhood on the other side of El Cajon Blvd from the campus area. They backed up SDPD a lot.
Their shifts rotated every 4 months between day and nights, front half of week to back half. When he worked nights he would actual patrol, a lot of dirtbags coming onto campus to do bad stuff – he was protecting the students. Well, one of the police chiefs he had didn’t like it, too many arrests and the crime stats for the campus didn’t look good. Another one of the chief’s loved him. Everything is politics!!!!
In this case, it’s just a stupid cop that made a bad decision and kept compounding the bad decisions.
The thing to keep in mind is cops can do whatever they want, for the most part, in the heat of the moment. It’s you the citizen that gets screwed if they want to flex their muscles and go their the vehicle code, criminal code with a fine tooth comb and charge you with everything. In this case, he needed to in order to justify this arrest that was certain to gain international exposure.
An officer that he couldn’t tell was an officer. Whole thing is crap. I don’t know why these idiots won’t let go of the rope.

I think the PGA Tour’s attorney’s helped draft it. It coincides with what I thought: the PGA Tour and PD made arrangements on who and how would be allowed to enter.
I ran the fire dept operations and/or was in in the planning for the Bob Hope Classic/Chrysler Classic/Humana Challenge for over 10 years. The tournament director would’ve been on scene of the fatality (it involved a shuttle) as quickly as possible. The tournament directors arrive early and leave late every day of the event. There’s no way a discussion between the tournament director and Louisville PD sergeant or higher didn’t occur – a plan on who and how they would get into the clubhouse was laid out. Schaffer was just following what the PGA Tour, with Louisville PD’s approval, told him to do – the cop who wigged out is an idiot.
But wasn’t part of the event security. He arrived as part of the accident management.
But he’s still an idiot to keep pushing on this. Freaking assault?
He was there in response to the fatality auto (shuttle bus) v. pedestrian. Cop’s straight up close roads to investigate fatality accidents, for hours – 4+ hours I would say is the average.
The problem is the tournament play for today would then need to be cancelled because no one could get in.
My assumption is Louisville PD and the PGA Tour made a plan to allow players, caddies and officials onto the property (through the fatality investigation which is a crime scene). Scheduled was following the directions he was given from the PGA Tour, with approval of Louisville PD sergeant or above. This officer who got stuck as the crime scene gate keeper failed at his job – most likely because he’s an idiot.
I live near the main road where the accident happened and have witnessed multiple police cars parked on both sides of the main thoroughfare on this side of the city all day long. There is Huge police presence here just two weeks after Kentucky derby event. The local discussion is Scheffler has a good local defense attorney and that most charges ( felony) would likely get dropped.
It was a Dark rainy morning and some local roads including the nearby expressway have construction so there are many traffic delays. Perhaps there was overreaction or confusion about directions and people are anxious and make human mistakes. I hope this is resolved timely, as the tragedy is the traffic death of a volunteer.

I think it all goes back to MONEY and much of that is the CARES Act. Look at a data table of annual US Flu cases from 2017 through 2022. It is comical (and sad) that case counts range from 30 to 40 million per year except for 2021 when it was less than 10 million (Statista data).
Why? Well, if you’re a hospital administrator knowing you’re in line for a financial kickback if admitting a covid patient as opposed to a Flu A or Flu B patient, what are you going to be inclined to do? In addition to mis-using the PCR test by running cycles in excess of 25-fold (almost ensuring a false positive), at the time, one could also be ‘covid positive’ without PCR test results by presenting with certain symptoms (can’t taste or smell = covid positive even without PCR).

That was fantastic. Im in a running debate with my wife on this subject. She is so pro-sunscreen, and Im just like “I think we need to question that”, (as I am about ANY long held conventional wisdom-type thing nowadays). And the idea of putting all these chemicals on your body seems stupid, so Ive recently started only using zinc oxide. I had heard about the “no swimming with suncreen in Hawaii because it kills the reef” thing, so that made me think, too.
The dermatology PR campaign in the 80s really brings it all home though.

I have never seen this happen, in any one of these dermatology offices. And the ones in Vegas and San Antonio were huge, 1st class, all the way.

Yes I disagree. The majority of melanomas are caused from (UV) radiation. And according to most dermatologists, (at least the ones I have seen and researched), say it is from sun exposure, mainly.
I’ve had at least a 100 visits and never has something like, missing a cancer spot on the face, happened. In fact, they always asked me if I wanted a full body exam. (When seeing them for the 1st time).
I been seen by both doctors and NP. Both were very professional. You would never know the difference between them.
As far as any dermatologist I’ve been too, it was always run like anything other business. Never did any one of them push me into an unnecessary surgery. Always a biopsy was taken and then a discussion on the various treatment options.
My dermatologist actually told me about blood root to remove skin cancer. She said she had some patients who chose this to remove the cancer. I actually bought some but upon reading how it works I decided that there was a lot less damage to the skin area to do it the derms way. She scraps it off, cauterizes it, the end. I did have the cancer on my eyelid and I do not know how I could have gotten it there. I wear contact lenses so I wear sunglasses most of the time if it is sunny. No one seems to have a clue how one gets it in that particular location. That was a bit more complex to remove.
There is one medical procedure that I think is performed unnecessarily and that is cataract surgery.
I had my eye doctor tell me my cataracts had gotten so bad so she referred me to a cataract surgeon. I didn’t really think I needed it; I asked her to bump up my contact prescription in my left eye, which she did, and my vision was fine.
I decided to go to the cataract exam anyway and spend 90 minutes having every test possible done to my eyes. When the surgeon came in, he said that my right eye did not meet the minimum requirements to qualify for cataract surgery. Then he looked in my left eye and then he asked me which eye would I like to have done first. I was so confused I ultimately did not have the surgery. I have met other people who say their eye doctor recommended cataract surgery and they didn’t think they needed it but had it anyway.
It has been a year and I still have not had the surgery and I see just fine. I think there must be a lot of money to make in that surgery.
Dermatologists are making a fortune off of MOHS procedures on basal cell lesions. In most cases uneccesary.
