I don’t think it was a political move per se, as much as Tesla has superior charging technology and just made it available to competitors to use – at least that is the understanding I got. Youtube channel technology connections has a video about this – not political, just technically the differences and problems with charging stations and industry standards. The title is “Tesla won the plug war – and that’s good news”. It’s an easy watch to understand the tech nuance outside of anything political and for people like me who have zero experience with electric vehicles.
More information: 68% of Teslas sold were sold into the geographical location called “Silicon Valley” in Liberal California who has led the charge on the hoaxes called Climate Change, Global Warming, and Green energy – all which are failing dramatically. Musk received billions from the Obama administration to build Tesla and Solar City – it was all political driven by the desire to shove Global Warming down everyone’s throat. Elon Musk has proclaimed many times that Global Warming was going to kill the planet – much like Greta Thornberg. There is not technological superior about Tesla – at the end of the day is all about the elites controlling the peasants – take their cars and heating/cooling away from them – and population control.

Because of data analytics they know exactly what they’re up against, and they destroy it one bite at a time. That’s what they’ve been doing to President Trump. 70 million here, 500 million there, next thing you know it adds up to real money. Musk is a great forcefield for him to have. Truly deep pockets.
