No one at the time was using the synthesizer like Prince and she loved the groove and sound. Stevie called Prince and asked him if he would work with her sometime and get together with her musical director at the time to create the sound. Lo and behold Prince showed up at her studio room in about a 1/2 hour and they worked the sound out for “Stand Back”. In return she gave him half the royalties to the song. If you listen to the earlier recordings of Stand Back you can see Prince’s influence in the synth. Later versions of Stand Back have drifted more toward Waddy Wadel’s killer sound. No one is really able to say if Prince did the synth on the original recording.

During Purple Rains huge popularity my sister did a fabulous drawing of Prince. I loved the drawing/painting so much I contacted his “people” who set up an appointment for me to bring the drawing in.
Was all pretty cool. I must have been in my early 20s at the time and had to drive across the Twin Cities to a place west of Minneapolis to meet with them early evening.
They loved my sister’s drawing, but couldn’t use it.

Why deplete her cash for any reason? Because sometimes that is the best or only cash a person has at that moment.
My hubby stopped at a farm auction. Never meant to go to it, but ended up buying an old tractor. At that point he could go into town and see if he could get the cash needed to pay for the tractor, or get a “home loan” and pay it back later. Cash was down for a couple days and doing that made life easier.
Is that what Fani did? Who knows.
But there are people who are trying to prepare and have cash on hand for emergencies, like the end of the country.

If your child has no chronic health conditions, you can pretty much skip doctor’s visits altogether. If you need an antibiotic, go to adult urgent care or do telemedicine.
Adults don’t really need BS annual check-ups either. If you have a chronic condition, have the relevant specialist manage it. If you need acute care – hospital for life and death and urgent care/telemedicine for an antibiotic.
And if you do take your child to a healthcare provider, never leave them alone with the person.

This is neither a secret nor a surprise. I hope Sundance picks up on this and runs with it more in another thread. Clinton was a favorite of every world leader, especially corrupt ones, because she was willing to accept questionable money. Both she, her husband, and their foundation had a proven track record. And even though Trump was a political unknown, even Putin knew that Trump was not one to be bribed…not then…not now…not ever. I imagine Putin wore a “Hillary for President” button underneath his suit.

Escaping Gaza, for fun: Israelis take to ‘escape rooms’ that mimic war
Operator of ‘Fauda’-based Gaza role-play game says customers want to ‘kick some Arabs’ ass’
TEL AVIV — You’re an Israeli agent blindfolded, hands on the shoulders of a comrade in front of you — who is also blindfolded, hands on the shoulders of the one in front of them.
You shuffle together through a maze of doors until you’re allowed to remove the kaffiyehs from your eyes. You find yourselves packed into a dark apartment in Gaza City, a TV blaring news in Arabic.
The Al Jazeera broadcast cuts to a video message from your commander, speaking in Hebrew: You have two minutes to disguise yourselves as Palestinians, he says, then 58 to make your way to Al-Shifa Hospital and through a tunnel beneath it to neutralize a chemical bomb. If you’re caught, Israel will deny any connection to you. And if you fail, a terrorist will plant the bomb in Israel.
Arik Turkenich, a businessman, built this live-action role-playing experience back in 2016, shortly after the debut of Fauda, the hit Netflix show. He consulted with the show’s creators on the design, and arranged for its star, Lior Raz, to play the commander.
Business boomed as Fauda gained fans in Israel and across the globe.
At about $33 a head, “Fauda: Explosive Lab” was popular for corporate team-building, bachelor parties and tourists alike.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, business flatlined after Oct. 7, as tourism dried up and Israelis were traumatized by Hamas having killed 1,200 people and abducted 250 to Gaza spaces similar to those in Turkenich’s escape room.
But a trickle of customers began to filter back in January, and Turkenich said most are choosing the Gaza scenario rather than his other rooms — one based on a J.R.R. Tolkien-style quest and the other on a plane crash in a South American rainforest.
One group that came were evacuees from a community near the Lebanese border. There was a unit of Israeli soldiers who arrived in uniform with their commander. And, to Turkenich’s surprise, the wife of a reservist who recently returned from Gaza booked the Fauda room for their first night out together.
“It’s funny,” he said, in a funny-not-funny sort of way. “I thought at the beginning I should close it. I thought who the hell would want to play ‘Fauda’ now? But Israelis, you know, they’re unpredictable.”
Escape rooms started in Japan in 2007, and there are now about 150,000 worldwide. Gai Bosco, an Israeli who has designed about 250 of them, said that a decade ago, Israel had 400 escape rooms, or one for every 20,000 people — the highest per capita ratio in the world. Now there are 186, he said, keeping the country in the top 10.
Turkenich is not alone among Israeli operators in also offering closer-to-home scenarios. Karen Almog, who owns escape room complexes in Raanana and Petach Tikva, offers “Behind Enemy Lines,” which takes place in Iran and involves a nuclear weapon. She has been soul-searching since the Gaza war started about whether pretending to trap customers in a room under fake duress is an ethical way to eke out a living.
“Of course I want the business back,” she said, “but I want the hostages back even more and want to avoid seeming insensitive to the traumas my country is facing.”

But Turkenich always makes sure his customers complete their mission.
“Everyone in Israel thinks they’re so smart and they, you know, blame the operator if they don’t win,” he said.
“Because of our history, we have to win because we can’t afford losing.”

I just read an interesting article over on Sputnik where Putin said that he had expected Tucker to be much more vocal and aggressive than he was – and he wanted this, so that he could be more “pointed” in his comments also. But, he said, in so many words, that “Tucker said what he was going to do and he did it.” Putin followed his lead and did not introduce other topics during the taped interview, which was extremely cordial. The two did speak off-camera later.
I did find that comment very interesting, and somewhat unexpected. He did also say that he appreciated the opportunity to say things that he knew would actually be heard by many people. (Didn’t that used to be called, “journalism?”)

I read that this morning. My opinion is that Vladimir Putin is so used to western journalists being combative and to media asking him the most negative questions that he had prepared for that and would have given lick for lick, I’m sure.
I also thought his comments were quite interesting.
I found that comment very interesting. I’d like to see a second interview.
I have always liked the way Tucker interviews. He asks a question and allows the person to respond, he doesn’t constantly interrupt or try to interject his own ideas.

Fani Willis appears to have admitted to a campaign finance crime while testifying about why she gave her prosecutor lover Nathan Wade large payments of cash, which is believed to be Fulton County taxpayer money.
This is grounds for termination and she should actually be in jail for this admission.
On the money.
Speaking from a man’s perspective about Fani Willis, you are either wearing beer bottle goggles 24/7 or you are having sexual relations with her for money. I think she was paying him for sex.
Another thing about that government ho, is she never paid him any reimbursement for a damn thing. She is to entitled for that. Just look at her testimony, over and over she talked about she paid other lawyers 60 dollars an hour for work and how proud she was for that. The only lawyer she ever paid big money to was her RICO partner the gigolo

Muammar Gaddafi was very intelligent. As a GENERAL PROPOSITION — when a Judge is inclined to rule against a particular participant, that Judge allows the participant to say pretty much anything and everything he/she wants. It’s called “protecting the record.”
What that does is cut-off the losing party from being able to claim “You didn’t give me a chance to say everything I wanted to say, blah, blah, blah.”
All it really does is eat up time, but the extra time spent in the hearing is a small fraction of what would be required if the judge was reversed and the matter had to be done over again.
I suspect that if Judge McAfee was of the opinion that Willis’ conduct was simply unprofessional and unethical, but not disqualifying — taking the worst case spin on everything presented by the defendants — he would not be allowing his to grind on with Willis on the stand.
But to let her say everything she wants to say, he has to let the questioning continue.
I will highly surprised if the above statement is true.
What I saw was the judge stopping all the questions when he knew the witness DA Fani was about to get cornered and made to tell the truth.
