Trump Asks Supreme Court To Intervene In Immunity Appeal | ZeroHedge
Former President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Monday to step in and weigh in on his claim of presidential immunity after the DC Circuit Court of Appeals sided with special counsel Jack Smith – ruling that Trump is not immune from prosecution. The lower court held off on issuing the mandate until Monday in order to allow Trump’s legal team time to approach the Supreme Court.
Trump is specifically asking the Supreme Court to pause the lower court’s ruling until he can formally appeal, which will further delay his trial in front of District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan.
Smith sought to keep the trial on schedule in December by asking the Supreme Court to take up the question before the appeals court had a chance to consider it, but the justices rejected his request.
“President Trump’s claim that Presidents have absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for their official acts presents a novel, complex, and momentous question that warrants careful consideration on appeal,” the application states. “The panel opinion below, like the district court, concludes that Presidential immunity from prosecution for official acts does not exist at all. Wisconsin Republicans have a large majority in the state legislature, but refuse to deal with obvious election integrity issues. They are daring the voters to get rid of them. Well, that’s the huge flaw in the voting strategy, or the outcome of not having a strategy and every one does their own myopic thing. If a RINO wins the GOP primary, then vote for that person in November. This is how Democrats vote and this is how they secure majorities. We need to vote the same way. The time to try to oust the RINOs is during the primaries, not the general elections. Fetterman won a precious Pennsylvania Senate seat and helped the Democrats secure the Senate majority because too many conservative voters refused to vote for Oz. BIG MISTAKE. A Democrat won Alaska’s only Representative seat because too many conservative voters refused to vote for Palin. BIG MISTAKE. We need to stop making mistakes like this.
Wisconsin was blue in 2016 too, but Trump won the state to the shock of Hillary and other Democrats. IIRC, Hillary didn’t even bother to go there, she was so certain she would win the state.
Cruz was strong in Wisconsin. Trump had a few visits to the state in late 2020 which, with the absence of Hilldog, helped him cruz to victory.
In this election cycle the state’s influential conservative talk radio station has a couple hosts that insisted there is no way Trump can win, but DeSantis could. IMO some magical thinking that DeSantis is some kind of “acceptable” candidate that wouldn’t be facing any of the shit thrown by radical leftists at President Trump.

US House Speaker Rejects Senate’s Ukraine Aid Bill As Written
US House Speaker Mike Johnson indicated Monday that his Republican-led chamber would not take up a Senate bill to provide billions in additional aid to Ukraine and Israel.
The $95 billion security package does not include changes to US immigration policy, after a previous Senate text that encompassed both issues failed.
“Now, in the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters,” Johnson said in a statement.

This is so confusing. The Senate voted tonight on Amendment 1388 to HR 815. I thought they already invoked cloture (ending debate) yesterday, but the Senate’s tweet says tonight was a cloture vote. So confusing. In any case, Martin posted info from Mike Johnson that this bill amendment is toast just like the prior one. Every time Mike Johnson holds firm, Zelensky probably cries himself to sleep. No more Paris shopping trips for his wife.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) fired a warning shot at the Senate’s foreign aid package Monday night, criticizing the $95.3 billion supplemental as the upper chamber inches closer to a final vote on the legislation.
