BK: Perhaps for different reasons, I agree with you. Israel’s reliance on US arms is likely most significant with regards to Israel’s F-15s, F-16s and F-35. Keeping those planes in the air takes a lot of spare parts from the US. I don’t know if Israel can produce enough of its own 155 mm ammo of various forms. I suspect that Israel also relies upon the US for aerial guided ordnance.
For me, Israel’s problem is the distortion of its political and military decision making, due to over-reliance on US aid. If Israel could meet its own internal needs for arms and munitions, it should be better off “going it alone.”

I learned here at the Treehouse that most corporations write legislation, which I completely agree with. What I don’t understand is why they would over regulate large corporations? Is it so they have justification to move their operations to cheaper and less regulated countries?

The regulators do not over regulate industry. That is a myth propounded by certain companies through well paid lobbyists and PR people who genuinely believe what they are told. Look closer and you will find that the people fervently complaining about over-regulation and citing specific ridiculous sounding examples do not really know much about the technical industry. In fact, citing the specifics of that one example (which they were fed) makes them sound more techno-savvy than they are, so they repeat it often for the psychic income of sounding ‘in the know’ about xyz, which only super smart people understand.
The regulations go through a public process: Notice of Proposed Rule Making. Some people disagree. After the reg is passed, then the big companies apply to the regulator for a deviation. The Letters of Deviation Authority (LODA)s are company specific laws issued by the regulator. They are not public — but are FOIAble if you know what to look for — sometimes.
Then the big companies have another advantage: the force of law to force different regulations on their smaller competitors and legally protected lower costs, lower safety or other regs for their specific operation.
Since the airlines have been self-regulating (See former DOT OIG Mary Schiavo’s book: Flying Blind) they have largely completely blown off regulatory compliance since the FAA barely checks and no longer audits – at all. If they do get caught, one single fine is a small price to pay – less than 1% — of what they saved by cheating.
When they can’t get a LODA — then they twist the facts into a ridiculous sounding example and fund a well-intentioned lobbyist or non-profit to sell the ‘over-regulated- argument.
A totally, completely different issue is the authority of the exec agencies. They have too much authority – beyond constitutional limits. That is why they can give a free pass to their friends and harass their victims — because the agencies are not held accountable for their decisions. Repeal Chevron deference and you solve a lot of problems. Without accountability or limits to their power (deference to their biased, ad hoc, runaway decisions) the exec agencies have untrammeled power.

Exactly. After the 737 MAx lawsuits we all watched carefully to see what would happen to the FAA policy of allowing manufacturers and operators to self-inspect and self-report.
Result — rollback for manufacturers only. Count on the product liability trial bar for that. Products liability is an easy case due to standard of proof = absolute.
But, like cars, airplanes are in pretty good shape when they roll off assembly line. It’s years of heavy use and cutting corners on maintenance that creates the biggest safety problem and the FAA has not even hinted at rolling back airlines and operators ability to self-regulate and self-report.
And those exec agencies are the ones who have to get the hammer from the next administration. Just hammer them!

One such way is to call out Schumer on his word. The other day he said there would be an “open, free discussion of amendments.” That provides a fulcrum – call him out on it and have all the Senators against it off a string of amendments. The longer we can delay it, the greater the chance we can defeat it.

Calling Congress and redpilling their aides is a very worthy endeavor. I’m sure Trump looked at the polling for those 2 before he endorsed. If Trump had endorsed Rosendale and he lost the Senate seat, they would be blaming Trump instead of Rosendale for not being able to pull off a win. He said he would Endorse Rosendale if he runs for his old seat.
Trump doesn’t do endorsements when it looks obvious Rosendale can’t win. It’s not like he wouldn’t want Rosendale but it is not helpful to hurt his own “endorsement” Brand when avoidable. That’s why people get really puzzled with some of PT’s endorsements. Part of his strategy when it comes to looking like he has control over the republican party.
Its NOT primarily the POLLING, that insures Rosedale won’t win, and therefore PDJT won’t endorse.

At SOME point, the forgotten man and woman, who just want to be left alone, are going to be forced by circumstances to accept the reality, that all of these words on paper, laws, contracts, etc. mean absolutely NOTHING,, and that pursueing a “legal” path to resolving our issues with elites who wish us dead, is absurd.
Should Joe Biden be ousted now for poor memory, or should he be left to finish his term? There is a difference of opinion on the right, with some saying that given his disability the Democratic Party should own him to the end as just deserts. Since the occupant is dragging them down, the right should make no move to help the Dems out of their pickle.
I think MAGA can win by spitting the Democrats, cleaving off disaffected constituencies, namely blacks, hispanics, young people, and union trades workers. Joe Biden has already achieved the task of demoralizing these constituencies, the right needs merely to continue reminding them of it.
There is a very good reason for the right to help oust Joe Biden now. Doing so will overturn any idea that the election of 2020 was legitimate. People will agree the presidential election was stolen by the Democrats, and the proof will be that Joe Biden was subsequently removed. In this context, electoral reforms will be mandatory.
If Joe Biden is left in office to the end of his term, despite his dementia, Democrats will argue that the election of 2020 was perfectly fair, nothing about our elections is broken, and no substantial electoral reforms are necessary. In other words, they will continue to rig elections to cement power, and we will live with the risk of Joe Biden’s random acts in his remaining months.
So not removing Joe Biden now sets as much of a precedent as acting to remove him. I would prefer the latter. In Joe Biden’s case, whether by impeachment or 25th Amendment, either mode of removal would work. It is a good thing that we Americans recognize our mistakes and correct them. It is a good thing that we recognize the truth and act on it, even if we were deceived for a time. Let us not be too perturbed by what may come after. Joe Biden’s erstwhile successor will probably not sway this election.
I think there’s a problem with replacing him as a candidate. It’s pretty much too late to have someone else jump in to the primaries. They would have to boot him at the convention and that requires some technical maneuvering with delegates. The people controlling Biden, the unelected people who are acting as President, do not want to let go of power and I believe the delegates are loyal to those people. If I were Biden I would worry about my safety at this point because I think only an emergency would allow them to easily replace him at this point. He might want to hire some food testers.
It could be too late for the Democrats. I agree with that.
The same Powers that be will remain in control, with or without Biden or a Biden look-alike as their veneer.

Kamala Harris is a Hobson’s Choice. Presented that way, we appear to be choosing her or choosing to do nothing at all, in regards to the disabled state of Joe Biden. In fact, we are choosing to impeach Joe Biden, or remove him using the 25th Amendment, versus maintaining the status quo.
In this fraught situation, I would argue taking action is far better than doing nothing. Goethe said, “Once you move, then Providence moves also.” Doing nothing is how a people lose their rights, if not their lives. So action to remove Joe Biden would necessarily effect a realignment of the “powers that be,” and that could very well be to our advantage. If the Democrats serve up Kamala Harris, then so be it. It would be an exquisite agony for them and rightly amusing, I am sure.
When your enemy is making a mistake, never interfere.
We should do absolutely nothing – if the Dims want him out, then THEY should be forced to do so. His continued presence gives us a stronger lever for bringing the Dims former slaves into the freedom fold than would be present if he was ousted. Further, only his own cabinet members and VP can remove him using the 25th amendment.
The Dims will argue the elections were perfectly fair regardless of what occurs with their dementia addled ‘leader’. Further, there is an overwhelming mountain of evidence regarding the 2020 election and it has done absolutely nothing to put a dent into the collective consciousness of the left.
Let him hang like a millstone around their necks.
