Retired Magistrate here: I am very pro Israel; however, I don’t want to fund them. Israel can take care of itself if the United States just lets them do what they are capable of doing.
In my opinion all the money being sent to Israel would be better spent on our Veterans, many of whom are homeless and have various emotional and mental health issues and defending our own border.
Also, I don’t know how much of the money this country sends to Israel ends up on the hands of the people who really need it. I am constantly getting reports from various Jewish groups who are headquartered in Israel requesting money for elderly Jews that have immigrated to Israel and their pensions are so small they are without heat and food. The same thing for IDF members; they need supplies, and food. So where is the money going. Must be another money laundering operation just like Ukraine.

a. why isn’t it paid back with interest?
b. does the money actually go to arms and training and military resources?
c. why is there never a specific tangible goal elaborated and debated and made KNOWN to the public from the President/Congress?
d. Why does the CIA have the power to dole out billions to arm allies and others? What law and regulation allows this? Why does the President have the power to enable private secret wars?
It’s not necessarily the Billions spent (I certainly do have a fiscal complaint about that), but rather the manner, the means, the power, and the lack of transparency.
We need only to look at iraq, afghanistan, korea and vietnam before that…and now ukraine…does anyone believe the money shifted to these shithole countries was well spent? or was more than likely as we are know awakened to the reality of grift and graft that most of this money is simply a means to launder and racketeering to cronies and direct family members of congress and state department, dod and homeland, as well as the president and his staff?

During the pandemic, it focused much of its attention on branding anyone who said COVID came from a lab in Wuhan as racist and xenophobic.
The Penn Biden Center is awash in Chinese money. During the period between Biden stepping down as Vice-President and his election as President the Center received $61 million from Beijing. It does not account for the source of these funds as required by law. It has refused multiple requests to explain how it gets all this money from China or what it does in exchange for the cash.
The Penn Biden Center never criticizes Chinese policy. It shamelessly repeats the blatant lies of the Chinese Communists on every topic.
The Penn Biden Center is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. It was established around Joe Biden after he left the Vice-Presidency. The classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center were in unlocked, uncontrolled spaces. No one can really tell you who brought them there or when. Everything about how the documents got there and why remains murky. Visitor logs for the Penn Biden Center for the time period during which Joe was there were not made available to the Special Counsel.
Among the documents found was a folder marked “Eyes Only” with the additional notation “VPOTUS.” “Eyes Only” is a designator used to refer to highly classified documents, which are intended to be seen only by specific individuals. It wouldn’t have happened with a Golden or other, friendlier breed. This is why, despite their high intelligence, they aren’t used much as guide dogs for the blind. Too many incidents going out-of-bounds to “protect” their owners.
(I trained service dogs for a decade, to benefit various physical disabilities. We were taught a lot about traits by breed.)

Thank you for this. It bothers me greatly when people think all dogs are born a blank slate and only develop a personality based on how they are raised. Dogs were bred in order to develop different traits and personalities. It is partly nature and partly nurture. Lloyd Austin has been taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for symptoms “suggesting an emergent bladder issue,” and administration officials have been notified, the Pentagon said Sunday.
Austin was taken by his security detail to the hospital at approximately 2:20 p.m., Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, said in a statement.
At this point, Austin has not been admitted to the hospital.
The White House and Congress have been notified of the hospital visit, as have the deputy defense secretary and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.
“We will provide an update on Secretary Austin’s condition as soon as possible,” Ryder said.
As of now, Austin retains the duties of his office, Ryder said, though Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks is ready to assume the duties if required. Austin traveled to the hospital with unclassified and classified communications systems that are required for his duties.

The shooter at pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church was a woman between 30 and 35 years of age who was armed with a long gun and accompanied by a child, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner told reporters at a Sunday news conference.
“She is deceased here on the scene,” Finner said.
The child is approximately 4 to 5 years old, according to the chief. Once the woman entered the church, she began to fire, he said. Two off-duty police officers engaged the shooter and struck her.
“Unfortunately, the 5 year-old kid was hit and is in critical condition at a local hospital,” Finner said. “There was a 57-year-old man who didn’t have anything to do with it, I don’t think, who was shot in the leg. He’s seeking treatment in the hospital.”

About six years ago, a neighbor of mine–sympathetic and ignorant Christian woman–took a family of Iraqis into her 3-4 bedroom home in a small Oregon town. One in three German manufacturers is considering moving production to other countries amid economic troubles, double the number recorded in 2022, Bild news outlet reported on Saturday, citing Siegfried Russwurm, the head of the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
According to the report, among the latest firms planning to relocate is household appliance manufacturer Miele, which plans to cut 2,000 jobs in Germany and move 700 positions to its site in Poland. Heating manufacturer Viessmann had already moved 3,000 jobs to Poland.
Volkswagen said last year that it would build a new battery factory in the US, and BASF announced plans to invest €10 billion in a petrochemicals plant in China amid job cuts at its headquarters in Germany. French steel pipe manufacturer Vallourec shut down production in Germany in September last year, while tiremaker Michelin and its US rival Goodyear said they would also close their German plants by the end of 2025.
Russwurm says that a growing number of companies have reported that their “patience with Germany is at an end.” According to him, the slowdown in economic growth and high rates of inflation, especially with regard to energy, have resulted in less investment, and Berlin lacks a strategy to turn the situation around. This in turn leads to a gradual decline in manufacturing, he said, and while existing production lines may continue to operate for a while, “new ones are no longer being built in Germany.”
Many companies point to the high energy prices, which soared after Germany lost access to Russian natural gas in 2022, as one of the major causes of their problems. This was exacerbated by Berlin’s decision to phase out nuclear energy and coal and switch to renewables, which, according to Russwurm, put manufacturers working in Germany at a significant disadvantage compared to other industrialized nations.
“Nobody can say with any certainty today what our energy supply will look like in seven years’ time, and that’s why no one can say how high energy prices will be in Germany then. For companies that have to make investment decisions, that is absolutely toxic,” he said in an interview with the Financial Times earlier this week, adding that the government is making mistakes regarding its energy policy with its ambitious climate agenda, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 and switch 80% of power output to wind and solar energy by 2030.
“Companies are saying they are finding it increasingly difficult to do any long-term planning. They have great doubts about continuing to invest in Germany under these conditions. The conditions are better elsewhere. And they’re going abroad,” Russwurm said.

I don’t know how many times we can say this, but it’s too late for Newsom or anyone else to run as time has run out in 44 states to get on the presidential ballot for 2024. The other 6 will soon follow.
He won’t need to get on a ballot… it will happen at the Convention.
He needs to get on the general election ballot. As I said, the time has closed for that in most states. A political party’s convention does not override state election rules.
Hubert Humphrey did not win a single primary election in 1968, but he was on the ballot in every state during the primaries, so the convention could legally nominate him. Not so with Newsom and others.
That’s not the plan.
Biden has to make it to the Convention, then he steps down due to health and his replacement is installed.
If he steps down at the convention, then Harris becomes President, and since she is already on the ballot with Biden, she is qualified in every state. Newsom and others are not.
Harris is ineligible for the Presidency.

For curiosity sake, I looked up bus routes from Del Rio TX crossing to my Montana town and wouldn’t you know, they have a one way, 3 day trip that drops people off in our Walmart parking lot. I usually avoid the store but I was shopping at Walmart last Sunday for some things I really needed. It was late and not very busy, but, I would say that more than 50% of the people in the store were not speaking English.
