I thought seriously about just trashing the recipe post when the first comment, and three of the first eight, were gripes and snark. Especially after I made a point of letting people know our party is about family, not football. But, I would really enjoy some fun and food recipes, and there are a few people left here who can enjoy these posts, and others who have the class not to ruin things if they aren’t in the mood.
This isn’t sarcasm here. Yes, I am mad. But apparently there is a need for a place to just blow off steam. I may actually do this second post every time I do any other post at all.
If you don’t like football, Taylor Swift, Kansas City or San Fran, or any other thing that puts a bee in your bonnet, here’s your place.
Blow off steam but keep it clean. This is not a place for you to bestow your nastiest vocabulary on us.
And please, consider letting the rest of us enjoy some normal.
I HATE SOCCER!!!!!!
+1000
HA!!!! There ya go!
Worth putting up the thread. 😀
LOL!!!!! I just had to get it out!!!!
Sending you a virtual beer.
TY, Joe!!! Already scarfed!
And they try to shove it down our throats!
Completely Anti-American. Was the start of the invasion. Decades ago.
The invaders beat up the cops.
No big deal, the invaders are protected by the JoBama regime, and financed by our tax dollars.

You do know that it was brought here by Lamar Hunt?
Another KC Chief’s fan… like Taylor.
I am a YUGE Lamar Hunt fan.

“Fastest growing team sport in America”
Might have something to do with every city, township, village having a baseball, football, basketball, and hockey team already. Pssst, keep any eye on cricket….. It’s gonna be big.
For eating or playing?
Me also WSB and I want a participation award…..for yelling!!
!
All Mexican people Heart Soccer! United!!! Love God & Family more though….
This is why we are America, and they are Mexico.
That’s how they get their kicks in Mexico 🙂
Touché!
Panama too!
Sadly … you’re ignoring my UFO video … so I’ll stalk you until you tell me to piss off …
hahahaha, absolutely not .. i hadn’t seen it yet because the first page of the open thread crashes on my phone .. it does every day after there’s been alot of posts.. so i watched it from here. i like it.
I figured as much … or figured you had something better to do than lurk around on CTH. 😜😂
Actually the Mexican fans bring baggies into the stadium … urinate into them and throw them at the American players. I don’t consider that a football fan. I consider that subhuman.
Don’t you dare speak for all Mexican people.
Football lost a lot of them with the woke
Oh! Oh! Oh! Bumper sticker: “I HATE SOCCER” We’re gonna be rich!
Have we started a movement?
Am there is spirit…my car would get ‘keyed’ where I work….
Sorry … not exactly an original thought
Good thoughts stick.
Why do commies love soccer?
For all the wrong reasons.
The history of soccer, ( football) is closely aligned with the industrialists of the U.K. and then it quickly spread to the continent of Europe.
The wealthy owned the teams ( as is the case today) back then in the late 19th century all the clubs were from the industrial north of England, the midlands or Scotland.
The wealthy wanted something to keep the poor occupied and distracted from their misery.
Cheers!
Dekester, you are a gem!
Bread and circuses…whether American Football or dumb soccer…never seem to go out of style!
Circuses is accurate. One needs look no further than the Messi scam in Miami.
Cheers!
Now THAT sounds like a communist analysis of the sport. The fact that virtually every town and hamlet in England sports a team … not to mention every Pub in England … the sport is far closer to THE PEOPLE than American football would ever hope to be
Go figure. Every school, city, village, college has a football team in America. From the mites and midgets up to professional. Football is very close to Americans.
Fair enough, but it is accurate.
Bolton, Preston,Bradford etc were once top tier clubs.
Bolton and Preston are in Lancashire and Bradford is in Yorkshire.
All three were a major part of the industrial revolution.
Up in Scotland religion was a big part of it too.
In Glasgow.
Celtic and Rangers were formed around 1888 one Catholic the other Protestant.
My resume is unimportant, but I have played and coached at a decent level, and know the collegiate soccer program well.
Professional soccer is now like your sports…playthings for billionaires.
Cheers!
And so far … the Saudi Billionaires have only been able to woo has-beens to the desert to play. Otherwise … best they buy Man United … and try to fix THAT mess that money hasn’t been able to fix
They own Newcastle United.
Qataris are involved in the EPL too.
UAE as well..
Actually several tremendous players are in the Saudi league. Just not that many.
Saudi Arabia are getting a World Cup of soccer soon. 😂😂
Money talks…look at Jon Rahm and the LIV Golf tour..he signed for a few hundred million.
Cheers!
Funny … I am more conservative than most everyone on this site. And I love international football.
I like international football and played soccer for years. I am of scandinavian descent.
You can’t blame the invasion of soccer only on the Mexicans.
I have no problem with people hating soccer. I hate the US women’s soccer team. What a bunch of brainwashed progressives.
Sports figures should stick to their sport and leave the politics to the politicians.
I liked it enough to watch when Hope Solo was the goalie in the Olympics.
The rest of my life?
I hate soccer.
I never even got that far.
I HATE women’s soccer … esp. when the American media implies that it’s the same sport as men’s soccer. You might as well be comparing soccer to bad mitten. Imagine a woman’s American football team … all nasty bull dykes with pink hair … how do you think they’d stand up to say … The KC Chiefs? Yeah, the same is true in comparing American men’s soccer to women’s soccer … it’s a joke.
And that’s coming from a man who coached competitive girls soccer teams, whose own daughter was a midfielder captain of her college team. Sorry … it’s not even CLOSE to men’s soccer.
Dunno. I kinda like this one.
Heh heh … heh heh … you showed a shuttlecock … heh heh
Our local U 15 metro ( a good but not top Provincial Team) team of boys drew 2-2 with the Canadian National woman’s team in the woman’s build up to an international event. 😂😂
I LOVE PLAYING SOCCER!!!!
I guess it beats attempting to watch it.
Kickball
All team pro sports are rigged.
One would be a fool or “ numbingly naive “ to think otherwise.
The poster is correct. Internet gambling is a massive player.
Asian soccer leagues were large participants early on in the internet gambling scam.
It is all about the money…and not chump change either.
Cheers!
It was referred to a “commie roundball” by Vince Lombardi.
A glorified game of “keep away” where there is little scoring.
LOL!
I grew up with Vince Lombardi … loved him. But ignorance isn’t just the purview of the weak. Many a powerful man is ignorant as hell … just look at our Congress
Lombardi knew enough!
I’ll never understand why anybody watches all that work of the players just to have it end in a tie. Huh? Very dumb.
Low-scoring goofball.
Basketball would be the opposite.
I stopped watching when the players became a foot taller but the baskets remained at the same height.
I stopped watching basketball when the league chose a golden player … like Lebron … and never called him for “traveling” and always called fouls against him … and still he whined like a little girl
That started with MJ
Yes, but I dared not mention Saint Michael in the same complaint
I hate watching commercials every time out, err I hate watching modern football … time out … every two minutes, every change of possession, every TV timeout, every minute of the game. Who invented a game that stops every other play? That’s not a game … it’s one long timeout to give your Board of Directors in the booth a chance to call another play. That’s not sport …
But Taylor likes it!
It does give her LOTS of FaceTime. Far more than is healthy for anyone
Three to 4 hours to play a 60 minute game. And, of that 60 minutes, there is probably less than 30 minutes of actual action and 30 minutes of guys standing around while the clock ticks down.
Now basketball is really dumb. Every close game comes down to a foul shooting contest. Why not just scrap the game and go right to the foul shooting?
Then there is hockey. A 60 minute game where all 60 minutes matter. When the clock it ticking, the action is on.
Totally agreed on Hockey … yet it’s gone utterly woke as well
I must admit, I am having far too much fun with you all weighing in!
We need a new Managerie Ta-Ta, hockey, basketball, whatever.
I hate the flops in Soccer the most. But hey, the 0-0 ties are awesome.
Good one!
FIFA has all but ended flopping with stricter refereeing that penalizes flopping, and if you actually knew anything intelligent about the power p, force, and speed, of the men’s sport … you’d know that the tackles can be season-ending, if not career ending. I’ve seen some horrific leg breaks.
Also … the only place you’ll see many Nil-Nil ties is during the World Cup when most teams play a very defensive game … because of elimination rules.
SMH.
Also known as the Socialist Game.
I tend to agree with you WSB, it is Yuge in Europe and elsewhere. I only watch Tennis, used to watch Hockey, now only the Play Offs!!
Indeed! The United States of America is an EXCEPTIONAL nation. WE have LITTLE TO DO with EUROPE.
Menagerie – I love your recipe posts and usually try to contribute something to them…and while I do understand your frustration at your thread being “highjacked” I have to make a comment regarding WHY some people feel so passionately about this issue.
I am the mother of a police officer, who was put through the wringer in the riots of 2020, and who today is working in a vastly understaffed department, which only increases the chances that he, or one of his squadmates, could be seriously injured or even killed in the line of duty. On top of that, every officer I know is constantly being scrutinized and second guessed by both hostile politicians and and an uninformed public, many of whom believe the crap said about all LEOs, and which is rampant in the MSM!
MUCH of this hostility dates back to 2016/2017 when Colin Kapernick started his “kneeling for the National Anthem” protests, which then spread through the NFL. One of the worst racial grievance “victims” was Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks, who was a good player with a VERY bad attitude and who constantly tried to stir the pot. In late August 2017 he was in Las Vegas when a “Shots fired” call came out at one of the large casinos and, naturally, dozens of officers arrived to secure the scene. (Some people have speculated that this was a false alarm/trial run for the mass shooting that happened on October 1st in order to see what the response level would be.) Anyway, rather than staying down and staying put, as the responding officers ordered ALL patrons to do, Bennett decided to duck behind slot machines and try to make his way to the exit, in a “furtive manner” as shown by surveillance video. He was stopped by three officers (one black and two Hispanic) as he ran out of the casino, taken to the ground, and then handcuffed and taken to a patrol car for ten minutes while his identity was verified, after which he was released. Should have been the end of the story but Bennett instead LIED about what happened, denied his OWN actions (which were what led to his detainment) and flat out said that he was threatened by the officers, posting this diatribe on his social media account: “Las Vegas police officers singled me out and pointed their guns at me for doing nothing more than simply being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time.” The entire Seahawks organization, including Coach Pete Carroll and Quarterback Russell Wilson held a press conference THAT DAY, supporting their teammate and denouncing “racist police officers”.
Three weeks later, after a thorough investigation, the Sheriff’s Department held a press conference showing almost 20 minutes of security footage and video, which PROVED that Michael Bennett had LIED about the whole incident and that the officers had done nothing wrong! But the damage was done and I believe the “war on police” went up several notches stemming from THIS specific incident…
Did Bennett, or ANY of the members of the Seahawks (or the entire media apparatus that had pushed his story) apologize? Absolutely NOT! Did their refusal to acknowledge that Bennett had discounted his OWN actions as the reason for his being detained promote the falsehood that police officers are simply racists looking to harm/kill minorities? ABSOLUTELY!!
So, I haven’t watched an NFL game since and probably never will again…if the Bud Light situation showed us anything, it is that if enough of us simply refuse to support companies and industries which are destroying the fabric of our society through deception and woke policies, then we CAN make a difference!
On point – and that’s not a bitch or gripe, it’s just the facts.
I remember that episode clearly and you have described it perfectly.
Once upon a time, my daughter was asked if her mother liked football.
She answered, “My mother watches football like a man.”
She wasn’t wrong…
When I was much younger my office was next door to where Tom Landry held his press conferences, and I would sneak out to listen. Ernie Stautner befriended me, and we would often breakfast together in the restaurant on the opposite side of the office where I worked.
Good, good times…
Something changed since then with the ethos of football.
I no longer watch because I no longer care about it.
Do I miss it?
Not one tiny bit…
Betsy! I never knew! Ha ha…I could see the dome to the old Cowboys Stadium from my dormitory on Inwood Rd.
Whoa!!!! I used to live on Inwood Road!!! In the 70s! Near Love Field…
I have never really watched football, but was in the room when a game was on. I attended Superbowl parties and enjoyed the food. I rooted for a team depending on the city name. ALWAYS rooted against Washington DC even then. And then Tim Tebow came along. He was openly Christian, openly American. I watched him come in when the starting QB was injured, saw him take Denver to the play offs all the while listening to the sports media trash him.
The following year Denver traded him, the sorry ingrates, I think for an aging Peyton Manning.
No other team wanted him. The guy who had taken Denver to the playoffs couldn’t get a gug. Like Hollywood, football wasn’t about merit, it was about kissing Democrat rings. All because he wasn’t a left wing loon and gave thanks after a game.
Colon (sic) Karpernick sealed it for us.
Living well is the best revenge. Tim is doing that with a lovely wife and family. And is living his faith by helping children through his foundation. God’s plan for him? I think so…he is blooming where he has been planted.
God bless him 🙏🏻
https://timtebowfoundation.org/
Six degrees of separation. My stepfather knew Tom Landry when he coached for the Giants back in the 50’s and he also knew Ernie Stautner. Also, I have a friend in Texas who’s a good friend of Tim Tebow. Texas and football is like biscuits and butter.
When I was young, the Army-Navy game was always a big deal as my father was a Naval Academy graduate. I helped my mother make the food. When my sons were young, they played pee-wee football. soccer, and baseball. They were ardent Redskins fans. Later they became Ravens fans. We watched those games on TV. I made the food. When our team lost, my stepfather would remind us, “It’s just a game. Enjoy it. Your team will play again.” He was from Texas and played football there in high school and college.
You are so right, Betsy — the NFL has changed. It’s a heartless corporation now.
The teams, however, are not mini-NFL clones. Each team has its own quality and character as do each of the players in those teams. You can tell what players have team spirit, play with all their heart, and are having fun.
For me, watching a football game is fun. But I won’t be watching the Super Bowl because my team won’t be playing.
I’ll still be making food because, for me, cooking (with music playing) is even more fun.
Many I know gave up football when Kapernick did his thing and never went back. Speaking of Bud Light .. I was in a Walmart store recently, beer stacked in big displays so it was easy to find for Superbowl Sunday. Bud Light had not had one carton removed, still stacked high. I hope it stays that way. AB thinks they can change minds again. I wish them luck.
Wish them, BAD luck…
This isn’t a gripe, but more of a wake up call. I was a loyal Seahawks fan since they became a franchise. When Russel Wilson took the team to the Super Bowl, I watched the game from ICU in the hospital with a friend who had a breathing tube down his throat and was fighting for his life. The Seahawks won and my friend survived another 6 weeks until passing.
At that point and time and thereafter I had different priorities in my life, and football isn’t one of them.
My parents were season ticket holders from the beginning of the franchise – back in the “Zorn to Largent” days in the old Kingdome (where my brother played in the High School Championship “Kingbowl” in 1978).
I was thrilled when Russell Wilson arrived – a supposedly humble, hardworking Christian, who hung out at Children’s Hospital on his day off, visiting kids with cancer. But after the first Super Bowl win, and his first marriage ended, something definitely changed! And when he called an audible in the next Super Bowl, rather than pass the ball to Marshawn Lynch as was expected, I lost a LOT of respect for him (especially because he never admitted that he had changed the play and let Darrell Blevins, the OC, take the blame instead.)
But after he married Ciara, he turned HARD Left, and his play deteriorated noticeably. When the incident happened in 2017, and he came out immediately blaming the officers, I was DONE!! And honestly, seeing his career fall apart now does not break my heart in the least – sorry if that sounds harsh but I am very tired of these spoiled multimillionaires who think they should be able to tell the rest of us how to live when almost none of them practice anything they preach!!
AGREE!!! Started calling him Russy Willnot after he signed his 1st big contract. Lost all interest in watching nearly all NFL after the whole kneeling farce but the nail in the Seahawks coffin was when Pete Carroll did his BLM trash. The only game we’ve watched, while hoping against Seattle, was with the Rams because of Cooper Kupp, an Eastern Washington kid. Never watched any games when he was injured
russel did not call the play…the asshat who got fired there after (son of a chief)
Actually, according to an interview that Marshawn Lynch gave this past year, Wilson was the one who changed the play, possibly because he wanted to get MVP and prevent Lynch from getting the credit for scoring the winning touchdown.
It evidently caused a LOT of bad blood among the players because Russell was becoming known as a prima dona and when he refused to admit his role in losing the game, he lost a lot of respect from his teammates… Maybe that’s when the O line decided to stop protecting him so well?
His first wife was his LOYAL girlfriend for years … and he dumped her like a cheap suit. Sorry, I can’t muster an ounce of respect for “men” like that
yes….am sorry your friend passed….every day is truly a gift. And there ARE things more important…
You are right and I don’t want to speak for Menagerie but she clearly indicated in the post that the quest for recipes was not about the super bowl. She was not advocating for people to watch the Superbowl. Her first sentence was “Like a lot of people, I quit watching the Super Bowl some time ago.
If the angry responders had taken the time to actually read what she wrote there would have been no misunderstanding. I don’t think there is a person posting on this board who does not understanding what the NFL has become. I personally was never a fan of most sports, and I was lucky enough to marry a man who is not into sports either, so the super bowl hype has always gone unnoticed in my household. Even Rush who was an avid Steelers fan gave up on the game. If the politics was too much for El Rushbo you know it’s bad.
I have noticed a high degree of impoliteness around here lately and most of it is uncalled for. Don’t like someone asking for recipes for their family gathering – regardless of the occasion? Then ignore the thread altogether. We are not of the left. We do not need to signal our virtue. We don’t need to prove our personal purity. I have found in my own life that sometimes it’s just best scroll on by.
I tried to explain that I love Menagerie’s recipe posts and was NOT trying to jump on her, but that for some of us, this is a really personal issue and that was all I was trying to say…
I don’t think you jumped on me. Like I said above, I understand. But a recipe thread is no not the place for stuff like some of the comments.
I happen to adore your recipe threads and have learned quite a bit!!! TY, Menagerie!
You are so right! Menagerie made it clear that the post was about Food, Family and Fun. Her disclaimer at the start of the post was clear that her family does not gather ’round the tube for the game, but they cook, eat and visit.
People did not READ it….
Thank you! Exactly.
Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
I understand and respect everything you said. And I did before I wrote the post. I still do not think it’s too much to ask for people to keep their gripes to themselves and pass by a post they don’t like, or have nothing to contribute to. Not every post requires your opinion.
Just like the discussion elsewhere about guests who complain about the meal they are served, or how it is prepared. You don’t have to voice an opinion on everything in this life.
Respect, dignity, and class go a long way in knowing when to talk and when to be silent.
Yet arguing the facts can be enlightening to the closed minded. 🙂
Oh my! If Sundance had a Comment Hall of Fame this would be among the top! I have read many of your posts over the years, Vikingmom, always cogent and on point. Give that Son of yours a hug for me. On second thought since it’s from me maybe just a handshake! (Just sayin’! ) But tell him there are folks who appreciate and respect the job he and his colleagues do for us.
And yes it’s been many years since I have watched a professional ball game. Between Kaepernick disrespecting the flag and the Baseball strike of ’72 I decided I really didn’t need to “Watch millionaires playing a kids game” as My Grandpa used to say. I’m an 80 year old Navy Vet. I remember the 1970’s.
Thank you for your service! And thank you for your kind comment! 😊
Corporations never apologize for anything….must be something in the lawfare of “corporate law”? What a terrible situation for the LEO’s.
Bud is trying to make nice…apparently, the Clydesdales are being heavily marketed for the Super Bowl, again….?
Wonder if they will have puppies in the commercials? I refuse to watch it to find out.
Thank you
The NFL got too big. It’s glory days wained after the Joe Montana years.
Now it’s awful. The commissioner and owners have ruined it with politics and social justice crapola.
Vince Lombardi is spinning in his grave.
Its fixed why Gambling and humans involved….
No No No. Dan Marino.
Sayyyyy … did Dan ever marry? … a woman?
I stopped watching the NFL when they started allowing players to put a knee down to our flag. I used to watch a lot of games. Not any more.
Now they sing the “black” anthem
I hope some whitey football player takes a knee during that
Without reading them, I agree with almost all the issues about which treepers have a gripe.
I think it’s great that you thought to add this, the news is oppressive and worrisome 24/7, it’s not a bad thing to have an occasional release with our compatriots.
I’m a vegetarian and even I thought your barbecue looked good.
I will comment as an historical sports / football junkie. I have evolved to ignore the games 97% + of the time.
My complaint is the players have evolved to more muscle, weight and speed while the skeletal structure and brain protection has not kept pace. Thus the brutal nature of the game has become who will limp or be carried off the field next. Certainly after a competitive college career and 5 years as a pro, the average player has physical a cognitive deficits to last a lifetime.
With this as my background belief, the game is no longer watchable.
Super Bowl Parties are also a once a year gathering that collects friends from all parts of the country and are a celebration.
The quality of play has gone way down. They can’t tackle, run the wrong routes, drop balls and line up off sides. Then there is the referee flag throwing contest. I think gambling runs the NFL these days.
And add an hour to each game for referees reviewing plays and chatting with each other about said reviews.
Too many commercials.
And ridiculously longggggggggg commercials .
Ya know … I remember when WR’s actually put moves on db’s to get open … now they just run in straight lines trying to find a seam in the zone. Meh. What skill does that take?
Case in point … Freddy Bilitnikof
Under Biden’s malignant regime, our beloved America is no longer recognizable. With Barack Obama’s shadow government in control at the White House, he has succeeded in fundamentally transforming America, as he promised to do.
Obama #1 racist ever in America worse then Sharpton Farahan and Jackson my black friends said he made it worse set racism back 50 years…
I despise that arrogant ass Obama… Malato….
No gripes. Recipe. You’re going to need something quick and warm while you’re firing up whatever. CINAMMON FLOP [Amish]. 1 cup sugar, 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 cup milk, brown sugar, cinammon, butter for top. Sift dry ingredients together. Add butter and milk and stir until blended. By hand. Amish don’t use electric gadgets. Divide between 2 9″ well greased pie or cake pans (I add parchment). Sprinkle top with a flour (a bit), brown sugar and cinammon. Push chunks of butter into dough. Bake 30 mins at 350. On a cold morning with a nice tea or coffee…YUM.
That sounds soooo yummy. Will try it tonight and eat 😋 it all. Will not share. ( I know I’m Bad)
I used to love the Olympics but Woke Communists destroyed the Olympics.
Totally agree. Cannot even remember when I watched a single event.
Drugged Commies did it in for me…
Ditto, the Academy Awards
Now … the Olympics are hosted in Communist hell holes where no sane person wants to visit. Empty stands. That’s somehow more … inclusive.
I still like the swimming competition in the summer Olympic games. I can leave the opening and closing ceremonies for the woke rubbish they have become, but some of the competition is remarkable. Kim Rhode, in skeet and trap, is really amazing to watch if you can find her. They never interview her for some reason.
I think the magic of the Olympics went away when they split it up, alternating between Summer and Winter. It used to be a rare and special event, but it soon became just another sports game. And it was so obviously an accounting decision and not a sports decision, it left a bad taste in my mouth, and probably many others as well.
For me, it was also the endless “human interest” stories about all the athletes – how his father was a mailman and his mother was a coalminer’s daughter or something, and how the athlete worked two jobs after school on the way to practice and his dog was hit by a car and his little sister has some rare disease yada yada yada. I came here to see some Giant Slalom and some bobsledding. Let’s get to it.
Guilty as charged!
I blow off steam here sometimes, thank you all l for your compassion, understanding, and forgiveneness.
YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY MAKES ME MAD????!!!!
Nuthin’. Life is too short to be mad.
Gotta go check my beer-marinating chicken soon-to-be turned into chicken/jalapeno/grilled corn quesadillas.
Y’all enjoy the day. Or the week. The year, even. Life is good.
Someone break Chuck Schumer’s finger off and shove it up the Turtle’s arsehole.
if living your best life cannot be accomplished without watching a globallist game on tv, perhaps it’s time to take a step back to reprioritize and reevaluate what in life is really of importance
Judge much?
i thought i was opining on a message board populated by adults with differing opinions
👏👏👏👏
I like Chiefs football, and have for decades
and many juice liked trains until, well, you know…

“Pro” sports if 98% overpaid THUGS. You can go downtown and see the same thing, AND (maybe) survive…
Bread and circuses!!
Commercials that go to too many areas of the body with dance, singing, and fast narrations.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for All you do here at the Treehouse. My branch is beloved to me…times they are a trying! Stay strong and God bless.
I HATE Everything liberals stand for.
I hate Liberals.
Yeah well, I try to make a concerted effort to direct my hatred towards the things people(liberals) do as opposed to the people themselves. Jesus commands it.
“STOP THE HATE!” Sarc
I remember during the anti Trump protests seeing all the signs “Stop the Hate” in an ocean of “F-ck Trump!” signs, lol. If I was that un-self aware, I’d shoot myself.
Still makes me laugh. Liberals are morons.
Double dog dittos, me too.
What I loathe the most is their incessant moral posturing. They hide the moral depravity of opening our borders behind moral posturing of “caring for poor people” and calling anyone who disagrees racists.
Leftists are scum. Full stop. Pick just one top level congressional Democrat who’s not a lying, thieving, baby butchering, commie, perverted, racist, piece of shjt. I’ll wait.
Break dancing and skateboarding are now Olympic sports. Karate and baseball are out. Arrrrggghhh
Wow. More gripes than recipes. Hmm…
The recipes are mouthwatering and I always find much fun on the recipe thread.
That said the B&G thread here is also fun —full of light-hearted and quirky and heartfelt sharing.
We were avid football fans until Kaepernick politicized it. We immediately stopped watching or following it and haven’t looked back. The NFL supported the politization so F* them too. We will not enrich them by watching on Television.
We don’t need Superbowl to find an excuse to party.
I hate purple haired freaks.
Leave our kids alone!
Don’t forget the light blue haired people also . Awful , just awful.
REEEE!!!!! 😉
A Thin slice of ham
A Thin slice of provelone
2 very thin slices of pepperoni or salami
Strips of roasted peppers
Roll it up, slice into sections, add toothpicks. Voila!
Sports?
I’ve moved on a while ago
from those greedy ungrateful people not worth my time.
I have a new passion that is more rewarding!
Mocking Liberals !
😃
As a young man I bitched about everything, as an old one I find very little to bitch about. Two frustrations I can think of; the inability of most drivers to properly merge, and my inability to always walk circumspectly.
Well Menagerie, I think you may be on to something with this idea.
Put any spice rub you wish on your chicken by under the skin put lemon zest and butter with salt and pepper. Then stuff it with green apple slices and onion slices and orange slices. Smoke it and devour!!!
Bless you, Menagerie ! Yeah, I have spotted a few buzzards and vultures roosting among the branches of our tree from time to time leaving their mark on our beautiful treehouse but be of good cheer. They only attempt to upset you to gain attention. Ignore them, dance in the sunshine and they will tire and leave.
Surprise, surprise!
The Pro-Bowl, what is that?!
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/02/hot-mic-catches-peyton-mannings-son-saying-nfl/
Beurocrats!
Money, it got too big and corrupted
Now gambling is “ok” amd they advertise during the game
There’s a football game at the TS concert this weekend? LOL.
Well now…where to start? LOL…Taylor Swift. Can’t stand her, never have and hate how the psyop is being used to propel her and Fizer Kelce into our faces no matter where we turn. Rankles me to no end.
At 47, and with each passing day I find my righteous anger growing because I no longer recognize the country I love and the State I have always called my home. As we have discussed before, Seattle is a hot dumpster fire of liberal utopia and the creep has eventually found its way to the East side of our beautiful State. We have a legislature that is giving the double bird to our State Constitution and will of the people regarding Initiatives and no amount of calls, emails etc to “elected representatives” appears to do any good. Washington…the State where the Art of the Steal in Ballot was perfected.
I am pissed off at the number of willingly ignorant people that see these “died unexpectedly” stories of healthy individuals under 30 and continue to act as if this has always been normal. I’ve cut so many of these people out of my life because it turns out they made the poor choice to be a sheep and take the clot shot. I am tired of suffering fools.
I absolutely LOATHE liberals with every fiber of my being. I don’t hate them because we are instructed not to hate people by God, but man how my patience is tried daily. We have a government that hates us, despises us and views us as the enemy and yet our options for recourse are becoming more and more narrow with each passing day.
I see it and feel it, as I know many of you do as well, and never imagined in my lifetime to be witnessing any of this. I grow tired physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Even now come quickly, Lord Jesus!
Before Jesus comes, learn to be a happy warrior, because it might be a while.
I read about 200-300 articles a day as a researcher for a radio show.
I see the tide turning in many ways.
100 Million FireAnts – has a long list of all the good recent developments.

Being a “happy warrior” solves nothing. The time for rainbows and butterflies is long past. Having righteous anger and acting accordingly when the time is right is necessary.
As for that link, with all due respect, it is nothing more than bubblegum feel good-ism that is used to appease the masses. Her last line “the whole world is being reborn” uh….no, no it’s not.
That was a great read..Thanks 👍
AMEN!
I will eat almost any Spanish/Mexican dish except gazpacho. My hate for gazpacho is as boundless as is my love for tacos, chilaquiles, burritos, tamales, quesadillas, enchiladas, and chilis of various temperatures.
I’ve asked myself any number of times why this is so, why do I have this intense hatred of gazpacho? A hatred for which there is no rational basis? It’s because I just do.
If the NFL is indeed fixed, and the Taylor Swift/ Travis Kelce romance means my 49ers lose the Super Bowl on a contested call, because it’s “a good story/narrative,” and better for the drug companies Travis Kelce supports as well as Taylor Swift endorsing Joe Biden, I may be forced to stop watching pro football- a remarkable position for a hard core sports fan like me.
I can’t watch the NFL anymore. I’m tired of hearing black multimillionaires complaining of racism when they will make more money in their career than I’ll ever see in twenty lifetimes. I stopped watching the NFL regular season back in 2015 but still watched the Super Bowl. After 2021 when they debuted the “Black” National Anthem I stopped watching the Super Bowl altogether.
This Super Bowl Sunday I’ll continue reading volume one of Shelby Foote’s classic Civil War: A Narrative. That will be far more entertaining and stimulating for my mind than the game.
Went to a Lowe’s looking for a particular item and the announcements in the store were in Spanish. We left without buying anything.
Get on your knees and send in a recipe. Pretty sad Sundance.
You’re welcome to go elsewhere
Beyonce has no class. That’s why she didn’t get Grammy, JayZ. I’m not fond of Tay Tay but at least she can perform a classy show. Just aggravated a typical Obama friend brings up race at every corner. GRRRRR.
Here’s my bitch: The events of the past 15 years, but especially the last three, have turned me into a paranoid.
The water company has installed an external meter, now they want to come inside to disengage the no-longer-in-use meter. Or if it ever causes a problem it will be my responsibility.
After 100 years what’s it likely to do? Is this just a ploy to get inside our house?
Ten years ago I would never have thought twice.
After 100 years what’s it likely to do? Is this just a ploy to get inside our house?
It is a mechanical device, and just like everything else mechanical in this world it’s made of moving parts that will eventually wear out. It will break. Have them remove it, and the responsibility for it, from your house and be done with it. No need at all to be paranoid about it. Rest easy knowing that, going forward, any future issues will be dealt with outside of your home.
I hate all those things…but I love you, Menagerie.
Bread and circuses to distract people and bleed off their aggression. Too much emphasis is put on this type of entertainment.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Get a life…go niners
Menagerie…I am sorry, please forgive me…guilty as charged….
Uh…you noticed I invoked Gibbs Rule #18
I did go back and add my favorite crock pot recipes….
Trump’s Swing State Challenge
Democrat governors in five swing states refuse to protect the integrity of their elections.
https://spectator.org/trumps-swing-state-challenge/
Former President Trump is all but certain to win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and he will defeat President Biden in November — if the voters are allowed to decide the outcome. Though a number of polls show Trump leading in most if not all of the seven states that will be truly competitive this year, only Georgia and North Carolina have enacted meaningful election integrity legislation since the last presidential contest.
The remaining five have doggedly refused to adopt serious reforms that will ensure fair and honest elections. Not coincidentally, they include states that Biden won in 2020 by tiny margins after protracted post-election vote counting.

Shout, shout, let it all out!
