Most, if not all, taxes are unjust. Here in the State of Maine USA, we not only have a tax on all bottles and cans, alcoholic or not, we also have an extra fee (05 cents on “soft drinks” cans and bottles, and 10 or 15 cents per alcoholic cans or bottles, for recycling fees – as if the recycling facility knows which bottles/cans contained alcoholic fluid). We also, in this State, have a “snack tax” charged at the checkout-line for anything “not deemed necessary” such as a bag of crisps(chips), popcorn, already made muffins, other pastries, and ice cream to name a few.
I really hope Tucker spends some quality time in Russia to see how they are living, and maybe expands his interviews to Snowden and some other interesting characters.

I’m glad you know about this! I wish more people would read about it. It’s disgusting. The landowners have already had to deal with harassment from Summit’s surveyors, trespassing, threats, and damaged crops. And who wants to lose a chunk of farmland to an easment? One landowner asked what happens if Summit goes bankrupt, then can someone else take over the pipe and the easement? Also, Summit told the landowners that they will seek control of the land via eminent domain if they don’t sign over easement rights. It’s so disgusting and Noem has been virtually silent about it and claims there isn’t much she can do. If that’s how she is with her own state’s citizens then I absolutely do not want her to be second-in-command of the entire country.

My assumption is, once candidate Trump again becomes the GOP Candidate for 2024 President that he will have the ability to fire Mrs. McDaniels and replace her with an actual MAGA person to head the GOP until the next GOP meeting that will elect their new chair.

Your assumption is wrong. The RNC is a corporation and not under any sort of controls by any of the branches of government. They have their own board, and their own rules for nominating and installing RNC chairs. The RNC and DNC are not the Republican and Democrat parties. Just corporations formed to get and promote candidates for alledged Repeblican and Democrat big donors. They are two corporations ensuring the interests of lobbyists win no matter the outcome.
What Trump can do is put political pressure on the RNC, and peel back the layers and reveal the truth of the RNC and DNC. Neither should even exist IMO.

I have almost no tolerance for Loomer any more. Remember the photo of the hand holding currency next to the bullet hole in a window? I do believe the picture was deliberately chosen because it referenced “47” (the sum of the currency), but Loomer went much farther than that and claimed that it conveyed a secret message about how much someone would be paid to act. The problem is she didn’t bother to find the source of the photo, it’s from the 1950’s by a well-known photographer, it wasn’t a photo taken recently with an embedded message. Does she have a real job?
I think she’s a roving reporter and has a podcast. So I guess her money comes from her podcast.

That link seems a bit odd so let me put here what she wrote in her tweet, it’s bizarre. She thinks it’s suspicious that the bill has text on it from before 1963. Well that’s because the photo was taken in the 1950’s, duh. If she had done an image search like I did, she would have found it on the Getty site.
The $10 bill in the photograph next to the bullet says “WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND”. That writing on the bill was replaced with “IN GOD WE TRUST” in 1963.

The reason there will be two contests next week is because Republicans in the state aren’t happy with somewhat-recent changes to Nevada election laws. In 2021, the state’s Democratic governor at the time, Steve Sisolak, signed a slew of bills into law creating all-mail elections, expanding voter registration and moving the state-run presidential contest to a primary. Trump is unopposed because idiot Haley filed to be a candidate in the primary, not the caucus. DeSantis would have been a candidate in the caucus had he not dropped out.
The delegates are awarded proportionately, so expect Trump to win them all unless there are some non-viable candidates on the ballot. There are 26 delegates available.
Right now the counts are: Trump 32, Haley 17, DeSantis 9. The winner needs 1215 Trump refused the premature awarding of the nomination (I agree with his action) so there’s still a long way to go before he officially wins. Super Tuesday is March 5.
Adding: A person must have registered as a Republican at least 30 days prior to Feb 8 in order to participate in the caucus.
I wasn’t paying attention, did the Haley campaign urge Nevada Democrats to change their party affiliation so they can interfere with the NV caucus like she’s been encouraging them to do in IA, NH, and SC?
She didn’t register for the Republican Caucus and that is why Trump will win all the delegates. The party tied the delegates to the Caucus. Haley got her name on the Primary ballot for the voting on Tuesday, and I think the Primary Caucus is later in the week.

I was trying to find why Haley is on the primary ballot and not the caucus ballot. The NV GOP party decided back in August 2023 that they would make the primary worthless and they would hold a caucus.
The Nevada GOP announced on Aug 14 2023 that they would be holding caucuses. The filing deadline to get on the Nevada primary ballot was October 15 and the filing deadline to get on the caucus ballot was October 16. There was a rule that you could not file to be on both ballots.
Haley knew that only registered Republicans can vote in the caucus (and they need to show ID!) so she couldn’t appeal to Democrats for help, so she decided to skip the caucus and participate instead in the “beauty contest” primary. It’s interesting to note that Tim Scott had also filed to be on the primary ballot, not the caucus ballot.
I remember Sundance posting an article that mentioned “beauty contest” so I suspect this whole thing has been discussed in great detail there. I will find the article and add the link to it.

2024: 131,286 total votes
2020: 539,263 total votes
2016: > 368,877 total votes (I only counted Hillary’s and Bernie’s votes)
Granted there were many viable Dem candidates in 2020 and only Biden in 2024, so the much larger total number of votes in 2020 could be attributed to interest by voters. And also, in 2020 Trump was unopposed.
But I’m worried that this year, because Haley and other anti-Trump scum were begging for it, many Democrats might have decided to skip the Dem primary and will instead interfere with the GOP primary, and that’s why the total number of votes in the Dem primary is so low. Imagine if 400K people who would normally vote Dem interfere with the GOP primary to try to make Trump lose. They might actually succeed.
In the 2016 GOP primary there were > 740K votes cast and Trump won 240K with quite a bit of opposition. Can we get 740K votes again this year? I sure hope so.
Putting this all together: Trump winning South Carolina is NOT a sure thing. Please please please South Carolina conservatives vote in the primary on Tuesday Feb 24 to offset Democrat interference. A good showing like there was in 2016 will help a lot.

I very much appreciate the Nevada GOP wresting the GOP primary away from Democrats’ control (see my prior post on the matter) BUT it looks like with just a week to go there are conservative voters who have no clue what’s going on, and apparently they don’t know how to search the internet. (sigh)

Nevada elections and party officials have, over the last several weeks, fielded thousands of calls from voters who have received ballots in the mail for the Feb. 6 state primary, not realizing Trump is competing only in a Republican caucus two days later, according to officials with local GOP parties, the state and a voting rights group.
Posts have been populating on social media with voters asking why Trump’s name was missing from their ballots. Many floated false conspiracy theories.
Trump is not on the ballot because he did not file for the state election. He is expected to easily win the caucuses and claim all of Nevada’s 26 delegates.
I’m a little worried now that there will be people submitting primary ballots AND voting in the caucus and the Dems will somehow find a way to invalidate those votes. Kash Patel did not help by telling people to send back the primary ballots with “none of the above” and then voting in the caucuses two days later.
For those unaware, a significant number of major chain stores are already using facial recognition and biometrics in their stores as the structure for a dystopian police state begins to take form. The only way they will ever think about stopping is if people let them know in no uncertain terms that their continued use of said technology will result in large scale loss of business and potential law suits.

Don’t just stop shopping at them – go in and ask to speak to a manager, then tell them why you won’t be coming back. Afterwards share the information with your friends and coworkers.

It isn’t some science fiction dystopia or conspiracy theory – it’s all around us and so many people willingly partake in setting up the infrastructure required and allow themselves to be monitored – for “convenience” or “because it’s neat” or “for safety.” That includes the ubiquitous smartphones as well.
Those who they really should prevent entering are those with ski masks on where facial recognition will likely be ineffective in identifying.
Actually, facial recognition combined with thermal imaging CAN identify you, right through a mask.
Remember “tin foil hats” lol.
Line a mask with aluminum, silver spray paint is probably easiest, if you want to be sure you aren’t recognisable.
And hey, since Covid, anyone can wear a mask, anywhere.
THEY may regret that, before its over.
At this point, I applaud any and all who render facial recognition or any other method of state surveillance and data gathering obsolete, as it’s an invasion of privacy and the stuff of a big brother dystopia – but as Dutch pointed out, plain ski masks will do nothing against cameras which use infrared imaging. The truth of the matter is that the entire “covid mask” insanity gave them immeasurable data and machine learning time to enable the perfection of recognition in spite of masks.
What’s next – listening to ones thoughts and arresting people for thought crimes?
Will it stop shoplifting? Teenager mob raids? Didn’t think so.
I mostly shop at the Piggly Wiggly and the local hardware store. They know pretty much everyone’s faces around here too, but shoot first, call the sheriff later.
I like the latter policy 😉 Of course, the issue isn’t about people recognizing you. In fact, excellent customer relations are built on employees knowing their regular customers’ names and establishing a rapport with them.
This is about using digital technology to record and provide biometrics and tracking that can be used by the state (government), as well as big business. The more sophisticated systems can also follow your eyes to know what you are looking at and recognize your facial expressions to discern what you are interested in and what you dislike.
Ultimately it is about control, tracking, and ferreting out any dissent to the wishes of the state. In China they use it to determine what citizens feel about the government and about content of signs (regulations, etc). If they get their way and implement their restrictions on movement (for example 15 minute cities and elimination of personal transportation) it will be used to detect if you’ve left “your area”, much like an ankle bracelet currently does with people on probation.
And yet, many use the Kroger card for discounts, or have no problem giving up their phone numbers at the checkout.
I personally give them the old information number of 555-1212, and I always seem to get the best deals, still.
And don’t give out SS number at doctors write in fake if you must but had my info stolen and sold by workers at doctors office.
Many also use smart phones, give palm prints, submit to TSA screenings, and go along with all manner of government hoaxes 😉
Why is it when I visit the RNC web site (https://gop.com/) I see no info about the GOP primaries? Just a plea for contact info (so they can hit you up for cash) and then, farther down, Ronna’s unfortunate duck lip face on a video. What pathetic leadership. In an election year they should be providing info to voters right on the front page.
So very much they SHOULD be doing but nothing seems to be changing.
More reason to dislike DeSantis, this regards the Nevada primary vs caucus. DeSantis’ campaign was critical of the caucus. Why? The caucus is much more secure, participants must be registered Republicans, need to show ID to vote, there aren’t any mail-in shenanigans, and you get the results after a few hours. What’s not to like when every election is rife with Democrat fraud?
