One of the very first places they drive all the border crossers to is the DMV. There they issue IDs and voter registrations. What a racket!

I just learned something new today about COVID vaccination status and HIPAA. I thought I had read/learned back in late 2021 (when Biden was threatening to have all unvaccinated US workers fired) that Biden’s administration, I think it was HHS in particular, had declared COVID vaccination status was not HIPAA-protected. How convenient, right?
But I just read this, and the logic is ludicrous:

The HIPAA Privacy Rule limits uses and disclosures of individuals’ PHI to uses and disclosures required for treatment, payment, or healthcare operations. Other uses and disclosures generally require consent to be provided by the individual in writing. However, HIPAA only applies to certain organizations and businesses. So how does HIPAA relate to requests for proof of vaccine status?
Vaccination information is classed as PHI and is covered by the HIPAA Rules. However, HIPAA only applies to HIPAA-covered entities – healthcare providers, health plans, and healthcare clearinghouses – and their business associates. If an employer asks an employee to provide proof that they have been vaccinated in order to allow that individual to work without wearing a facemask, that is not a HIPAA violation as HIPAA does not apply to most employers.
It would not be a HIPAA violation for an employer to ask an employee’s healthcare provider for proof of vaccination. It would however be a HIPAA violation for the employee’s healthcare provider to disclose that information to the employer unless the individual had provided authorization to do so.
So let me get this straight. If my health care provider is asked to disclose my COVID vaccination status to my employer (I’m unjabbed, for the record) they need my permission and I can say ‘no’. But if my employer demands of me directly that I disclose my status, I can’t say ‘no’. What kind of crazy f’d up insanity is this? Is my medical info protected or not?
In the pre-Fascist corporation world, the value of one’s work product far exceeded such minutiae as one’s vaccinations, or not, or other personal criteria that didn’t materially affect current work product.
Covid taught us that being discriminated against medically was not only possible, it was an important tool of legal discrimination. Who decided what ‘protected’ classes were/are? Ha, ha. Good to see more clearly the delineation between what is legal and what is right.

Simple enough. It’s protected info when being handled by the health care system. It’s not protected info when handled by your employer, because HIPAA doesn’t regulate their demands or behaviors. Other laws do, such as an employment contract or general labor laws. It also varies state by state what employers are able to require you reveal to them. But in most places employers can ask whatever they want to ask, it’s up to you to refuse, and you can’t object if there are negative consequences to your refusal because you can go seek work elsewhere.
Maga, what IM says is correct as I was responsible for rolling out the HIPAA Privacy Rule at my health care system. Also correct that it varies state-to-state. Whichever law is more strict for health privacy supercedes HIPAA. For example, NC state law requires explicit consent/authorization to allow for release of a person’s health information so that is what must be followed.
That said, if a private employer makes vaccination status a part of their criteria for employment they could ask an applicant for that information as a condition of employment. It is still your right to refuse to disclose that information.
HIPPA is and never was what it was sold as, a protection of patients privacy.
Actually, this is good, as any employer that asks your vax status, is the first step to eliminating themselves as a company you would want to work for, with refusing to take NOYFB (None of your f’ing business) for an answer, as sealing the deal.
Its like how any Dr. that insists you wear a mask, or tries to get you to vax, is automatically not a Dr you want.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge.
I realize this isn’t the source, the ultimate definition, but even the CDC implies that it’s the INFORMATION being protected, so in theory the requester shouldn’t matter.
Thanks to the dumbf***ery employers can fire a person who refuses to reveal medical info, apparently. I knew that about COVID but had the reason wrong. Can they ask me about my medical history regarding whether or not I’ve ever had or been treated for a number of different conditions or diseases most people wouldn’t want to reveal? Fortunately for me I haven’t, but as with the COVID vaccination status I simply don’t want to reveal anything at all. I wish everyone had simply refused, there’s no way businesses could have fired everyone.

Per my answer above, employers in most places can ask you anything they want to ask you. If you want to refuse to answer, it’s entirely up to you.
There are positive reasons for doing this sometimes. If you want to teach or work with kids, they might look for things like arrests, not just convictions. If you want to perform any aspect of patient care, they do need to know more about your medical history because you might be exposed to communicable diseases. Some high-stress jobs take mental health history into account. Jobs requiring security clearances might go into aspects of your life you would be reluctant to share.

For the past century at minimum, no U.S. / state militia or part-time volunteer army could defend this nation against a highly skilled and technologically advanced “standing army” from a belligerent enemy nation.

France, Poland, and Belgium in 1939 are a good examples of not having any substantive standing army when a belligerent military (the Wehrmacht) decides to swoop in and take control. This isn’t a TV show or a Hollywood movie. You can’t just scrounge the barracks for a few patriotic company grade officers and toss them the keys to the pentagon without years of experience and training.
You will be surprised at how rapidly units under truly competent leadership learn to adjust from previous bad practices to “new” (actually old and long-proven) practices. Word gets around quickly. I know – I was in the Army and have several close relatives who were officers; one very close to the “brass”. I heard the stories – both good ones and frustrating ones.
Much of the time competent leaders are already present in the lower ranks of officers but they keep their ideological and morality differences quiet from their superiors if they see “light at the end of the tunnel”.
Change of leadership does not stop at the flag level. New Generals and admirals must clean house of personnel loyal to the Woke ideas. That may take a few months to root out the bad apples and move them out of positions of influence and into harmless positions to help persuade them to retire in frustration, unless true charges of insubordination can be effectively applied.
Word of a new sheriff in town spreads quickly. I daresay it will also re-attract honest patriots to grow the ranks again.

The WSJ article is wrong – Trump won Wisconsin and we have the evidence. My fault for not getting it out sooner, swamped with work. Back to the article: clarifying by chance Brown County (Green Bay) ES&S machines were ordered without the modems. 30 other counties out of our 72 counties do use modems, most wireless ones, some are analog.
However, Justice Gableman is correct that nefarious activity did take place in Green Bay with Mark Spitzer Rubenstein. Here are photos of him on Nov.3, 202 in Green Bay’s central count. In advance he had the KI Convention Center, where the count took place, run him a private router line from the floor up to his 8th floor hotel room. He was receiving election results in real time, from a technician who worked the KI Convention Center.
And why, in a central counting room on election day was Rubenstein on a laptop? Let’s all do that – take your laptops to central counts this coming November. He was not authorized to be there, just a private citizen from Brooklyn, NY. Earlier on he had a name tag stating he was a city employee – he never was.
The city clerk of Green Bay is very corrupt, Celeste Jefferies. She is still there. It was directly Robin Vos who covered this all up as Justice Gableman has a subpoena with Rubenstein’s name on it – Robin Vos shut the investigation down. To WSJ – stop lying about 2020, so much has come out across the nation you look like fools.
From a technical standpoint, ES&S’s assertions are without bearing. ANY type of network connection makes the machines hackable, exposes the information being transmitted to monitoring (for example, to know how many fake ballots need to be produced or altered), and opens the possibility of data alteration.
The same type of bs was spewed in Michigan after 2020. There the corrupt officials tried to assert that their equipment did not have modems. What they forgot is that all of the information about the voting machine procurement was still on the state government websites and it showed that when the put out the Request for Purchase, they explicitly stated they wanted machines WITH modems and Dominion was nice enough to talk all about their capabilities.

This is the first time I’ve seen a local news affiliate take a defensive posture in favor of a J6 defendant who’s being abused by the DOJ. And from Chicago of all places!
ABC7 is reporting the mostly ignored fact that the government is punishing J6ers who don’t plead guilty by adding additional felony charges if they go to trial. This article (link in comments) refers to them as “revenge felonies”.
In my case, while discussing a plea deal, DOJ told my lawyer, “So far we have not yet charged him with felony obstruction of an official proceeding. That’s a felony that carries a potential 20 year sentence. We could, but so far we’ve chosen not to.”

I did not go to college so all I have is high school and life experience.
Unfortunately for me my high school history teacher instilled in me a sense of civic mindedness. He would make the class watch C-Span for thirty minutes a day three times a week. We could earn extra credit if we watched during our personal time, write an essay on what we watched, who we watched and what we thought of what we watched. He was what you would call an old school hippy liberal, but I loved him. He made us think. He challenged us to think outside the box. He told us it was our right to challenge the government. He told us it was our right to hold the government t accountable when they overstepped and infringed on the rights of the people. I do not know if he is alive or not but if he is alive, I hope that he did not turn into a Neil Young. He gave me confidence and encouraged me to speak my mind without fear.
I have written to my state of Delaware politicians on numerous occasions about various topic throughout the years. Heck I even sent a fax to every senator in the country, why did I do this, because I could. I mock them. I call them out. I call them the liars that they are. I will not live my life in fear of Joe Biden or his Delaware minions.
As far as I am concerned if he were to stand in front of me, I would tell him to his face TRUMP WON.
And I do this while trying to get my state politicians to change their stance on everything green new deal. I guess the joke is on me.
It is never, ever fruitless to stand up for the truth and ensure that those who represent you in government are crystal clear about your views – in fact, it is a duty and responsibility to do so.
