The leftist LAWFARE effort to use the federal and state court system to keep President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot continues. However, in the most recent example, a Democrat appointed federal judge in Virginia has dispatched the effort.
(New York Post) – A federal judge in Virginia on Friday dismissed a lawsuit aimed at removing former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 primary ballot citing the insurrection clause of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
The complaint, filed by activists Roy Perry-Bey and Carlos Howard, alleged that Trump “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the US and should therefore be disqualified from seeking the office he once occupied.
Judge Leonie Brinkema of the Eastern District of Virginia, an appointee of former President Bill Clinton, found that the plaintiffs lacked standing to sue to get Trump, 77, off the state’s primary ballot.
“At least five additional federal courts have concluded that citizens attempting to disqualify individuals — including former President Trump — from participating in elections or from holding public office based on the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol lacked standing,” Brinkema wrote in her 13-page ruling.
“Plaintiffs have totally failed to demonstrate how their alleged injuries are traceable to the conduct of defendants,” the judge added. (read more)
No doubt the Lawfare effort will continue, as the predicate reason for the January 6th “insurrection” narrative continues to surface.

A primary is an activity that a private organization engages in to select who that PRIVATE organization wants to support in any GENERAL election. OK….this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine…that the political parties are allowing governments to tell them what to do and how to do it. And yes…I get it that in exchange, they get taxpayers to pay for these primary elections.
If I could wave a magic wand, I would terminate the involvement of government at any level to participate, fund, or control what and how political parties choose candidates who might run for office in general elections.

States & counties run elections. For federal offices, feds “rent” the state election apparatus to conduct elections on their behalf. It pays fees to the state/counties to do this. A lawsuit against a state that tries to deny a fed candidate an election presence could win under the Fed election laws.

In the US, the “party” system has resulted in two major parties acting as coalitions. This is in contrast to Europe, where you see multiple parties each with policy purity, and the coalition building goes on at the legislative level. The idea that you can create a “pure” party by kicking out “RINOs” or any other faction is just not going to happen. You need to build coalitions, but “true-believers” typically aren’t good at that.

In the 1890s states took over preparation of ballots (known as the Australian ballot) and hence control over who was on the ballot. In the early 1900s the progressive wing of the Republicans, led by Wis gov LaFollette, got legislation passed creating direct primaries including presidential primaries to elect/bind convention delegates.
Whatever the theory behind primary elections, the D/R parties seem to have no problem with the idea, or adjusted to it.
The Republican Party in Colorado uses the State of Colorado Election apparatus (Colorado Secretary of State Office), paid for by the Taxpayers, to conduct the actual voting, (the polls and voting machines, the poll officials, the counting of ballots, etc…) So… the State of Colorado claims the power to determine who is on the ballot. …FYI…If the State of Colorado bans Trump from the ballot, the Colorado Republicans will hold their own primary election (a caucus type election), free of tyrannical powers of the Colorado Democrats.

I think the Tea Party movement saw themselves as outside the party system, just running candidates here and there without a politcal organization. Trump saw the advantage of operating within a party, not outside of it.
In my part of the country (western Colorado), at the time that the Tea Party ran strong, we had local groups who took local organized action. We vetted our candidates – required them to fill out questionnaires that specifically asked them to state their platforms, their plans with regard to the issues at hand once they were elected to office, providing us with something in writing as leverage for when/if they got elected. And we campaigned very actively for those who we supported.
However, looking back, the Uniparty and the steal ran deep and wide. Even though we are still at this 2-party stage, am hoping (and working) for a better outcome in 2024.

I suppose in the US system, where 3 branches are independent, an attempt by one branch to control another could be viewed as insurrection. Thing about J6, I don’t remember Trump calling the rally or in any way controlling it; I think it was some “Stop the Steal” or something like that? He probably should have chosen his words better, but face it, that’s not Trump and people love him for it.
I don’t agree with the theory the VP has some sort of power to cancel the votes of electors; the 1876 process was for state reps and sens to object, and an investigation held. I have sympathy for the “false flag” theory that Schumer and Pelosi wanted a riot to stop any state objections.

Trump should personally sue those two for defamation. And any Secretary of State who makes an accusation of insurrection.

IMHO, the chances of an election actually happening are around 15-20% at best. A false flag event triggering an order of Marial Law is seriously in the cards. You don’t think they’ll go down without a fight do you? They know another steal like 2020 will be dicey at best, they won’t take that chance.
I don’t believe the election will be cancelled. It may be that conditions will be made to exist (from disease, threats of terrorism, or something else entirely) such that it will be deemed too dangerous to open physical polling places anywhere in the country. Thus, all voting will be done by mail.
There is simply no legal precedent or mechanism for suspending elections.
Its an admission of defeat on their part and the Government looses any semblence of authority, if they do.
While most focus on ballot fraud, that adds to the other than Trump votes, far to many ignore or are unaware of the other election manipulation, which is VOTER SUPPRESSION.
In Maracopa County the offixial results had Hobbs “win” by 17,000 votes.
We KNOW they injected 35,000 phantom voter ballots into the count, on election day (we literally have the reciepts!)
However, in addition they SUPPRESSED THE VOTES of at least 48,000 MAGA voters, with the malware in the machines.
Because,Kari was SO popular, they needed BOTH in order to overcome her inherent lead and actually they also deployed “sharpiegate 2.0” another voter suppresion method, as well as the 10,000 maga voters THEY submitted mailed in ballots for, prior to election day. Those are both voter suppression AND adding in ballots for Hobbs, and actually “count” as +20,000 for Hobbs.
